Rocket...I'll see you there next weekend. BBallGuy if you hang around I'll even buy you a drink after the game.

Seems like all year the Monarchs have had problems putting together a total offensive game.  Either we have a good day on the ground or a good one in the air.  Hopefully we can put together a total game for the next two weeks and pull out two wins to end the season with.
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

8 minutes to go 4th quarter, Averett leads Shenandoah 18-0.

Sounds like a cold and rainy night over the internet. Shenandoah has
4 turnovers. Cougars have missed two extra points kicked and one 2-point
try.

fc 35 - gc 23 - ferrum ran for 311 yards...looks like i was right about the panthers running all over gc (and pretty darn close on my score prediction of 38-27)

narch - Very nice call on the FC-GC game. You ever spend any time in Vegas?  ::)

My thoughts are brief on this one - I thought our offense appeared a little more balanced with a run first attitude. The run opens up the pass and with the QB completing 83% of his passes, they could have thrown a little more - maybe. At least the offense had some consistency and scored some points!! The Pride can run the ball and this game they proved it. Unfortunately they could not stop the run. Ferrum ate up the clock and kept it on the ground - they threw 6 times the whole game! But that is smart football if you can make it work, IMO. :-\

Two new GC offensive records were set in this loss by the QB. The 82.3% completion rate, going 17-14-0 (1 passing TD) and rushing for 106 yards on 25 carries, both new records for a Greensboro QB. :o

Maybe we got a shot against Methodist - whadayathink, narch?  ???

WAY TO RUN, PRIDE, RUN ! ! !

QUICK QUESTION: Is anyone else having trouble getting to Ferrum's website?

I don't know what Narch's opinion will be...but historically QB's better have their chin straps buckled up tight when playing MC.  We typically have a very aggressive defense, I wouldn't expect GC qb to have positive yards rushing next week....but then again...I have been wrong many times before!!

sure, every team has a chance on any given weekend...i just don't see it happening for the pride this weekend - if mike hill and joseph matthews are healthy, with the development of brandon parks, this could be a day the monarchs put up another 300+ yard rushing day - and there is no way the pride will run on the monarchs the way they did agains fc

too much going on yesterday...it was the first game i missed all eyar (either in person or on radio). looks like i picked the right one to miss! I haven't read the box score or looked at the paper yet....i can assure you CNU was not looking ahead....NCW must have just plain whipped them. My hat's off to the team and coaching staff of the Bishops!

I'd hate to be a CNU player in practice this week. And I think AU is a little more nervous about going into the den of a wounded tiger......

can't wait for next week's game!!

What can I say about the game last night.  It was solid on the offensive side.  Defense struggles, but I don't think GC has packed it in.  The offense like I said played well.  IMO usually thats the first thing that goes when teams have decided to pack it in.  No TO's a major plus.  I don't think I am gonna make the trip to methodist this weekend.  All my teams are still struggling.  High school team started 4-0 and are now 4-4.  (Should finish 6-4 and won't make the playoffs.)  Terps won saturday making them bowl eligible.  I hope my Raven's can take it to the Saints today.  Might just come out an ok weekend.

Good job NCW sometimes the better team does not always win but you just don't fall into 40 plus pts. O yeah I was meaning to respond to this post before the game but DONT EVER MENTION MOUNT UNION AND CNU IN THE SAME SENTENCE.  I forget who made the statement, dont get me wrong I am a die hard captain but as of right now we are no where near running this conference like MU does theirs or Bwater did the last few years.

I thought this team was different but I guess the Captains like to make every conf game count on their way to a playoff berth. I am sure glad the AU game is at home now.  I hope this team digs deep and defend home like we always did in the past.

And yeah 85, I don't know about now but practice was always pretty bad after a loss.  It was even more worse after a conference loss when the coaches felt it was a game that we should have won.

Bottom line is Captains still control their own destiny so its up to the seniors now.

MCol51

man, it sounds like the parks kid for methodist had a pretty good day in the air. The line pass blocked well for him to give him some time to throw the ball. Good job overall for the monarchs, just ended in a different way.

Rocket- I will be down on saturday to watch the monarchs. Delapp, me, hyslop, and a few others will be there. I may be bringing down a couple of kids for recruiting. But maybe ill see ya there.

It's been two days so I thought that its about time to start the talk about the showdown between CNU and Averett. I know all you captains fans think that with a loss CNU will fight harder, but with losing to NCWC you lost a major edge in the fact that now the Cougars know you can be beaten.

narch

what a weekend coming up!

will ncwc get win #5 against ferrum and set a school record for wins in a season (and solidify their hold on the #3 spot in the conference standings)?
i think so

will m'ville be able to defend home turf against a struggling su team?
pretty sure

will the monarchs send the pride to their 6th straight loss in front of a homecoming crowd and numerous recruits?
please, let it be so :)

will averett be able to win in pomoco and take an important step toward giving the usasac it's first legitimate champion, or will the captain pride, bruised by the battling bishops, lead them to victory?
honestly, i'm just not sure...i'd love to see that game, though

don't you love high-stakes weekends like this?

GO  MONARCHS!
