I just want to wish all of the USA south teams Good Luck on this opening weekend. I would love nothing more than to see all of the teams end the Sat. with a "W" in the column. (I can't even believe I am going to say it) even Averett over The Mighty Mount Union. ;)

Greetings and salutations fellow USA South posters. Been a while since Ive been on here. Alot has happened in my personal life, and Ive just been too darn busy to get on here for five minutes. But I have some time now and thought I would say hello and attempt to get back into the swing of things. Hope everyone had a great summer and is getting ready for a lil college football in less than a week
Welcome back, R_T_T.  You made it just in time for the coin toss!

Here is a short cut out of a story from today's Winchester Star on 3 SU players.

"Senior offensive linemen Billy Temple and Shane Thurston and junior tight end Maurice Coleman have left their mark on the Shenandoah University football program, but none played in 2006 (and Coleman didn't play in 2005 either). Now they're all back, and the feeling is that their presence will go a long way toward making a team which prides itself on its running ability a rushing power once again. They get their first opportunity to prove it at 1 p.m. Saturday against Catholic in Washington."

After reading this story and yesterdays on Glick I'm starting to belive that maybe, just maybe it wont be as bad as many were predicting 2007 will be for the Hornets.

great article right there jessie. But hey, after you have set out a while from football, it is hard to get back into the swing of things. SU will be better than last year, thats for sure, but wont be as good as everyone is hoping for. They are just to young and inexperienced.

IT's football time baby, two more days and they are underway.

GO MONARCHS!! 2005 Conference Champs!

Over on the ODAC board there is some talk about possible problems at Hampden Sydney. Anyone on this board heard anything. A good friend of mine is a graduate of HSC and he hasn't heard anything negative at this point.

Pat if you take the cnu picture down and replace it with a Greensboro College picture for at least a day I would have no problem making the purchase.

Pat, Are any of your photographs for sale? I might be interested in some SU ones in the future.

The privilege of having a lead photo is not for sale.

And it certainly wouldn't be for sale for $8.95.

Hey guys, I'm in a "football pick'em contest" and I need some help with the Shenandoah vs. Catholic game? Who's gonna win? I live in Winchester and have heard that Shenandoah is bad. I saw that Catholic is picked next to last in their conference. So who wins?

Today's Winchester Star had another article about some SU players.  Here is a little part of the article to wet your whistle.
"They might not exactly fit into the definition of those "Old Face, New Place" graphics on ESPN, but Justin Mosser and Twaun Rhodes will be seen in front of Shentel Stadium football audiences like never before this season." http://www.winchesterstar.com/article_details.php?ArticleID=715
I don't know how the season will end up but it certainly looks like its shaping up to be one interesting season for the Hornets. Two days till kickoff. GO HORNETS!

Since the Cardinals have won twice as many games as the hornets over the past 2 years, and they are at home, I'd go that route!

It looks like we got another solid crowd (15 or so) this year for the USA South pick-ems, but I still wanted to post a reminder that anyone is welcome to join. Picks have to be in by noon on Saturday.

I wouldn't mind seeing a couple more folks join in.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Hey Ryan. I'm in on the pick ems. Am I picking against the spread? Anything else I need to know? Thanks.
