Anyone see the Fighting Scots against LaGrange? I knew this would not be a cake walk for the Scots. Did the Scots look Ok? Is LaGrange much improved?
IMO, as stated earlier, this weeks Centre game in Danville will be the pivotal point of the year for the Scots. (despite the fact it is not a conference game) If they go on the road and beat a usually solid Centre team, I think it propels them to at least a 7 and 3 season. If they lose, 5 and 5 at best.
     GO SCOTS!!  8)

My first post here. Just want to say PANTHERS ALL THE WAY!! Ferrum baby, Ferrum.
All the way to ..... ?   A 50-7 loss at home is not exactly an awe-inspiring start, Black Panthers.

Black Panthers

Ferrum would look great with field turf. Imagine how perfect that would be sitting in the stands in surrounded by the mountains and looking at that beautiful field. But I think they need to get lights first. In fact they need to put in some major bucks to renovate the whole stadium.

This may seem like a dumb question but what is Karma, how do you get it, and would I be able to give karma to anyone else?

Christopher Newport and North Carolina Wesleyan are among teams discussed in this week's Around the Nation podcast. It's a wrapup of the interesting stories on the national scene, plus a chance to hear our opinions about teams:

Black Panthers,

Welcome to the board....we need a Ferrum fan on here. You will get abused at first - we all did. How much you get abused depends on how, as we say it on here, "how much you get your panties in a wad". Don't take things too seriously......and whew...man, be optimistic, but "Panthers All The Way"????? You opened the door for Hasanova (who asked a very good question....All the way....?? where??)

Scots won but it was far from pretty. Offense never got in sync but that was as much to do with laGrange blitzing from a different position every snap as the fact the execution wasn't up to standard. The good news was 12 hits for loss by the new defense and 9 of those were sacks for over 100 negative yards.

Ierulli told me today he was among the crowd who called to congratulate CNU (Kelchner) on a great out of conference win.

Two other MC notes from the weekly USAC awards, Dustin Locke showed why he was preseason all america as a return man. His best return was brought back by an away from the play and needless block in back but he still was over 20 yards per punt return.
The other was the defensive rookie of week, Jack Breyman. The kid was a beast in the defensive line rotation. Recovered a botched punt and took it in for the score then put one of those eyeballs roll up in the back of the head hits in on a solo sack with a couple pressures that ran the qb into somebody else. Both guys are in the Naples, Fla. pipeline that empties out in Maryville.
"Do the write thing."

CNU is HOT, I hope they can keep it up. The QB has got to make better experience decisions, the young outside corner, LB & DB have got to progress each and every GAME.  The front 4 is what the team is built around and D. Parker is finally flying to the ball like the orginal front 4 with those two quick book ends from back in the day. 8) :-X

Thanks!! Sounds like the Scots will need a better effort next week in Danville. Based on the write up, sounds like Hightower better get used to being keyed on  :o

Now no disrespect to Averett U.  but you don't take on a mighty power such as Mt. Union in the season opening, you build your team against other top 15 powers and hope you gain enough experience with them and then take on the Mt. Union or St. John in the late rounds of post season play. :o
