WOW!!! My internet has been down since I got back from the CNU game. COX just left the house and I am online again. I have been dying to know what the reaction was to CNU's win. I have been a season ticket holder since game one and I think this was one of the best CNU games I have seen yet (Maybe the best division III game I have seen). Our passing game looked awesome. We actually had the deep threat going. Faison was great, 16 of 24 for 213 and a TD (including a 49 Yard TD). Kelchner is a awesome coach. His play calling was very strong. My only concern are our little running backs and o-line. The o-line cost us pts. This game was not as close as the score indicates. Our backs have speed but they were tossed around by the UMHB line.

i wasn't at the mc/gcq game, but all reports were that the monarchs played sloppy, sloppy football...and the box score confirms this - 4 turnovers, 9 penalties for 78 yards...not the kind of football you expect from the defending conference co-champions, but not entirely unex"pected from a team that was playing it's first game with very few "live" practices - i suspect they'll be better next week against chowan

great win captains...way to salvage some respect for the conference...just 3 wins on the season for the usasac...yuck!

Great win CNU, a win next week would set a nice turn in momentum, I was at the Rowan game last year, what a great complex and great fan support.....I was a Aggie and played at DVC years ago our field wasn't as nice as our pasture for the cows, I was curious what type of turf do you have, it looked as nice as any golf course green up here in Jersey, bermuda grass possibly, I don't think bent grass is tuff enough.

Congratulations to CNU on a great win.  Good luck the rest of the season.  Perhaps they can meet UMHB again later in the season.

Great win for the Captains. I saw the box score, the defense for them is for real this year. This win does a lot for you guys, for one it gives you momentum to go the rest of the year and play as well as you did against MHB, and if this is the case, then watch out USASAC!

The Monarchs looked ok on Saturday. I went and watched them, and let me be the first to tell you Vogelbach is a phenominal QB. The defense was in the right place, he just threw ropes to the recievers and put them in a position where only they could get the ball. Offensively for the monarchs, they have got to convert inside the redzone. They shot themselves in the foot when they would get down there. The O-line is young, and have not played together yet, but those boys started looking good later on in the game. They will figure the blitzes out. Mike hill looks better than he did last year running the ball. He hits the hole with a speed that is unbelievable, and with power. This year he isnt dancing or trying to outrun some people he lowers his head and busts through the hole. Bartee played a good game. It was his first game, you think he would be nervous, but that young man has grown up. He made some good decisions. overall, the monarchs will have a good year if they stay healthy and stay together.

Good job monarchs, keep it up!!!!

MC will still have a good season.  They're a fine  team and it was a tough road test for Guilford.  The Quakers had an advantage with one game under their belt and a more experienced QB.  Speaking of Vogelbach, he now has 4290 yards passing and has accounted for 48 TD's (46 passing) - in 12 games!  Can you imagine what his stats will be after he plays 40 (or more!) games in college?  From a Guilford fan's point-of-view, it sure is fun to watch.

Yeah I remember when you guys took us down in the Oyster Bowl quite well. ;) Actually I just used a little technology, Kid's message board at BridgewaterFootball.com lists birthdays daily and yours came up when I was posting yesterday. Glad you had a good one!

I also noticed if you click on the calander at the top of this page it lists some birthdays there as well. (ha,ha)

Not that your birthday isn't important - it is! - but birthdays on 9/11 will be pretty difficult to forget from now on.  I have a cousin whose birthday is 9/11 and before 2001 I could never remember.  Not anymore!  Anyway, on a happier note, Happy Birthday!

CNU85

dang fellas......sniff sniff.....I'm feeling special!! ;D

Hey - thanks!!!!!! when you get old like me, it's nice when people remember!!

I'm hoping CNU will make me feel real special when they head up to Salisbury this weekend. I was thinking about heading up there this weekend......but I got a feeling I'll be putting my new wheel into action in the back yard....... headphones and the game on radio will have to suffice.

CNU85

Yikes....I just looked at the calendar. Glad I didn't put in my birthday!!! I would be the second oldest guy in September!!!!

Poll question - Who will be the first team to score on Bridgewater this year?

I'll take a shot: How about Ferrum in the 2nd quarter. ;)
