I did throw the first stone.

Olive Branch??  Kickers are ok when they win games for the good team.

I drove by a Pride practice to check out the new helmets.  They look pretty sharp.  Im curious if they will change the helmet logo??

Greensborosports.com has some interviews with Local coaches in the triad.

Hasonova,

Guilford picked up a good qb in Bennett Johnson, When I was at Northern Nash we  played Beddingfield in the endowment game.  He and the kid from Eastern Randolph both remind me of flutie.

Thanks for the information, Mosh.  A comparison to Doug Flutie is always welcome!  I have to think he'll sit at QB mostly this year and next.  I can't see anyone prying the QB duties from Vogelbach unless there is an injury or a mop-up roll.  If he's a good athlete, sometimes he can convert to another slot until he's needed at QB.  Guilford has published a roster and outlook in the attached link and I see his name.  The Quakers play three USASAC teams, so the link may be of some interest on this board.   The 101 players I count on the roster are the highest number I remember.  Thankfully, I don't have long to wait - 10 days and counting!  Thanks again and good luck!

I couldn't tell from Saturday's scrimmage if the Scots defense is suffering this year or if the offense is so good with 9 back that it just made the defense look that way.

This far in and nobody's quit - has to be a record. The roster actually went up one as trasnfer Patrick Slay (corner) arrived Friday. (younger brother of UT basketballer Ron Slay).

Any word on the kicking situation at Methodist yet?

The offense is pretty good this year.  With 9 starters coming back off an already good offense it is to be expected.  The defense is replacing a few players so they are going to be working them out this preseason.  I think it is promising to see the offense clicking so soon especially with a new QB.  The defense will step up since their coordinator is the head coach and he will make sure of that.

All right folks.....I just couldn't hold off any longer.

The games for Week 1 are posted on the USA South's pick-em board.

I invite everyone here to participate. Last year, the debut year, we had about a dozen regular participants. I would like to get at least that many again this season.

You don't have to "sign up" per se, just post your picks for the first week, and I'll know you're in. Thanks!!

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

With the season right around the corner I would like everyone's opinion on who has the best home field advantage or best atmosphere in the conf. Also, do you believe that there are any real home field advantages in the conf. I have not had the opportunity to see everyone's playing fields, yet the one's I have had the opportunity to see they all seem to have nice facilties.

I think PSBBG has some stats on that....I sorta remember the conversation awhile ago....maybe NArch had the stats....or more likely maybe PSBBG and Narch argued about it....

oh...no matter what anyone says....CNU has best homefield advantage.....no support to my comment other than it's because I say so!!

back to my second beer ;D

CNU hasn't been beated at home by a USA South opponent since their third game ever, which was waaaay back in 2001. That's what, a streak of 20+ games? I think that pretty much seals the deal that they have the best home-field advantage.

And their facilities are pretty sweet, too!

Yeah...what Ryan said!!! Nobody has beated us at home in a long time!!!

Sorry Ryan....I'm opening the third beer!! ;D

AdmiralPapi

I would have to say that CNU followed by Ferrum has the best home field advantage.
