Brick Crowder for GC got the Rookie of the Week by having 25 Tackles.  I think that is deserving more then just the rookie of the week.

Eh-You

All right folks - here come the Cougar fans. Nice to see the two of you posting. OF COURSE I'll be at the game Saturday.
To all newbies - don't run your mouth until the team you're pulling for wins the big game. (please refer to Eh-You's karma for more details)

Haven't missed one since the beginning of last year....

Eh-You - are you a parent or loyal fan?

This saturday's matchup between CNU and MC is going to be a big one. MC has to defend the pass against a quarterback who is ripe for the picking. He is not very accurate 66-131 attempts is not that good. I was mistaken when i chose CNU to win this game, i think MC can pull this one out. Thats what i get for letting my mouth overload my butt i guess...lol. I should have looked at the stats before i made my prediction. The QB has 8 interceptions, and only 5 passing. Rushing they are pretty good at, but so was ferrum. Noone can run the ball the way ferrum does, and MC shut them down. for a team that averages 370 a game, MC only allowed 144 all game last saturday. Do i think CNU has enough strength to run on them, no. Their offensive line does not look as good as it has in the past. they have given up 17 sacks this year, and you know what that means. If CNU tries to count for the d-line of methodist which is pretty damn good in my opinion with northern, merrit, and hayden. then the linebackers will have a huge day. Especially daryl lawrence and phillip burlingame. This defense is great and will hole cnu this saturday.

The monarchs offense will need to turn it up a notch. The o-line has looked damn good blocking for mike hill, matthews, and parks. Its time to turn it up. It will be a big load for the freshman QB to handle with 5,000 fans screaming and making noise, but he looks pretty composed and will do fine i think. last time we went to pomoco we lost a big one 49-0. But what will stick in my mind forever is the fact that when they were up 49-0, they decide to run a punt fake on us just to rub it in. CNU that was a mistake, and im sure it is still in those sr's minds right now. They are hungry and ready for contact and ready to take down the top team in the conference.

Lets go boys. Get it done.

Eh-You,

Il'l be there too.  Haven't missed a home game in a couple of years.  The GC match-up is always a good one in any sport.  Maybe we'll run into each other in the tailgate area prior to kickoff.

GO COUGARS!

... the d-line of methodist which is pretty damn good... This defense is great...

The o-line has looked damn good...

Couldn't help it.....lotsa "damn goods" in there.....too many "damn goods" for a 3-3 team and 1-2 in the conference. But some very interesting points on the stats....If I get a chance I'll look at some of the details and come up with a different, yet biased, opinion.

Ok did some analysis.... not much to say really other than CNU finds ways to win most of the games...at home....on the road.....in Tropical Storms, N'Easters, Nice weather, at night, day games, ranked opponents.....with D, with O, passing or rushing....win in overtime or with a shutout.......whatever it takes.....

Total Info - passing 66-131-8 854yds. Rushing 231-661.

In clear weather 36-65-3 510yds     95-420 (4.4 yds avg.)
Conference - 24-49-5 295 yds   113-515 (4.6 yds avg)
unranked opponents - 37-75-6 468 yds       164-747 (4.6 yds avg)

Against ranked opponents they have a negative rushing yard total.....but managed to put up 386 yds passing in those 2 games. Have 2 games with over 200 yards rushing, 3 games with over 150 yds passing. 4 of the INTs came in tropical monsoons.

2 games had over 150 yds passing AND over 200 yds rushing.

Has held 1/2 of their opponents to less than 170 total yards. Has outscored conference foes 93-34.

just useless stats to ponder...not really sure what it means but it got my mind off of work for a few minutes.

Ok did some analysis....

'85 - didn't know you had it in you :)

i think this will be a much better game than most of the pundits...you know, the guys on the south region fans poll who are already talking about how the cnu/au game will decide the usasac as though the monarchs are a given - winning in pomoco will be tough, but sooner or later the monarchs will break through - statistically speaking, i think the monarchs match up pretty well with the captains (although they haven't played the caliber opponent that cnu has played, and i don't think there are any common opponents) - i think this will be a relatively low scoring game...maybe 21-17 or 17-10...both defenses are pretty solid, although the monarchs can clearly be exploited through the air, and i think hilliard is the best rb that mc will face this year...thanks for the analysis...i'm going to expect that from you every week :)

AdmiralPapi

85--That was some damn good analysis!!!   ;D

Interesting stuff on Sportscenter.  Lets not foget Miami has had a history of discipline problems.  That time frame of 4 National Championships in 9 years. (SI covered a story why Miami should drop football)  Maybe its hard for teams to break that barrier.

Flordia International took a harder stand on the players then Miami did.  FIU lost some players for the year.  I think it has a lot to do with MONEY.

President of Miami said that this is the new Miami not the old.  I disagree and so does every other sports reporter on Sportscenter.

CNU85

thank you gentlemen.....not bad stuff for a few minutes work......but then again.....analysis is my roots...it was actually fun to pull out a scrap piece of paper and a calculator and figure stuff out. I know, I coulda used a computer....but I can remember using punch cards in computer science class......

dang....i'm old!!!

Narch - call me a pundit!!! or a die hard..or blind.....or (as my son would say) ignant! but I think CNU will be ok against MC...and that's all I'm saying...I don't need you printing the stuff out and running down to campus!!   :D
