CNU faithful,

My fellow BC fan, Olinemom, means not what she says.  Her posting at 4 in the morning should be evidence enough that she doesn't even know what she's saying.

Personally, I've never had a problem with CNU players, staff, fans or the Newport News area.  The four games we've had were fun (nerveracking, but fun), and I think your campus has gotten a lot nicer over the last 10 years.  Keep up the good work there!

personally, i have to disagree - i thought the au fans at the mc/au game yesterday were very supportive of their team, and they brought a nice crowd that was pretty vocal - the mc crowd was decent, but they sat on their hands most of the game - i wish the monarchs could have a more significant home-field advantage - we're one of the largest schools in the usasac, but too few of the students go to and get loud at games...makes no sense to me

I am just saying that the last time that I saw the poll it was only in the coaches poll. Well you are in there for now untill the Scotts knock you out of it one week from today.

Way to be up to date. You'd think you would have been prepared, might want to think before you speak next time. Just a thought.

Narch - their basketball fans used to be obnoxious and annoying. They would sit behind the visitors bench even tho that was against USA South policy and make a huge and annoying racket. I do however commend their spirit in cheering for their team. They have calmed a bit now but still make a heckuva lot of noise which is great considering how far that program has come since Jimmy Allen took over. As for their football fans, couldnt tell ya. They sit on on the other side of the field!

Oh kid, you are so sweet.

Wow, I've never had another dude say I was sweet.  I mean, I don't know what to say. :o

Joking aside, I appreciate the kind words.  I felt like I needed to say what I did about CNU because of some of the stuff being misconstrued by BC and CNU fans on here.  I was simply posting playoff performances by BC and CNU as being proof we don't need to play a tough non-conference schedule.

I think BC and CNU both have fine programs that have things heading in the right direction to hopefully one day compete with (and defeat) the Mount Unions of the world.  CNU beating MHB certainly is a sign that might happen sooner rather than later.

I sure hope we see eachother in the postseason!!  We have a couple tough games ahead (at Guilford, vs. W&L) and you all, as stated, still have Averett to go.  Even if we limp in with one or two losses, I'd love to tailgate with the Captain faithful!!!

They still are, and they still sit behind the bench of the visitors.  I have made that trip the past two years, and they are still there.

(GC has the calmest fans, thats because they don't have anyone show-up)

Basketball we have had better attendance.  Student Activities director at GC, told me that the Girls Basketball, out drew Men's basketball.  We all know why.

BballGoof - Why would you say that AU considers Gboro its rivals?
To all newbies - don't run your mouth until the team you're pulling for wins the big game. (please refer to Eh-You's karma for more details)

BballGoof - Why would you say that AU considers Gboro its rivals?

Because they have said it.  They come down every year to Greensboro and trash our campus.  They come down and paint the rock in the middle of the campus.  They do it for basketball and football.  Our fans do the same back to AU.  It is the closest school to them.  I believe Fox8 has dubbed it a rival.

Narch, Three things could help the MC home field advantage: 1) All the MC athletic teams have home games the same time as the home football games.  Students seperate, and the other athletes can't support each other. 2) I don't see this happening any time soon, but I think they should build huge, new home stands opposite the one we have now.  Nice press Box, and the whole nine yards. There is plenty of room.  It would help with recruits, and more fans would come. If you build it, they will come! 3) Advertise the games.  Only die hard fans even know when the Monarchs play at home.  You either have to go to school at MC, or you have to get on the website to find out when MC plays.  They need to let people in the community know that their team is playing.

I loved playing at home.  I always felt we had a great atmosphere, and we usually had a good turnout.  I just feel those are three things that could help increase the home field advantage.

P.S. I was up for most of the game as was my wife. She gets more into the game than I do.

I've been away for the weekend (I had great seats and the Carolina Panthers won 20-12!), so I've tried to play catch-up this morning.  In graded form, here are some observations from posts over the past three days:

Sheer Volume - A+  Sorry, but I had to skim some of the Ferrum play-by-play.
Unmigitated inflammatory BS - B+  Wow! lol
Fun to read - I'm not an alumnus of a USASAC school, so I don't care who you tee off.  Nice job, posters!  :)
Football knowledge - C  Thankfully, some of you who do know your team's assets from holes in the ground game helped balance this a bit.
Grammar - D  Again, wow!  Did I say wow?  I've gotten past the homonyms.  Heck, if I said something about those every time, I'd have no time left for sleep.  Here is one tip, however, it's "two halls of fame" and not "two hall of fames."  Attorneys General.  Brothers-in-law.  You get the picture.  :)

Anyway, thanks for the entertainment.  Good luck to everyone this weekend.  The conference race should be fun the next five weeks.

Rocket, I agree with you.  Same thing at Guilford.  There are too many competing events and the games are not highly touted, but I think that is partially the nature of DIII.  I also think MC needs a stadium upgrade.  I know the new facilities at Guilford have helped recruiting and made the game atmosphere more enjoyable.  If the Monarchs play in Greensboro next fall, I hope some of you will make the trip.
