Does anyone know which schools in D-III that don't drug test year round? NCAA has gotten back to me on a list yet.

Other news, d3football players might have a better chance of continuing thier careers.  They can put on their resume that they were an AA based on Football Gazette list haha.  SPRING FOOTBALL LEAUGE.

why are schools' names listed on the AA  spelled out... Gustavus Adolphus, Wisconsin Lutheran, Mary Hardin-Baylor......and Christopher Newport is abbreviated as CNU?

I know about CNU...what about the fan in Oregon.....trying to figure out who the heck is CNU....

points to ponder when you had beer at lunch!

I got a quick question here.  How much of D3 football schools are drug tested?  I don't think it is too big of a problem.  I know USA South drug tests. So i just want to know how level is the playing field is in d3 football.  I know players in a different conference those players were using steroids because they didn't test.  I know they test once you get to the playoffs am I right on that.  I just want to know how many of those schools that have all-americans test for steroids.  I am not going to take anything from those players, because i am sure they are all clean.
Pride,
Your right that all sports test for drugs in playoffs.  For this year coming up Bridgewater has implemented a mandatory random drug testing program across its athletic program.  It will be implemented in the 2006-2007 school year.

CNU85

anyone know what Justin Wood is doing this year?

CNU85

this season is going to be a real test for Kelchner and CNU. Not many returning starters and a schedule that could destroy confidence in the younger guys.  A true test...it'll be fun to watch how everyone handles the season...including people who post on here.

CNU85-

Maybe you can tell me this. If not someone can.  What time is the Football Media day tomorrow.  It is listed on the usasouth website as being tomorrow.  I would like to listen to it.  How fast will it be archived.  Just in case I don't get to listen to it.

Has CNU always had a winning seasons.  I would expect the players not returning starters but returners to be solid either way.  I get a feeling CNU knows what they are doing, because they continue to have a good players year in and year out.

Media Day begins at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow. The only mention of its start time on the USAC site that I saw is near the bottom of coach's poll news release.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

The link for the webcast for the USA South media day will be up on Shenandoah's athletic site in about 10 mins. The media day has not started as of 1053 am ET.

Pridesport......you got the answers on the media day coverage. Now to your question about CNU having winning season.....CNU has NEVER had a season at or below .500. They have beena round 5 seasons and compiled records of 5-4; 6-5; 8-3; 9-3; and 6-4. They are the only team at any NCAA level to go to the playoffs int heir first eyar of existence....and obviously the only team to go to the post season in each of its first 4 years.

Reality is - the league was new, a few teams had only played one year (or just a few years) longer than CNU. The league has "caught up" with CNU as evidenced by the fact that CNU did not make the post season last year.

This year CNU opens against top 20 teams Rowan, Mary Hardin Baylor, and Salisbury. Then they go into conference play where EVERYBODY has gotten better. 2005 was the first eyar CNU lost 2 conference games in the same season and the first time they have lost to a team from NC.

Averett is tough, so is Ferrum, NC Weslyan is a new program that made some noise last year, and of course Methodist beat CNU last year. While SU was down, they still have the edge in the series vs CNU.

I agree with you that CNU seems to have it together and the coaches know what they are doing. This will be the toughest year EVER for the coaches. The first year, they had the element of surprise and the energy around a new program (6,100+ fans in the inaugural game).

But this year is different...many many starters are gone from last years 6-4 team. I'm sure there will be a few surprises for the fans this year...sophomores who got some playing time will step it up and be a nice addition. Some Freshman will come in tearng things up......but those first 3 games are KILLERS!!!!

That's why I love this game and have season tickets!

CNU85-
Yeah those games are tough.  I think CNU will live through it.  I know salisbury, since i am from around that area.  They hype up alot of sports there.  They are a very talented state school don't get me wrong.  Lacrosse lets not forget.  They shut the street down as the players walk to the field, that is a sight to see. CNU will win at least one of those first 3 games. I hope it is Salisbury.  I am ready for the season to start either way.

In other note, that AA list, I know for a fact that one of those schools that had a real bad record last year used steroids becuase they didn't test.  The ones I know aren't all AA's, but i can't say it for those that made the list.  They should test year round.  Those bad teams don't have to worry about the NCAA come playoff time.  They won't make it to the playoffs.  So you never know.

That's a pretty big assumption to say that just because a school doesn't test that the players are abusing steroids.  I'm not saying there may not be a few kids doing it but to say that kids are abusing steroids because they aren't being tested is a stretch.

I remember one year somebody from the NCAA came and spoke to us about what was legal/illegal.  He said that having more than the caffeine in 8 cups of coffee was in violation.  I drink more than 8 cups of coffee before 8am these days.  Narch, I guess I can't come suit up this year  ;)
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

An in direct conversation from the school I know.  He graduated a couple years before me.  He told me to juice up. I said I couldn't because my school tests for it.  He said that sucked.  Assumtion either way I understand.  Just can't rule it out.
