For all you guys that got to run into by #97 at Guilford from 99-2003 and are friends: Brian got a "payin" job at Air Academy High at the Air Force Acadamy as the D-Line coach and D Coord for the JV. That's not bad for a Quaker with with a political science degree from a school that thought he hit a little too hard for their "taste".  ;) lol

So its sounds the Greensboro area players are getting into the trenches......that's good for players.

Sorry Pat  to break the Coleman mind meld thought process. I had to jump in.

abnrgr - Congratulations to Brian.  I've been to Colorado Springs and toured the AFA.  It's a beautiful place.  Some day I'll make it back and take another walk through the Garden of the Gods.  I hope the Air Academy HS teams have great seasons!

Congrats to westbrook for being signed with the redskins. I remember him when we played salisbury in 2005, he is a great athlete. Actually the one play that sticks out in my mind, is in the third quarter we were down by 2 TD'S. We called a trap play, and Mike hill went up the middle and cut outside with noone around him. Raced for like 50 yards away from everyone. We all thought it was a TD, then out of nowhere here comes westbrook and runs him down. He is a great athlete, but an even better person. He plays with heart, and i wish him the best in the pro's.

Does anyone on this board know if we are doing the spreads pick 'em thing this year? I enjoyed that last season, it gave me something to do while i was sitting here on my planning period i could compare stats and all that good stuff.

Narch, you've been quiet here lately is everything going good or re you just swamped with admittance letters and all thatright now? Seen any signs of good talent coming in? i heard they were IFFY about Mike Hill coming back to play his senior year. If they loose him, OH BOY, it could be a long one for the monarchs.

Also for anyone on here that knows Coach Sypult, he has had surgery on his achilles tendon. It tore at practice the other day. Keep in your prayers that he recovers fully and god speed.

Yuppers, I'm planning on it again this year. Believe it or not, I even started retinkering with some of the rules about three weeks ago -- yes, I'm itching for September to arrive!

Overall, it'll be very familiar to last year's pick-em, though I'm addding some things that I hope will make everyone happy and keep the contest interesting.  ;)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Yeah from what i hear it sounds pretty painful. I appreciate you keeping him in your prayers. Any news as to how those quakers are going to fair this season. Vogelbach should have a pretty darn good year this year. However with loosing Micah Rushing, They may be full passing and let him throw the rock. What you think?

Thats awesome Legacy. Hey if ya dont mind i would like a explanation of the rules for the contest again. I wasn't exactly sure how it worked last year, i was just picking the team i thought would win, but  forgot about the spread. Thanks a bunch.

Coach Sypult is a good man. He's intense. I wonder if he 'lost his foot" up some lineman's ass ;)

No sweat, but it'll be another two or three months before I get the new rules posted -- I want to make 100 percent sure I'm happy with them and that I think y'all will be happy with them. I'll put them up on this board as well as the pick-em board to make sure that everyone sees them. And I promise, these changes are definitely for the better!

LOL! Well actually, he stays away from all the lineman for the most part. Least he did when i was there. He never really ever got onto us, simply because we had Coach Funderburk who did it enough. I hear he was doing a drill with the DB'S and it popped on him, so i know it was painful.

Legacy, Thanks man sounds good.

Perhaps you should have called him Coach Thunderfoot?  :D

Are you writing $100 checks to those that win each week. haha.  I think that would make everyone happy.

Hmmmm, if that's the expectation, I have a feeling that lots of people are going to be sorely disappointed. Would you settle for a weekly thumbs-up?

I do have one suggestion for the pick'em.  If an indivdual doesn't know the mascots of each of the schools their picks shouldn't count.  I can remeber several times where a "picker" would call Greensboro the Spartans. Anyone who knows college football knows that "UNCG" does not have a football team.

Congrats to George Jones!

Tomorrow the roster for Team USA will be announced. One of the assistant coaches is Berezowitz (did I spell that correctly?) so I imagine a few Whitewater boys will be playing. CNU will have Rob Rodriguez on the squad.
