So I guess that 27% winning percentage against Top 25 competition does make Bridgewater's cupcake, scared to play the big boys record look pretty bad, aye?  :o

Get into the playoffs and actually win more than you lose, then we can talk about CNU the mighty Top 25 killers. :D

Hey finest,

if you are who I think you are, did you get held a much as 97 did in 2004 against W&J?

I was there and his shirt looked to be stretched out on every single play.

Now that right there is just plain hilarious! :D

Dude, just trying to figure out who he is.

AdmiralPapi

the only thing that matters is making it to the national championship game which i think we all can agree on....last time I checked BC would have only made it to the national championship game unless they had that bogus time keeper keeping time for the game!  I'm not a CNU fan by any stretch, come on...that was the most obsurb thing I've seen in football in a long time!
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

CNULifer

Hey thanks for the time to figure that out.

I was just trying to see how many games we played against top teams since 2001.  15 for CNU and 17 for BC.  Not bad.  We play the best that we can every year.  Even if we don't make the playoffs.  As a fan that is awesome.  we don't have to wait for playoff time to see a good football game and have great experiences traveling to some of the best schools in DIII.  Would be nice to not travel with defribulators though.  Don't you BC fans get bored with stomping the same old teams every year.

Dude, just trying to figure out who he is.

By crying about someone who's number was 97 and was HELD all day by W&J in 2004?  ;D

Papi,
The National Championship comment refered to why BC or any team schedules itself the best way possible to get into the playoffs. I can guarantee that if you are not invited to the playoffs, you will never win a Nat'l Championship. Check the posts, no where was it even mentioned about BC's appearance in the 2001 Nat'l Championship game, atleast by me. I saw the clip just like the rest of you and have never once bragged about making it to the Stagg Bowl. The NCAA made the decision not to overturn the result and I don't even address anyone about it anymore. Wouldn't want to live in the past you know! ;)

Bridgewater has gotten a lot closer than CNU has, fwiw.

WOW even the great Pat C. is a Bwater fan.

*insert a bunch of dumb stuff*

Again, you CNUers are missing the point.

Pat stated a fact.  He's not one to elaborate, he simply hopes the posters and readers of the board are smart enough to get it.  Clearly not in this case.

So I'll do the elaboration for him;

Bridgewater's football history: http://bridgewaterfootball.com/playoffhistory.html

I couldn't find a page on CNU's playoff history, so this is what it would look like...

2004
CNU def. No. 18 Salisbury by 11, then lost to W&J by 10 (who then lost to MHB by 36)

2003
CNU def. unranked Muhlenberg by 4, then lost to Bridgewater by 23 (who then lost to MUC by 66).

2002
CNU lost to W&J by 14 (who then lost to Trinity by 35)

I surmise a couple things here. You had one nice win, against the Gulls (on the road). Other than that, you had a win against unranked Muhlenberg. The three teams you would lose to would eventually lose by tons (yes, including BC). What does this mean?

I'd venture to say that playing tough non-conference opponents during the regular season has prepared you for beating who you should beat, and losing to whom you should lose to.  Doesn't sound very productive to me.

Now, do us BC fans think we are MUC?  Absolutely not.  What I do know is that Bridgewater's "cupcake" regular season schedule has put us in a group with only Mount Union and Trinity, as one of three schools to make the playoffs the last six years.  Not impressed because we had a "cupcake" schedule?  How about this...

Over the last six years, here are the schools I found with at least five playoffs wins (I also included first round byes)...

SchoolWinsByesTotal
1Mount Union21526
2St. John's15116
3Bridgewater10212
Linfield9312
5Rowan8210
6Trinity707
7Mary Hardin-Baylor505

Not bad company to be in for a school who dodges regular season competition.  Something must be working right.

Except for Rowan, from the East Region, everyone else has made the Stagg Bowl.

Pat Coleman

Yep, and Rowan made the Stagg in 1999, so it's not like they're chopped liver either.

LLama give em he!!.

CNU fans ... at least you have a passion

Pat ... When does your dictionary of explainations come out so there edgy cated Cnu fans can GET IT?
Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

CNU85

Man, I leave the bored for 1/2 a day and it lights up. A few things to say:

1. Kid - you and are good - I like the banter.
2. Llama - great guy...a little slow
3. CNU LIfer - can't be older than 24......
4. all others - don't lump me into the same category as "CNUers" when you are responding to comments from Lifer....I like his passion, but don't necessarily agree with his comments
5. Last comment on the BC issue - I just made a simple reply to Olinemom about her compaint about not being able to schedule tough teams....we forgot to ask her....maybe she never considered CNU a tough team....who said she was even talking about CNU?  ;D

Finally - my prediction for today's game...if it's still on... I hear thunder.....this will be a low scoring game due to the weather. It's not currently raniing but the entire area is soaked........GC will be shutout! CNU wins 26-0....a dry sunny day and it would be 49-0.

time to go find my raincoat.....last time I saw it (oh man I could go somewhere real bad with that, llama....I'll keep it clean).....last time I saw it llama wanted to borrow it!!!

here's what i don't understand...coach clark admitted that he didn't want to play cnu because he thought it would interfere with preparations for hsc...why are you guys arguing?...your coach came out and said he didn't want to play a tough game before such an important conference game - as fans, you can't then claim that you can't find tough games...you've got a tough opponent who is, no doubt, willing to play you and they're right within the borders of your own state - sorry, but you can't have it both ways...your coach can't dodge cnu because they would interfere with preparation for hsc and then have the fans claim you can't get a tough game

i normally think those at private colleges are much more intelligent than those at a public school, but i've got to side with the cnu folks here (wow, did i really say that ???)
