Eh-you.  As much as I dislike AU.  I want the USASAC to have two teams in post season play.

That still doesn't change our friendly "wager" on this game ;) - you haven't forgotten I hope!
To all newbies - don't run your mouth until the team you're pulling for wins the big game. (please refer to Eh-You's karma for more details)

Newbie,

I was ahead in my fantasy league match up as well.  The other guy had a Chicago WR and their Defense. He needed one score from either to win.....he got 2 from the D.........talk about a sucky night!!

Not sure if your fantasy league rules are the same as mine, but I got three scores from the Chicago Defense.  The 82-yard punt return for a TD also counts as a defensive score in most leagues the same as the two fumble recoveries for scores.

our league is different than a lot. It was formed in 1980 and still has 4 of the original guys in it. We only get points when a player (or defense) scores. Special teams play does not count.....it's fun stuff.

Some of the guys in my league take it much more seriously than I do, but I have fun with it.  Just for comparison's sake, I got 29 points from the Bears D last night.  It sure makes watching all the games a lot more interesting!

rex grossman sucks...

if you can't tell, he is on my fantasy roster, as well :) - i was feeling so confident in him having a breakout year that i traded away matt hasselbeck...not sure that was such a smart thing now, but you've got to play some hunches in our league...it's uber-competetive - i'm in serious danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in my 6 year history of fantasy football, and that's not a fun feeling...i just can't seem to catch a break this season - when my boys play well, i'm playing someone who has a great week...when my boys play poorly, i'm playing someone who has a better week - i think i'm gonna fire the gm and coach :)

i actually thought about starting up a usasac fantasy league a few years ago using just usasac players, but i figured that might be too small a pool of players to really make it fun

Well, Grossman certainly had an "off" night last night.  I'm still amazed that Chicago won that game or, if you want to flip it around, that Arizona lost.  Rackers is not having the year he had last year.  He probably went into hiding last night.

Eh-You,

Is there room for another Averett fan on this board?

The Cougars were fortunate to come away with a win last Saturday at NCWC.  I hope to see a more focused AU team on saturday.  This is the first common opponent for AU and CNU.  I am anxious to see how we stack up.

Eh-You...are you coming to the game on Saturday?

kickerdad

Here is another Averett fan. I am waiting for them to play a complete game. They seem to play a quarter then go flat for 2 then find themselves behind
the 8 ball and have to gear it up in the last quarter to win. They are a
better team than they have been looking the past two weeks.

Hopefully they will put it all together the next two weeks and get geared up for CNU.

Welcome AU fans...please beware of the occasional obnoxious GC or CNU fan...most of us are ok, most of the time. If you need a stat, ask Narch for an analysis.

I'm glad the CNU game aginst AU is at POMOCO.....can't wait for that one...but first I have to go watch the Captains make Narch cry!!

Thanks for the warning and information.

I wish we were playing CNU at Danville this year, before my son elected to play for Averett, I attented several games at CNU (from Suffolk) and I know you guys can draw 3000 easy, so the noise level alone will give you 7 points. Hope  both can come in undefeated in the conference, that could draw a standing room only crowd. I know Averett has several players
from both sides of the water and with family and friends they should have
good attendance as well.

The talk of fantasy sports.  I normally finish one or two every year, but then I am like Marty Schottenheimer, and fall apart in the playoffs. (Thats for every fantasy sport.)   I am not even doing it this year because I got frustrated from last year.  It was the championship game and I was playing a Bengals fan naturally he had just about every Bengal on his team.  It was the same time when they played the Colts and there was something like 80 points scored in that game.

You give me a D1 football pick'em contest i will take anyone out on this board  ;).  (Currently on the 89th precentile on yahoo.)  If only I could pick it up here on the USASAC pick'em

Am I the only American Male who doesn't play fantasy football?  If I'm having a fantasy it's sure not about football   ;)

Narch, did you just use uber in a sentence...what's the world coming to!
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

D3Newbie

Papi - This is my first year ever playing fantasy football and I've been in football for over 40 years. I always thought it was for wannabees and hasbeens.  ::)  I guess I can qualify for at least one of those.  ;D

My  youngest son talked me into starting a team with him, so it has been kind of fun . . .at least until last night. I know we're starting Leftowich in place of Grossman next week.  >:(

I certainly hope Averett takes The Pride lightly . . but I'm not sure how much that will help.  At least we don't have Grossman! (wish we had his defense!!!) :-\

ROLL PRIDE ! ! !
