ROLL PRIDE ! ! !

PrideSportBBallGuy

Yeah its real early.  I am about to make the 6 hour trip back to NC.
Newbie-
They may have all the QB's out, but with the offense they run, not sure it really matters who is the QB.  ;D ;)

here are my picks:

gc 31 - su 13 - the pride are just too much for the hornets

au 31 - ncwc 22 - the bishops are tough, but the cougars are better

cnu 28 - m'ville 7 - the scots are tough at home, but cnu is focused and won't let the long trip get into their heads

mc 17 - fc 14 - this is the game i am least certain about - the monarch run defense is legit, but it will be severly tested this week and pitts is a beast - what little home-field advantage the monarchs have will be nuetralized by fall break and did i mention pitts is a beast - mc will have to play their best game to date to avoid going 0-3 in conference play

More teams need to have online broadcasts of their games. Growl... >:(

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

OK I can stop holding my breath.  Been holding it all week.

35 - 3  right before haltime.  71 yard run.  65 yard pass.  65 yard run.  Interception by CNU then 49 yard drive.  all in second quarter.  wish barnes would have held ball on pass for the other drive in 1st quarter.  Could be 42 - 3 at half.

1st half ends with a blocked field goal by CNU.   35 - 3

Maryville actually has a pretty well balanced team.  good running and passing, but not quite good enough.  Big plays were story of first half.  CNU no punts.  Maryville probably had the ball a lot longer.

So all of the naysayers can say that we can't sustain a long scoring drive.  (Greensboro guys)  They might still be right but big plays work for me.

This the first non rainy game that we have had all year.  O looks OK today.

CNU nice job.  That's what a 21 ranked team should be doing on the road.  I can't see them 15-20 after this week.

Final Averett 24 Bishops 20.

Wow, so close! Averett is winning very consistently, but they're not showing very much dominance. All of their wins are squeakers. And they're almost never covering my spreads!  :(

Looks like Guilford is going to pull off the upset 33-21 with 2:53 left against Bridgewater.  Isn't d3football great.

I guess that means Greensboro could take out bridgewater in regulation (just a little joke)

Hold that thought.  33-28 with 2:47 left

Man,  we almost gave that one away.

Final

CNU 48 - Maryville 31

Someone needs to tell the D that you still have to play after leading by 39.

the monarchs looked solid vs. fc today - offense still sputtered a bit at times, sands dropped a sure td and larkin missed 2 fg's, but the running game and run defense were working today (aided, no doubt, by the absence of pitts) - ferrum fans, your qb situation will be alright long term though - #10 runs fairly well, but really has a solid arm and gives your offense a threat to pass - mc was down 14-7 at the 1/2 and hill took the first handoff 60 yards to the house to open the 2nd - ferrum never really mounted a drive in the 2nd half - no box, but i'll bet mc held the panthers under 150 on the ground and had over 200 themselves - 3-3 and going to pomoco...

Very True though MC won't go away.  That's what happened when GC played MC.  Grant it CNU is a much better team.
