Get fired up, knock them down and step on them.  Don't let the other team even think for a second that they have a chance.
After Shenandoah that is what everyone is thinking,  "hey maybe we have a shot".  Make an example of GC.  Leave them beaten and bruised.  run up the score.  I don't Care.  Beat them so bad that the rest of the conference doesn't even utter the letters CNU for the fear of unleashing the unholy terror that lives at POMOCO stadium.

For some reason when I was reading that I felt like I was in an "Under Armor" commercial.  I kept waiting for someone to run through the door screaming click/clack!

CNULifer-

I agree with Methodist posting crew.  Very intense stuff. "Leave them beaten and brusied" should be on a t-shirt.  What you wrote reminded me of the Titan-Raven rivalry of the NFL.  I want GC and coaching staff to do what Brian Billick did, after beating the Titans at home.  (I think they won 20+ staight games there, until Ravens came into town.)  Sounds like we have situation like that up there at CNU.  When it comes to conference play at least.  Brian Billick said something like, "SI says Titans are the best team, but not today." Coaching staff at GC at the end of the game should say, "d3sports/post says CNU is the best team in USASAC, not today!!!" ;) :D ;D

Check my grammar Narch.  I was in a hurry to write this one.

Nova-
what you just said made my day.

"Ha.  I can see why you're such a popular guy." (I enjoy the quick witt.)

Well this weekend I know I won't be a popular guy at CNU.  Especially since I am going to find the most green humanly possible, and wear it at the game.  I might have to do body paint  ;D. What's the expected temp at CNU this Saturday?

I say 5000+ fans bring your best, because I will try to match it.

NEWS for CNU players from The Pride - just remember, this is the same team that only won one game last year and two the year before.  :( They have not ever beaten anybody that's any good, and just squeaked by Maryville College (have they won a game yet?). Just take it easy on them and don't hurt nobody . . .they will do their best, but I am sure they are whimpering in their milk about having to face such a huge & overwhelming foe. :'(

This would probably be a good weekend for CNU to take off and coast to another easy victory over the Lady Lions!  ??? They can't decide on a QB, two freshman are their best defensive players and tiny Guilford College passed for 300 yards against them. Should just be another easy day at the park! Shoot, you guys don't need to even show up until half . . . this is probably a game you could clep out of ! ! ! You should be making big plans for a nice evening of celebration after dusting off The Pride.  :-\

Good luck - not that you would need it or anything . . . . at least not this weekend . . . . how's the sailing this time of year?

Now, maybe the Greensboro coach is telling his players some things an old coach told his players 30 years ago:

QuoteWhat matters...is not the size of the dog in the fight, but of the fight in the dog.
QuoteIf you believe in yourself and have dedication and PRIDE - and never quit, you'll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards.
QuoteTough times dont last, but tough people do
QuoteI ain't never been nothing but a winner.

But that probably didn't work 30 years ago - it probably doesn't work now . . . . enjoy your weekend off.  ;)

ROLL PRIDE ! ! ! !

It's not a matter of good teams not playing crummier ones. Most of the weaker teams are fearful of playing the big guys. Mount Union has struggled year in and year out to find a team to play. They would've played anyone who had the courage to say "yes." Averett had that courage this year, and it's paying off. CNU has been doing great these past couple of years putting some tough games on the schedule, too. And for a further reason that you can't say a good team won't play a bad team: Bridgewater did play LaGrange this year, didn't they? I'm sure Clark was pretty confident that that game was an automatic W for the Eagles.

You know, it's been hard for BC to find teams to play us as well.  Last year we  had to play a club team because we couldn't find a 10th team to play.  It's not just Mount Union who can't find people to play.

Uh,  is that why BC played Shenandoah instead of CNU this year.  Last I heard was that BC coach did not want to play CNU anymore.  I could be wrong and you all knowing smiters will probably bash me with the facts.

Maybe I should come up with some witty poetry on the FOOTBALL site.

I take great "Pride" in getting all the jokes and keeping my "wits" about me.  :)  I hope there is a great game at POMOCO this weekend.  Sorry, I won't be C-N-U there.  Peace

Prideguy...if it's raining do you think that will hurt GC's offense. Looking at the stats most of GC's yards come through the air, is that because they have trouble running or just because the passing game is that good?  If it's a wet field and a wet ball it could a slop fest which generally favors the team that can run the ball better.  However from what I've heard CNU's field dries really quick so as long as it's not raining during the game it may not matter.
Good luck to GC and tell them to stay out of that breakfast buffet place ummmm) down the road from CNU.  We used to eat there for breakfast everytime we went to newport news and couldn't move during the first quarter.  ;D

Uh you are partially correct and no smiting here. ;) BC replaced CNU with Ferrum or LaGrange however you care to look at it. Yes not playing CNU was a calculated decision based on the new playoff system. In BC's case, its just smart scheduling. 1) If you go undefeated in non-conf. games, lose a conf. game and don't get your automatic bid you are still in. 2) If you can go 10-0 you stand a much better chance to host playoff games throughout. It was decided that BC would rather play CNU in the playoffs. Uh, and the if you play tough teams during the regular season you are better prepared for the playoffs doesn't fly. If you lose those tough games and don't win your conference you are setting at home anyway. BC has proven the formula works since they have only been ousted once in the first round of the playoffs in the last six years. As for Shenandoah, we have played them for the last 5 years.

I know DI schools sometimes have non-conference teams scheduled for 5-10 years ahead of time.  Obviously, DIII schools must have a little more flexibility than that or they wouldn't be able to schedule new programs (such as LaGrange) on relatively short notice.   Typically, what's normal for a DIII program as far as knowing their schedule ahead of time?  Is it set years in advance or is it something the AD's still working on in the spring before they play that fall?
