Ballguy,

I admire your belief in your team! They have improved. But (you knew that word was coming) I really don't think this game will be close. If the weather is really bad and it shuts down the GC passing game...and turns into a Hilliard highlight show...it could get ugly. Although, at times Hilliard has a difficult time keeping his footing. Who really knows? we'll find out Saturday.

Given the forecast - are th GC faithful still heading up for the game?

CNU,

I think if it is raining, that it will turn into a field position game. Our punter Chirs Palme is doing a good job pinning team in deap in thier own territory. Last week at Guilford, he pined the Quakers inside the 20 3 times. He has really improved over the span of one year and that includes the field goal kicking as well. So it is going to be interesting to see if the field position battle will tell a different tell this year compared to last years game.

Yeah but was he punting in 30 mph wind on a soaked field?? I know the tarp is on the field right now, but when they take that thing off at 11 am and the rain is still coming, a slick ball on a slick field does not make a punter great.

I just got to the thirties and meet the rest of your criteria.  Oh yeah did I read this years benefits correctly?  Are we allowed to go to presidents box at half time?

Depending on the amount given to the Captains Crew. I think to get into the Presidents box for football, you have to give $2,500. No Presidents Box for me!! I can get into the Presidents Room for basketball - that doesn't have as high of a target.

you could still be playing CNU each year...but the coach chose to play Southern Virginia instead! He was worried about a physical game before the HSC game and conference play.

Okay, fine, we admit; we were and continue to be scared of mighty CNU.

2002: BC 25, CNU 6
2003: CNU 16, BC 12
2003: BC 26, CNU 3 (playoffs)
2004: CNU 21, BC 16

Series is tied 2-2.  BC's two wins were convincing, CNU's weren't.

Also, it seems we played you all during your best years.

So we should be the ones disappointed we don't play anymore. :)

Yea I may be a lil late on this reponse but so what.  Come on kid your a stats guru and this is the best statistical come back you had.  Let me see if I can get this quote remotely correct. Coach Clark "02" take on the CNU/BC series. "CNU is going to be a pretty good team. The first year we will blow them out, the second year they will get a little better and the third year they will be real competative".

Lets see, going by kids stats and what the stats guru failed to explain to make his point Was that in "01" the mighty Eagles played in the Stagg Bowl. The final score was 25-6 but it was 6-0 at halftime. Bwater forced a couple more turnovers in the later quarters to score 25 pts.  Another thing kid failed to mention was that while CNU's offense really failed to move the ball, Bwater offense moved the ball fairly well and eventually won the field position battle.

Lets see "03" the year we were supposed to play them a little better and the year that the Eagles came down to show CNU that it was a fluke that we played them decent  the year before.  Well damn I guess CNU decided to skipped a few steps and punched coach clark and his team in the mouth by winning 16-12.  And yeah we only won by 4 pts but kid you can look this up. CNU has never been known to be an offensive juggernat team. BC however put 80 pts on the board the week prior to playing CNU and was thought to have one of their greatest of all time offensive teams coming to Pomoco.  And yeah Im sure you are going to bring up the playoff game but remember kid when you post the score. Don't forget to mention that CNU turned the ball over 5 times, had maybe 100 yards of total offense, stayed on CNU's side of the field, but still only managed only 26 pts. Now Im not by anyway trying to take away from BW victories but when you really break down the physical make up of both teams those Blowouts/convicing victories get looked at in a different way.

And you might try to say that all of our wins came in Hampton roads area. But remember  the decision was made by your head coach to give up your home game to play us in the oyster bowl.

That is very ture I think it is going to be interesting to see who can hold onto the ball the most that will be a big key in the game with the conditions being the way that they are. So what I am say whoever wins the turnover battle will win the game.

Goose Congrats on the 900 posts, and thank you for the Karma.

As for the 30mph winds and a soaked field no.  But Palme did kick with soup all around.  It was the Souper Bowl.  (Yes, that was a corny joke.)  ;) :D ;D

CNU85-You have a leak, and I was going to come over for dinner tonight.  Just Kidding.  My next post I will be at the Hotel.  Good Luck tomorrow.

dang ...talk about panties getting all wadded up. I just said the same thing as Llamaguy, but didn't go into the details about the GM club team, Thomas More etc.......and y'all freak out.  Olinemom made the comment about it's hard to schedule tough teams......I just said that the CNU/BC series could have continued...nothing more ...nothing less.....Llama (or maybe someone else) mentioned the reasoning was the way the playoffs are determined for at-large teams, etc. I agree it was smart scheduling by the coach....he figured out the rules, and then found a way to make them work......

I didn't say anything about who beat whom and by how much and what year and who was in their prime years, etc.

Personally, I was hoping that the CNU/BC series would turn into a true in-state, fierce rivalry.

I'll try not to make simple statements based on fact anymore, if it upsets you guys that much.

No panties in a wad here.. we have our own inter-conference rivals to play games against.. personally as a former BC player the CNU game never seemed that interesting when compared to the BC/HSC and BC/W&L match up. The W&L game is pretty intense as they are only about an hour south of Bridgewater and they always come prepared to play.  I would also argue that for the years the we played CNU the HSC/BC game truly determined the best D3 team in VA.  Hell the BC/SU was more fun than playing against CNU.   Those are all true in-state rivals who for the most part give BC good games every year.   But  back to your original point Coach Clark made a smart move by creating a scheule that best suits a team that has a chance to make the playoffs.   But I'd argue that the CNU/BC game was always a side note on the schedule when compared to the other ODAC games which are both always within the state of VA.

CNU85 what you said was right and yeah if you say anything about  the great Bwater college football team their fans will come down on you with everything they have. No one and I mean no one can say a word about Bwater team or coaching staff without being wrong.

You have the nerve to say as of lately the BC/W&L BC/HSC games where more intense than with CNU. Now I will give a few of the HSC games because they were D3 instant classic becuase of how they ended. And then you go as far as to say the SU/BC game was better.  But then I started to put 2 and 2 together.  YOU WON ALL OF THOSE GAMES OF COURSE THATS WHY THEY WERE THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. You said for the most part give BC a good game every year. In 04 your defense and special teams defeated SU without your offense but yea that was a pretty intense game.

And then you have the nerve to say the HSC/BC game determined the best team in VA the last few years.  I just have a hard time swallowing the fact that the second best team in the state could spot you a 21-3 or so at halftime and then find a way to lose.

And I am also tired of hearing what a smart move Clark made by dropping CNU. Bwater wants to group themselves with the Mount Unions of the world by saying they are running out of teams to play because teams don't want to play the BEST DAMN TEAM IN VA. But  YOUR COACH HAD THE NERVE TO DROP A TEAM THAT WAS WILLING TO PLAY YOU EVERY YEAR FOR THE LIKES OF So Va. or Lagrange.  TO ME IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE RUNNING OUT OF SCRUB TEAMS TO PLAY.  As a player the CNU game was never that intense or important. So why get rid of it then? The reason behind dropping CNU was that you guys played HSC the week after. That statement is what it is, bottom line is CNU was to tough of a team to play before the HSC showdown. Coach Clark is so smart coach Clark made a great move. Their are so MANY BWATER FANS THAT POST ON HERE THAT YOU CAN MAKE ANY SITUATION SOUND JUST IN MOST PEOPLES EYES.  Well im here to tell you that people like CNU85 and myself  see that situation for what it really is.  And I know others see it that way as well but they don't want to rock the boat and awaken the many Bwater followers. Personally I don't care and IF YOU EVER THOUGHT I DID JUST CHECK MY KARMA.   ;D ;D :o

And Bwater fans can say what ever they want about me and CNU football. But Rowan has beaten us every year and coach K still had the balls to schedule MHB the following week. And unlike your team we have yeat to go undefeated in our conf so you would think we would be the ones looking for an easier schedule. New posters just view BC as the Bullies but I haven't forgotten that before the last 6 seasons BC was the red headed step child.

WITH GREATER RISK COMES GREATER REWARD.

Llamaguy

Is it not every team's goal at the beginning of the year to win a Nat'l Championship?
Scheduling anybody anytime is balzy but will it help you toward your goal EACH year? CNU has proven to fair well so far but it hasn't helped them win playoff games and in some cases has kept them out of the playoffs altogether. I'll accept that BC runs from tough competion during the regular season (lol), but I will also stand by BC's performance against those same tough/playoff teams in the playoffs each year. I guess I just enjoy watching BC Football play after Thanksgiving.

I do agree with some of your points finest, especially the BC/HSC being the battle for best in VA.  That has not been the case for a while.

Dear lord.. now that is a entire 6 pack of panties in a wad!  :D  I don't have the time to go into everyone of your thoughts but I for one know that BC CAN do wrong as can the Coaching staff.. I saw a few things first hand... but to debunk your entire post all I have to do is go to your last line.
QuoteWITH GREATER RISK COMES GREATER REWARD.
Until CNU does something special outside of winning their conference(*which is deep this year)  I fail to see your point.  Just as BC schedules a team like SU or LaGrange, Rowan sees CNU as a good warm up for their tougher teams as does MHB.. now this year MHB got bit in the butt with that gamble just as BC almost did with SU a few years ago.  Until CNU advances deep into the playoffs I would stand by the fact that your statement doesn't apply to CNU.  It's nothing personal but your CNU-Spin is no different than those of us that spin positive things about BC.. it's all about what Kool-Aid you drink or what pair of rose colored glasses you wear.  BC dropped CNU.. it seems to have hurt CNU's feelings more than it has BC's because we've moved on.
