Yes, we should win. But here's what scares me......When CNU joined the league we beat FC a few years to win the playoff birth. This year, Ferrum was picked by the coaches to win the conference and they have self destructed. It would be a nice feather in their cap to beat CNU and they have the capability to do so, if they can find the pieces they've been missing all year. I'm glad it's a home gane for CNU!!

Thanks for the support.....also, I'm seriously considering going to the UMHB game next year in Texas...maybe we can get together for dinner the night before with other fans on these boards!

Legacy - very nice photos....I'm pushing a sale for you on pic #15!! I'll keep you posted!

Right on. Thanks 85!  :) That's quite possibly my favorite shot of the day.

And narch, thank you too for the compliment.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

CNU85, hope you can make it to Texas.  Come early enough on Friday to catch a HS game.  There are several top notch programs in the Belton area.

CNU85

That would be good, Bill...to watch a HS game. In this area, HS football is huge as well. I'd like to be able to see good HS ball somewhere else to see how it's done. When I was in HS, my HS and the famed Hampton Crabbers were rivals...winner of that last game of the season usually won the state championship. I can remember going to that last game and there would be 10,000 people at the game. I also remember seeing guys with clipboards walking around with shirts that said..Tennessee Coaching Staff, or Ohio State Coaching Staff. I can also remember one day in the hallsof my HS....there was our coach and (this was in the late 70's) he was with Woody Hayes (I think he was wearing bright yellow pants that day) and Dan Devine at the same time! Woody won and got 2 players.....brothers Jimmy and Sean Gayle. I'm sure you have similar, interesting stories. It's all good stuff.

Methodist @ SU- MU wins this one. Methodist does pretty good against the run, and SU cannot pass the ball. Brandon Lacey does scare me though. He has ran pretty well against us in the past, except last year. The monarchs do fine and come away with a win.

Ferrum @ CNU- CNU wins this one at home in a big way. Ferrum gets demolished. CNU are Co-Champs again.

Maryville @ Averett- AU knows what is at stake with this game. I think it will be close but AU wins it by 10. Maryville will not be a pushover though so be careful Averett. Hughley and parsons will not let you guys loose.

GC @ NCWC- The surprise team in the conference. Wesleyan is young and has leadership on their team. The QB is awesome and Terron Bush is just blowin it up this year. Wesleyan will be the team to beat next year i think.

MCol51

I would like to say i have been very impressed this year with the play of NCWC. Their running back and QB will lead next year and i think they will be the team to beat.

I think the conference is getting stronger and has every year. Look at this for an example. The conference has had two different champions every year and they have been different. CNU and SU has won it twice together, but then you got, Ferrum, Methodist, and now this year i think AU will be the other one. I think that says something for the competitiveness of our conference. Which brings me back to the discussion of why someone would want to leave the conference. Besides the fact i think NCWC, and Maryville could potentially be in the mix in the next couple of years which would mean that the only team not to have won the championship would be greensboro. Not knocking them or nothin i was just making a point. Great play this year guys its been a good year.

This board is just tooooo quiet . . . . .  ???

How bad will Greensboro beat NCWC Saturday ?  ;D

If CNU loses does that mean they don't go to the playoffs ?  :-\

Anybody still there, or has everyone gone to the gym for BB ?  ::)

WIN, PRIDE, WIN ! ! !

i'm 98% sure i'm right (although i was 99% sure the monarchs would beat the lady lions last week, too :))

How about some tie-breaker info, guys?

Situation 1
Ferrum > CNU
Maryville > Averett
Greensboro > NC Wesleyan

CNU, Maryville, Averett all 5-2.  CNU has wins over the other two.  What's the tie-breaker?

cnu because of head-to-head vs. mc and au

Situation 2
Ferrum > CNU
Maryville > Averett
NC Wesleyan > Greensboro

CNU, Maryville, Averett, NCW all 5-2.  What's the tie-breaker story?

cnu again - cnu and mc would be 2-1 in head-to-head vs. the other 3 teams, while ncwc and au would be 1-2...the 2nd level of tie break between mc and cnu would be the head-to-head win by cnu vs. mc

i believe the only situation in which cnu would NOT be the usasac rep is if au beats mc and cnu loses to fc...highly unlikely, but could happen

Ferrum > CNU
Averett > Maryville
Greensboro > NC Wesleyan

Soooo -  this would mean that Averett would represent USAC in the playoffs - right?  :-\

Hopefully, this playoff stuff will be much more interesting to us GC fans next year . . . . :(

WIN, PRIDE, WIN ! ! !

CNU85

Here's another thought...CNU can lose and still get in.....AU would have to lose as well. Or maybe all that is in the scenarios Narch spelled out that my brain just dunt wanna work that way tonight.

it's fantasy football re-entry draft night!!

AdmiralPapi

85 you've got fantasy on the brain....and it's about football ???   :o

yes...and so would this :)

Ferrum > CNU
Averett > Maryville
NC Wesleyan > Greensboro
MU > SU

in either of the above scenarios (or any combination possible combination of a cnu loss coupled with an averett win OR an averett loss coupled to a cnu win) the usasac would also have its first outright champion

CNU85

Papi......21 years of marriage will do that to a guy!!!  :D
