Didn't that guy get the ax?

You build teams up the middle.  Dt, Ilb, S.   Offensive Line and Running Game.

Yeah his playoff record is horrendous.  As is mine for all fantasy sports.  I do well during the regular season, but in the playoffs I am usually one and done.  :)

narch

just ordered my d3football.com kickoff...can't wait until august 20...you boys and girls need to get yours, too!

It is really good value compared to other places and other divisions.

I'm not nearly as focused on my alma mater as you are on yours, no.

I am not as focused on Greensboro as I once was.  I know you don't have time, but you would have to go back to this basketball season to see where I was "focused"
on Greensboro. Most of my summer was spent on a different Pride team.  :)

Al Davis would say CB's.  John Madden would say OL.  I say OL.  RB's are important but a team should block for a RB (QB also) to thier strengths. I think a defense should be built on speed over size. A QB needs to be smart with the ball. As for the WR position, I want them to be big and tall.  I am talking 6'2 190lb (or bigger) guys (hard to find at the d3 level)  They don't have to be fast, but fast enough to be considered a wideout. They need to be able to catch the ball.  Since those WR are rare just make sure they are the tallest ones out there regardless. That is my imput on building a team.

20 of 28 returning starters.  Not too shabby.  Don't have time to discuss the rest right now.  Ya'll dive into it.

Thanks for posting, two things stood out for me:

1.  You have a large number of upperclassmen returners/starters, which to me is the key to winning in the USA South.  I look back to the championship teams of 2003 and 2004 for the Hornets and one of the key pieces of the puzzle for those teams was that is was a talented group of upperclassmen who went through together starting from the first two years of the program.  It culminated for the Hornets with a heck of a two year run and an NCAA playoff berth in 2004.  That is also one of the things that is, in my mind, playing well for NCWC this coming year.

2.  White jerseys?  NEVER compare GC with the cowboys...  NEVER.

I do agree with alot of what you said with number 1.  However there will be several posters that might have an opinion or two about the caliber of what Greensboro has coming back.

I have heard some great things about Caparaso at QB. Don't know much but I know he had a good high school career.

I like your other comments - very insightful. One thing though about SU. You mentioned they are 2-22 the past 2 years in conference play....maybe only losing 1 senior is not a good thing!! ;D

Just trying to save people some time in replying... ;)

I didn't discuss your point about the Cowboys and Greensboro College.  Nobody can compare college to nfl, that arguement will never hold well on these boards.  I will argue we just haven't found our Troy Aikman or Emmitt Smith yet.  :)

Enjoy the next couple days, I will be on vacation in Louisville. (I am actually going to a convention up there.) Anybody been up there?  Any good places to eat and drink? As a sports fan I am going to head to Louisville Bat Museum. If I get a chance I might head over to the race track as well. Any other suggestions?

nicely said........having 20 of 28 players returning from a 3-7 team might not be good news.

I don't know if this will help my arguement or not, but there are quite a few posters that really feel that NCWC is poised for a title this year.  They too are returning quite a few players. It might be good news or it might be bad news.

1) They play a tougher schedule
2) They play at CNU at AU and at MU (MU will be a better team and I think Narch will agree to that, a game NCWC won only 15-9. A game MU was winning until the 4th quarter. Where a fumble game NCWC a quick score)
3) In the USASouth you can't really base on year off the next. You can be near the top one year and near the bottom the next.

I just added previews for the other fall sports on thier respective boards.
