I have thought.  (Promise it is a good one.)  USA South Football as a conference is a balanced leauge because of the preseason poll.

An unbalanced league would lead to a more predictable preseason poll.  It hasn't been all that predictable these past few years.

prideguy...you really need to put some thought into your posts...what you have said in the first post is altogether different from what you are saying in the 2nd post

in the first post  you are claiming some sort of cause and effect relationship between the pre-season poll and the balance in the league (incorrectly)

in the second post you are using the inability to accurately predict conference finish as a sign of a balanced league (correctly, so, i might add...very astute observation said with sarcasm)

more importantly, what does your boy gullet think about the balance in the league...i'd like to hear from him now that things have gone a bit south for the pride

Good points Narch....I wanna know if "Gullett has thought"

You guys have been searching for Gullett and wondering if he's still around.  Logically, according to Rene Descartes, if "Gullett thinks, therefore he is."  Problem solved.  :)

The trailing comma is not necessary. Some stylebooks might insist on them (in fact, my third grader's teacher does) but in the real world, it's not necessary.

Pat - Thanks for the BEAR facts!!!! I'll still use a trailing comma......I'm old and set in my ways!! Maybe your  third grader's teacher is a friend of mine!! Is she cute?

No idea, she's in Virginia and I'm in Connecticut.  :-\

nova - logically, i know that gullet "is" - what i want to know is this..."is he still supporting his pride through the tough times?" - it's easy to "be" when things are going well  ;)

True.  He  has been conspicuously absent since the CNU and Shenandoah games.  Deep down inside, I think the Pride fans had to think they were going to have a tough game with CNU.  It's the Shenandoah game that burst their bubble.  When you think about it, though, no posts at all sometimes make more sense than some of the things that are posted.  Less is more.  :)  Seriously, I hope they can get on track and get a few wins to end the season.  I saw some talent for the Pride in the game I saw.

85...I'm sure they are leaving tonight...but don't you go around trying to find their hotel  :D

Gullet's disapearence is a mystery.  I haven't looked for him nor do I want too.  He will show up when Gullet is ready.  We only have room for one person to make far fetched comments about USA south and the pride.  Even then, mine are not quite out there like Gullett's are.

The spreads for Week 8 of Pick Your Knows.

10/21
Methodist (+19.5) at Christopher Newport
Greensboro (+16.5) at Averett
NC Wesleyan at

National
Springfield (+16.5) at St. John Fisher
St. Norbert at Ripon (+21.5)

Tiebreaker: How many rushing yards will CNU get against Methodist's defense?

228

gullett - did you make a bet with someone that had something to do with not posting on this board?  c'mon, share your thoughts, man...we'd love to hear from you...

Narch, We're heading City Limits for some bull riding tonight...you in?  :o

that reminds me, i haven't posted my predictions yet:

ncwc 20 - su 10: the hornets found some positive things and their running game last week, but that was the pride defense, not the bishop defense they were running against...they keep the game close at home, but the bishops have a bit too much

au 38 - gc 21: the cougars and mr. wilson run all over the pride, and when the pride put 8 in the box to slow the running game, mr. hughley and mr. parsons take over - i predict at least one td for hughley in the return game

cnu 21 - mc 13: as much as i want to pick my monarchs, and as much as i think it will be a good game, the captains defense is ultimately too much

Captains don't forget what they did to you last year and crush the Monarchs like we did a few years back.

Damn Im good, I have to be at work at 9 but I talked my boss into letting me get off at 1. So I'll catch the 2nd half of the Captain game.

ITS HOMECOMING SO THE CROWD SHOULD BE ROCKING.

I sure hope he's still supporting The Pride - he does the radio broadcast every game!  ???

I plan to make the trip to Danville for the game. I personally think Herbin being out has hurt GC more than imagined. I think it changes some of the calls that the HC makes and puts too much emphasis on Torrey. Not that Torrey can't do it, but it is easier on Lowe when you haved a stud RB like Herbin to distract a defense - at least that is my opinion.  :-\

The Pride also needs to see more consistent play by the QB (and the receivers have to make all the catches the whole game). It seems like they make a couple of good plays, then follow with a mistake or turnover.  I wonder if the alternating QBs affects the consistency. My dad used to say that anything with two heads is a freak . . . . . just a thought.    ::)

What is the weather gonna be like tomorrow in Danville?  Thanks!  :)

KEY TO GC VICTORY:   score more than Averritt!!!

ROLL PRIDE ! ! !

PrideSportBBallGuy

what about the address of the North Campus, so I don't end up driving around Danville during the game.
