Great stats...but look at the competition......The Pride needed OT to win at home vs Maryville and barely eeked out a 1 point win at home against Southern Virginia. Then, you lost on the road to a team that was .500 last year. The Pride is GREATLY improved over last year, but the stats will start to even out once teams like CNU, Ferrum, and AU line up against the Pride. The toughest part of your schedule is about to begin!! You'll surprise a few teams....let's see which ones!

If GC was playing at home I would say they could keep it close but POMOCO is one tough place to play.  The Captains are like a school of sharks in there...they smell blood and go into a frenzy.
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

That's a great description and I can't wait to witness the frenzy on Saturday afternoon.

CNU85-

I see your point about competition.  Here is how I will argue.  GC played Mars Hill by no chance is great but among the top rushing teams in DII (Helping them get ready for FC I guess  :-\)  GC lost to Maryville last year.  We were picked off 7 times.  (Not holding onto the ball.)  Beat Maryville in OT right (Blew a 16-0 halftime lead).  Maryville beat NCWC in 4OT's.  I think that was a surprise by many.  (Can't compare the conference games this year)  GC held Guilford to the lowest offensive total of the year. Plus the lowest halftime score of the year.)  Greensboro blew another lead.  But in 9 mins scored 14 points.  Had a chance to win it with 5 seconds left.  (Missed a disputed FG)

I looked over the CNU games the past few years.  GC has spotted CNU a two or more score lead in the first Qtr several times the past few years.  For the most part the stats were nothing spectacular.  (Execept that 42-7 CNU victory)

The game will be won in the 3rd qtr.  Neither team plays well in that qtr this year.

Everyone can argue that CNU doesn't play well a Shentel.  That game was too close this past Saturday.  You all know that.

Who is going to be at that game? I will be there.  (I think you will see the best secondary in the conference come to town.)

I guess Ill show up, if I have to. Find CNU85 and sit in his prime Vice Admiral seats!!

CNU85

Too funny Goose!!!!!!!

Best Secondary in the Conf???? I would think Mssrs Long and All-American Rob Rod would have something to say about that!

We'll see this Saturday. That's why they blow the whistle and kick it off! I'll post my prediction Saturday before the game.....don't want to get the {Pride fired up!

CNU85

Oh goose......my left knee is on one side of the 50 and my right knee on the other......and I'm in the shade for the entire game!!!! Very good Vice Admiral seats indeed.

and lest you forget...it's CNU85, Sir!

All I am going to say to the Gboro faithful is that you have a tremendous task ahead of you this week. CNU has only lost 1 conf game at home and that was the very first conf game in team history. You would have to be a Captain to know what it feels like to wake up on a Saturday morning and go play in front of a packed house at Pomoco. It is the ultimate home field advantage as someone else on here made reference to earlier. And with that being said, I think Saturday might be a long day for the improving pride.

FINALLY THE MONKEY IS OFF OF THE CAPTAINS BACK. WE BEAT SU AT SHENTEL STADIUM.

If anyone thought that there wasn't really a curse when CNU plays at SU then just look at last weeks game. SU is a horrible team (no disrespect) and CNU only won 17-3. Its crazy how poorly we seem to play down there year after year.

Then there is a first for everything then in this conference ;).  Believe me I am very aware, of the CNU situation at the home field.  It is a tremendous task for GBoro.  Plus CNU being ranked. I am excited to be heading up that way for the game.  If crowd noise is an issue.  Well one of starting QB here.  Started 5 games for NC A&T in 2003 (The championship seson) I think he can handle the noise IMO.  It is a different team heading up that way.

Advice:  Where is the best place to park?

cnufan

There's really only two lots, and one of them you have to be a Vice Admiral or higher to get in to!! Best place to park is out front of the Freeman Center, that's off University Place which is a turn off of Warwick Blvd.

To anwser your questions

I think if greensboro loses,  it will be within the spread of what legacy said. I think 10pts.  (I will always root for GC to win.  I will give my keys to the game, later this week.  I think they match-up well.)

CNU is a defensive team.  They have always been as far as I know.  Based on stats they are a balanced (They have ran the ball more but have had little success.  They rank dead last in rushing offense.  Based on stats prior to this weekend) Plays into GC's favor.

CNU's MVP would be Roland Hillard.  If they are able to run the ball.

d3newbie- I will be at this game.  I am traveling up there.  I am leaving about mid-day friday.  Tips-avoid the traffic.

I as well will be making the trip. I am going with the team up there. But I agree with the Pirde if we lose, it will not be a blow out I think it will be a close game

Thanks, Goose.  I am very aware of the campus.  I have made many trips to to watch the conference championships at the Freeman Center.  Just wasn't sure of the best parking for the stadium was.

PrideFan1986

Hey guys when yall were talkin about the best secondary in the confernce I agree just look at the cumlative conf. stats you see all but like 2 in the top GC Players. And in the turnover margin we lead that too so all of this crap about not having the best secondary and I would have to say one of the best def. in the conf. is totaly true THE STATS DONT LIE so read them then say something

PrideFan1986

Hey CNU guys by looking at the stats, you are getting most of your points from your defense and not your offence WHAT IS THAT!!!!

PrideSportBBallGuy

Gullet-

So the offense isn't scoring for CNU.  No big deal.  They are 3-1 and ranked #21.  We will see if that has any effect on the game on saturday.
