Uncle Jessie

Did anyone see the NBC news tonight? It showed the segment about D3 football and Shenandoah football. It was suposed to be shown on tomorrow nights news at 6:30. Im not sure if it still will or not. But it was a nice news clip. Had some great clips of the Hornets in action at Shentel and also some interviews of some of the players and others on campus. It might be shown tomorrow night so take a chance on watching NBC news 6:30. Great to see the Hornets and more important D3 football get national attention.

Y'all can email me and I'll predict all the scores for ya!!

CNU85..."The Greek"

hey - one last thing about today's game...then I'll drop it and think about a tough game coming up......

The daunted GC Pride secondary.....the weather prevented a passing game so I couldn't see them in pass protection......BUT.....when CNU had the ball on it's own (around) 38 yd line and it was 4th down....and they passed DEEP into GC territory...why did the GC player intercept it and get tackled on the 32? Ummm.....if you're smart and aware of what's going on....as Tom Jackosn would say...KNOCK THE BALL DOWN!!!! That was dumb......my immediate reaction was, "whatta  moron....better than a punt". Mental mistake......There was a timeout before the play......the coaches should have been saying....knock it down.....discipline!

Hey, why can I not be say 31,  a 2000 Business Grad, a real estate broker / VP and an owner of a construction / Development company?  did you not read my ealier posts?

dang......way too much info.....I just said don't lump me in with your comments when other fans were saying"you CNUers"....didn't really care about what you did for a living or how many companies you were a VP for.......next you'll be telling us if you hang your toilet paper from the top or bottom!!!  ;D It's a joke!!! Chill!!! I'm giddy when we win and I almost get the score right!!

Quotewrighthall220,

I would rather be the child with its hand raised against the big bad guys instead of running under the porch like a whooped dog.  Yeah BC is good and have been good for while.  We are the new kid and we want what you have got.  Is that why you guys focus on coming down on CNU supporters so hard.  Are we taking the attention from you guys just a little.  2-2 heads up is not too shabby from my side of the field.  Again many thanks to LLama for the add space.

That's not the case at all.   A few CNU fans made some remarks that were base less and we defended our school/team.   If you look at the comments made I think it's safe to say that the BC fans have provided FACTS to back up their statements and CNU fans have provided TALK.  There's a big difference there.   By the way attention is nice.. but what are you talking about?  Are you still "living in the past" with the UMHB game?  That was a great mark for CNU.. but you all need to continue that type of play into the playoffs before you can claim that it "helped you".. playing with the big boys is great.. BC does it every year when it's a bigger deal in the playoffs.  The schedule is what it is.. from my experience with D3 football ANY team can win on ANY give weekend.. you all proved that earlier this year.  But you have to ask yourself.. would you rather have the BIG win early in the season or in the playoffs?  BC has had their "BIG" wins in the playoffs which is where the respect comes from.    By the way pick up the recent VSR if you want an article/blurb on the CNU BIG win.. you know the one with Coach Clark on the cover!  ;)   I'm sure BC will play CNU again.. but right now we have our OWN goals and it doesn't involve you all.. maybe some of your fans can focus on the goals of CNU and quit looking at our schedule.. because it doesn't mean much to complain about a teams schedule that's not even in your conference!

cnusfinest54

So I'm going to take a guess and say CNU has made the Quarterfinals of the NCAA DIII Football playoffs 4 times because BC has been there 3 times.. how about the Semifinals? Do you want to go there? Why are you all so upset? We're currently 10-6 in the playoffs.. how many wins does CNU have?   It's not like we stood you up for the prom.. it's not like we're in the same conference.. join the freaking ODAC if you don't like Bridgewater.. hell make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs and we'll talk.  Bridgewater EARNED it's spot and we've played well EVERY year we've been in the playoffs.  To be honest with you, once you make the playoffs your previous schedule is meaningless.   This debate is truly funny as it seems like you all were stood up for the prom..we told you we found better dates and we're sorry but  we just don't see things working out right now.  Maybe we'll all kiss and make up at a certain point but we've got our own goals..and CNU just doesn't fit the bill.  Sorry.  :D

Your a funny guy to say the least. I got this one from your friend llama.

Wronghall2dummy,
Are you actually reading the post or are you just skimming them?

Read what provoked the reponses and you'll find your answer.

No one has denied the recent success of your program for starters.  Your just mad because your 01 title game appearance should have an * beside it like Sammy Sosa and Big Mac home run record.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Talking about being stood up for a prom and better dates. We picked up Super Models and your coach decided to play the sisters of the poor. (if you catch my drift)  ;)

And as far as fitting the bill. Sorry dear but your own COACH said that we were to tough to play in the regular season.  So basically the coach of the team that has 3 quarter final, couple semi finals, and 1**** lol National title appearances is scared of an upstart program.

So Ima spit some of your verbage back at you and say. " This debate is truly funny as it seems like you all were stood up for the prom"

i know you didn't ask, '85, but i thought you might like to know that i hang mine from the top...it's really the only way to go

here is the mc/au box score, for those that care - au plays turnover free and gets some big plays to win...i forgot about the snap over parks head taking the monarchs out of fg position in the first half until i read the play-by-play - pretty nice day for hill and matthews running the ball - hill with 133 yards and 3 td's...gives him 9 on the season, if i'm not mistaken

85 I said the same thing when the Gboro player caught the ball. Selfish!!!!

Thats called a PLAYER PUTTING HIMSELF AND HIS INDIVIDUAL GOALS AHEAD OF THE TEAM.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh mmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnn the words of Coach K.

PrideSportBBallGuy

Let me get caught up.  Lack of discipline on the players part.  I don't know if you can put all the blame on the coaches, because it is not them.  Although I do think the calls were the right calls, but I can't believe that CNU had only one penalty.  Like I said rain is a great neutralizer.  It pour the whole first half.  The only problem though, pride is built around the pass, rain was a factor in the first half on offense.  I said field position was key and it was. CNU scored 14 of the 28 points within 2 yards of the endzone. I learned some things today.

FC won't win the conference.  I still think it is up in the air for everyone else.

Blame it on the rain or not CNU is not a #21 ranked team.

This conference is balanced top to bottom.

GC win over Maryville was a big win (They beat NCWC and FC)

My next post will be the keys of the game recap.

PrideSportBBallGuy

I couldn't keep this back any longer.  Here are the Keys to the Game GC vs. CNU

Greensboro

Score First- They didn't score at all. Which is a good reason why thy lost.

Control the Clock-Lost the time of pos battle

Avoid costly penalties-3 first downs for CNU of penalties.  Ejection lost our starting MLB.  Again reason we lost

CNU

Run the Football- 93 rushing yards in a sloppy game. Solid

Score Often-2nd half poured it on when it counted

Don't Turn the Ball Over-only 3 TO's to GC's 7. They did a solid job.  The reason they won.

Damn I am good :D ;D

Eh-You

Dude - SHUT UP - Gboro got DRUG 28 -0 and you're dogging CNU. I've never pulled for CNU harder in my life. Greensboro is a bunch of athletic thugs with no discipline who will be happy with one win (hope it isn't against AU).
Methodist folks - nice effort today. Your guys are coming along well. Averett was lucky to get out with a win. Two things:
The kicker (#18) has a bazooka for a right foot!
Why didn't the other QB play?
To all newbies - don't run your mouth until the team you're pulling for wins the big game. (please refer to Eh-You's karma for more details)

i'm not sure if bartee is hurt, or if parks has won the job, but i'd like to see bartee used creatively if parks is going to get the majority of the snaps...that kid is a special athlete and needs to get on the field somehow, even if he's only a decoy...the defense has to account for him when he's on the field - i thought au showed a lot of poise and both teams had an answer for everything the other one did...hughley is a beast, and absolute monster - i said the same thing 2 years ago when he torched the monarch secondary, and today mc had no answer for him either...if you don't have him, you don't win, simple as that

PrideSportBBallGuy

what did I say that said I dogged CNU.  You all should be happy that I said CNU wasn't deserving of the #21 ranking.  Makes Greensboro look bad.  I said FC won't win.  I said it is still up in the air for everybody else.  That includes CNU and AU.  When CNU has a sustained drive where they are pinned back deep or not at the 35 yard line.  Grant it they make the best of everything they get.  I still think CNU is the team to beat in the conference. I haven't dogged anybody.  The only team I have dogged is AU.

I agree CNU is not the #21 team. I would have to say if it was a Prefect day that more than likely the Pride would of gave them a run for thier money in that game.

CNU85

Perfect Day would equal 49-0 CNU. I'm The Greek that predicted a 26-0 score today!!!

Bballguy -  If a team lacks discipline it's the COACHES fault. No other way to look at it. If there was a lapse in discipline by 1 player, you could say it's the player - but usually if it is limited to one player, he doesn't stay on the field very long - the coach will sit him down. Take a look at CNU's leading rusher, scorer in the first year, Kaveh Conaway - didn't play another year - thought he was a star, didn't need discipline - Coach sat him down in the game of life.

Too many personal fouls, late hits, throwing of helmets, player ejected, shirt tails hanging out, some wearing knee socks, some not, the team playmaker letting a punt drop at his feet instead of making something happen, intercepting a ball on 4th down and not realizing the game situation.....all a lack of discipline.......GC did not look like a football TEAM! They looked like a bunch of athletes who happened to put together a pick up game. It is the COACHES FAULT. I feel bad for some of the players...they played their hearts out, but the team will not get there. The players are being cheated of the last few years of their football careers by these ocaches. I said all of this 2 years ago on this board.......it's sad.

and please....when the game is sloppy and you get schooled 28-0...CNU scored on special teams, with defensive turnovers setting up the offense, and by the second string mounting a 59 yard drive.....don't start with the "if only...we would of" Again if the weather was perfect GC still would have been shut out! You say CNU isn't the 21st ranked team.......maybe so...but you just got it handed to you by a top 15 defense. GC has yet to give CNU a good game...closest was last year at GC and  still lost by 13.

@ GC  2001 35-10;   2003 42-10  2005 28-15
@CNU 2002 27-13, 2004 31-7, today 28-0

That's 0-6 and 191-55 in scoring, CNU has never scored less than 27 and GC has never scored more than 15.

conference comments next......
