Hey Pat,

In previous scoreboards you had the games with top 25 teams listed at the top. Tht didn't happen this week. Can you bring it back. It helps show the upsets and also makes me aware of how well some teams are playing when yhey are not in the top 25......I'm not sure all that made sense....but you know what I mean.....

This was waiting on a technical issue but has been resolved -- Top 25 for next week posted as well.

Smith Reed....I take it you're a NCW fan...WELL DONE and yes CNU has taken notice of you guys. Are you coming to the game at CNU this year? Let me know...we'll get together!

CNU85

Wow...CNU is now ranked 12th!! I think the highest they have ever been ranked is 11th (I think).

UNCW received votes....nicely done. The conference is getting some recognition.

cnusfinest54

Bout time we got them Profs....  ;D ;D And what do you know a kicker played a big roll in doing so....  GREAT JOB CAPTS YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT WIN MEANT FOR US OLD GUYS.... Good luck the rest of the way and continue to make CNU history.... 1st team to ever start out with a W.... Why don't you guys go undefeated and get some revenge for the USAC by beating Mount in the NC game... I know I know to early for that but you know what they same "Aim High"....

Take it one game at a time.

CNU85

Nicely said Mr. H. And thanks for playing as hard as you did.....it was a pleasure to watch you play!

cnusfinest54

Thanks 85, a lot of people might not understand the pride us former CNU players have for our program.  We took a chance by going to a new program and no one ever expected it to blossom so fast. Private or public I know for a fact that we worked damn hard to get what we have accomplished over the years, alot of time with the weight/respect of our conference on our shoulders and with little conference support because we where a public school.

Taking a look at things Pomoco is no Alliance (Mount Union Stadium) but you have to admit its Bad News to alot of ranked opponents. Also 85 don't know if I ever got the chance to meet you but it was my pleasure playing in front of you and a packed house every Saturday. I love my current job but nothing can replace the rush of  making a big play in the 4th qtr in front of screaming Captain fans. ;) ;)

IS Averett that bad or do the Raiders belong in D2
Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

CNU85

I think Mt Union could beat some D1 schools. I think AU is just young this year and making some adjustments. They'll be ok.

CNUsfinest- I don't think we've ever met, or at least not introduced personally. Are you still around locally, or did a job take you away from the area?

Averett is not that bad, but miscues buried them in a hurry and MUC reacted like sharks in a feeding frenzy. Averett had to field kickoffs looking directly into a bright sun. The resulting fumbles gave them turnovers or poor field position. The returners kept slipping on the turf......MUC didnt.....and Averetts blocking scheme didnt hold up at all. Hey, they were playing the National Champs, you would be nervous too!

No the Raiders do not belong in D2. The enrollment and facilities would not meet the requirements. The thing that makes MUC special is that football REALLY MATTERS to them. They won the STAGG BOWL with a team of inexperienced position players, having graduated many starters from the previous year. Now those players are back and VERY confident. The opposition MUST elevate their games...and that makes all of D3 the better for it.

We will know more about Averett in a couple of weeks. However I can tell you Mount Union deservers the honor of being called National Champions. They are amazing. I saw them in Danville last year and I am sure they are stronger, faster and smarter than last year. Zero mistakes. They are well coached and display the best sportsmanship I have seen since watching DIII. The coach is first class all the way.

Section13raiderfan, you are being too modest. Mount could go D2 tomorrow and not blink and eye. Regardless of facilities and enrollment those 22 starters I saw Saturday could go against a few D1 teams without any issues.

If every DIII program could get where Mount Union is right now, there would be some hell on wheel ball games every week.

Take the car and ground her. You may want to go shoot the bum in the foot as well.
