They've come a long way baby!

Leatherhelmet

Who is the likely opponent for CNU in the playoffs?

Congratulations, Averett!

monarchs win 9-7...hill got 121 and the monarch defense came to play, holding su to under 70 yards rushing - parks was 4-8 with 20 yds - larkin got 3 fg's and su missed a 30 yarder to win with :12 left (if i remember the box score correctly) - 4-6 isn't what i expected, but there is a lot to build on

AdmiralPapi

9-7 was that the baseball score?  That must have been one ugly game but glad to see the monarchs came out on top.

Congrats to CNU and AU on their co-championship and good luck to CNU in the playoffs!

here is the box score for the game - with the 121 today, hill falls 19 yards shy of 1000 for the season - the monarchs really need to make getting him some help a priority in the offseason - todays performance aside, he seemed to wear down a bit toward the end of the season...he needs someone to take 10-12 carries a game off his 165 lb shoulders and be effective doing it

congrats to au and cnu...those teams were clearly the cream of the conference this year and deserve their championship - cnu, rep the conference well...i have a feeling there is a trip to belton in the works for you...show those boys the first time wasn't a fluke if they are indeed who you get!

Halftime Scores

CNU 34 Ferrum 0.
Shenandoah 7 Methodist 3.
North Carolina Wesleyan 21 Greensboro 20.

The Pride did not score in the second half, so they do not make the playoffs. :'(

But they do end up wth 3 wins! That's three times last year's total! That means they are on pace for 9 wins next year!!  ;D

With almost all of their key players returning next year, they have a chance for great improvement, building on the good things they did this year. :)

Yes, I was raised to be an optimist!! You never know, but with a little work, I think the talent is there and experience of this year is invaluable. 8)

(NOTE: Always borrow money from an pessimist - they never expect you to pay them back . .  ;)  )

there's a lot of talk about CNU going on the road. I'd like to see the reasoning behind it. CNU has 1 region loss, a region win against UMHB and the only non region loss was to Rowan....I  think that deserves a home game.....a trip to UMHB (a team we beat) just doesn't seem to be the right thing to do.  A trip to Wesley doesn't seem right for round 1....W&L should go to Wesley....but what do I know?

i am a little biased in my thoughts.

Congrats to Christopher Newport on making the post season and best of luck!

Congrats on a good USASouth football season.  I hope we all get our wishes and we can have two representatives en route to the Stagg Bowl.  I can't really say if I am disappointed or relieved on the Pride season.  They have equaled the amount of wins they have had in the last two seasons.  They beat a very good Maryville team and, and beat methodist the second time in school history.  Our QB's should be back next year, plus most if not all of your secondary/defense plus most of our offense is back.  I hope with the expericence they have gained this year will help us next year, and maybe we will have our first winning season (Lost 3 games we shouldn't have lost GC, SU and FC.) Congrats on the Pride and not finishing last this year, like I said the whole year.

How can the 2004 and 2005 champs go from first to the bottom?  I guess that is d3football.

Congrats to CNU. I know that you will represent the conference very well in the playoffs. To everyone I hope that you have a safe and productive off- season. I would love to see every team be able to retain and train their players, if that occurs I truly believe that this conference will have a defining year next season. From what I have seen and heard the past two seasons the level of play and the amount of play-makers is on a constant increase.

P.S. I know I am a day late, but thanks to all of the Veterans who have served or continue to serve. God Bless You.

not even a REMOTE possibility...not close - there are a number of 1 loss teams, who played good schedules, who will be left out of the field - read the projections on the front page and start to understand the selection process by reading the playoff faq's and understanding qowi...it will really serve you well as a fan of d3 football (and, for that matter, d3 sports in general)

yeah, 'cause a tie for next-to-last and losing at home to the last place team is so much better than last place :)...i guess it's a matter of perception, because the monarchs finished with the same conference record as the pride (and lost to the pride) and, as a fan, i'm extremely disappointed with the season

but hey, congrats on being right about them not finishing last (did anyone really think they would finish behind su?)

Congrats to CNU and AU.  Great seasons.  My Scots are getting better.  Their young, only 4 starters grad out this year.  So, maybe next year we'll be more competitive.  I read these post often.  However, this is my first post.  I normally don't complain alot or make many predictions, although I do have my opinions.  However, I was really disapointed with the AU fans this past saturday.  There were alot of rude, crude and uncalled for comments from the AU fans.  I have no porblem with being excited and pulling for a team. I even enjoy old fashion ribbing between fans.  However, college football is no place for the comments I heard yelled out Saturday.  I feel very confident that MC fans would not allow this kind of classless stuff to take place at our home field. I will return in two years for another great game. Maybe the jerks, I ment gentelmens, kids will be gone so we want have to endure comments this classless the next go round.  Have a great off season and goodluck to all next year.

Narch-
If I said we will get two teams in postseason I would have said so.  I said WISHES, WISHES.

My understanding is raw at best, but I believe it was me that implied we would get 3 teams in for men's soccer and two teams in for women's soccer while others seemed to disagree.  Call that lucky or not.

I have seen QOWI at its worst at the high school level and how it works.  I would say I have a very good understanding of what makes playoff teams.  Regardless, I said WISHES.
