Narch- How do you call the line on MC and EH? EH +4?

A movie about Papi's life is coming out this week. Papi is playing Kevin Cosner in the sex scences...............Serious.....this is what they do everyday in the CG
Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

I saw it a couple of weeks ago at a premier, it's pretty good, and pretty accurate.

Narch, are our redzone problems due to conservative play calling?  Sounds like they need to give Bartee full reign of the offense.  I know it's baptism by fire by they've got to let him feel the heat sometime.

money or no money, CNU has been dominant in the conference in most all sports. They were dominant before the money and dominant now. IMO they will continue to be dominant. The more success we have, the more the kids want to come.

But every winning tradition has to start somewhere. So there IS hope for the rest of the conference.

I do have a question though Crazy.
With ODU now adding a 1-AA football team with 65 Schollys available, do you think this may pull some kids from the Tidewater area away from CNU? I know winning means alot but money talks.

Llamaguy-
Very good point.  Although CNU does very well in every other sport.  I don't know if that will have much pull.  Again though football is usually, the last time I checked the biggest team at the schools.

Crazylegs-
Yeah move up to D2 and you will have more of a reason to have kids come there. IMO

Crazylegs, I actually see some challenges for the USASAC men.  If Shenandoah gets an academically more prestigeous conference opportunity, that is geographically neutral or favorable, (Centennial or maybe the MAC)  then what is there to keep them in the USASAC?

What if the Capital Athletic Conference seeks a football-playing school that is acceptable to being in a mixed (Private and Public) conference?  The Captial only has Salisbury, Gallaudet (adding varsity in 2007), and Wesley joining in 2007.  The Capital is also adding Villa Julie and Hood, neither of which is playing football.  One needs 4 core members to offer a championship in a sport, and then get 3 affiliate members (Frostburg State?) to make the 7.  This is just conjecture at this point, but is interesting to consider in the light of all of the shuffling that is occurring in that part of D3.

The USASAC men only have 7 members.  You have no slack to lose a member.  I have posted elsewhere that I think that the smartest thing that you can do is to annex/merge with the GSAC.  In football, you pick up 2 more members, especially useful if a Shenandoah or a CNU leave.  In the other sports, you can split into divisions.  (In fact, expanding to the GSAC will add an automatic qualifier when Men's Cross Country goes to the AQ format.)

Peace College, or Mary Baldwin, or Meredith College gets a football team.  We can let the other schools leave.  ;D

If the USASAC looses CNU or Shennadoah, i see us picking up a couple of teams. Right now though, who would want to leave. This conference is so competitive it isnt funny. Since the renaming of the conference, we have never had an outright winner of this thing. We have always had 2 winners. Tell me that isnt competitive. I think Shenandoah might want to leave because everyone now is whoopin their tail. I mean they did bully people around when they first started that wing-t stuff, but once people learned to stop it, they exposed their weakness, no QB. This conference is awesome and i like every team in it. It should stay the way it is.

Hey anyone from CNU that follows the players when they leave, what is Justin Wood doing now? Is he playing somewhere? I enjoyed watching that man play and playing against him. When we beat CNU last year, that man took a beating most of the game, but we keyed off of him cuz he had shoved it in our throats the past 3 years, and  the whole time of the game he never said one thing negative, he was a leader. I would like to know what he is doing these days.

Ok so here goes. It may be early but all i have done is look at stats and trying to get in on this picking teams and everything. I have plenty of time to do this in my ISS room at school when im not watching game film.

NCWC vs MARYVILLE- ncwc by 7. 35-28.

FERRUM vs AVERETT- Ferrum by 14. 35-21.  Averett has allowed 184 yds rushing per game this season, Ferrum has averaged 428.7. Averett could stop the pass, but they cant stop the run too well.

GREENSBORO vs GUILFORD- Guilford by 17. 45-28. Guilford has a nice passing game and they are pissed about loosing saturday to Averett. I think Vogelbach and his crew get back on track and pick up a big win against GC.

CNU vs SHENANDOAH- CNU by 21. 35-14. CNU looks great defensively. They feel that they have a point to prove this year. This year might come down to them and ferrum to see who will win the championship outright.

METHODIST vs EMORY&HENRY-  MC by 7. 28-21. Methodist gets on track and i think Mike hill goes off again this year on the wasps defense. Bartee may even throw his first TD of the year in this one!!

I think it will be a good weekend for football in the conference.

GO MONARCHS.

First, they need to get some men, then we'll talk about forming football teams.  :)

D2 WILL NEVER HAPPEN let me repeat that IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. D1 and I-AA for football, maybe in 15 years when someone donates 20 mill to help what very little endowment we now have.

Without a doubt llama. The southside is a hot bed of football talent in this area and I can definitely see them pulling in kids that would under other circumstances come here. As far as numbers, I couldnt tell you, we really wont know until the 08 high school football season, since they are starting in 09.

Who says they need men.   ;D

My picks for Saturday.

E&H 20 Methodist 13-long trip in and out the moutains.  Take a bit out of Methodist.

FC 34 AU 14-If it is closer then this I will be surprised

Maryville 21 NCWC 20-  A game that could go either way but long trip for NCWC and MC is bound to bounce back, this is the team.  There is no luck after this game.

Greensboro 24  Guilford 21  - All the signs point to Greensboro.  3-1 at Guilford. They lead the series 5-4, and Greensboro smoked at the last homecoming game.  (lower score to be expected based on history)

CNU 35 SU 21-People of said CNU doesn't play will at Shentel.  The win the game but in the second half.

JWood is a student assistant for the CNU football team while he finishes his degree. I echo your sentiments on that young man, it was a great leader and a great player and was a joy to wach on the field.

Goose-

What conference should they join then.  CNU has some great teams playing in the USASAC doesn't benefit them. Unless over night USASAC starts winning National Championships left and right, I don't see that happening for at least another 15 years.
