The Mid-Atlantic ATR is on line for this week.

Hey there "superfan", "CNWho 85", "Purple Maniac",  ;D

Have a great trip this weekend. If you run into CluAlum39 or his pops, Roocru, tell them Llamaguy said hey. They literally flew into Stone Station at the Stagg last year and tailgated with us for about 12 hrs! I know their arms were tired from flying in, but Roocru's memory was quite sharp and was quoted as saying, "I can come back to the Stagg for the next 10yrs and never pay for a drink with what I have seen at this tailgate." Wisconsin women? What can we say!

Good luck to CNU, we will consume a green bottle in SU land for CNU.

SU will surprise a lot of folks this year. they have a great defense and once their offense comes along its gonna be lights out.

Maybe so, and I hope you are right but SU is going on a season (8.8 ppg) and one game (6pts) of not much offense. Just not cutting it.

Ferrum is going all the way???? You kidding me! The only thing that looked good in that game was that running back who had 112 yards rushing. Ferrum's problem is that they could not score, they moved the ball ok with him, but they have got to have someone else pick up the load. With silk gone, pitts gone, mulford gone, it will be a long year for the panthers. Their defense is non-existent as well.
In other news, congrats to the captains again, i looked at the game notes and they were very impressive. I know i said it earlier in a post, but ill say it again, them boys may win it all this year, but this year i hope they dont choke in the playoffs. Not that they choke, but do better than in the years past. If we want the conference to get more respect and more looks from others, we need to do well in the playoffs.
WHERE IS NARCH, how are the boys lookin for sat versus those quakers?
GO MONARCHS!! 2005 Conference Champs!

great opening weekend for cnu, and ncwc played well...i'm afraid that the monarchs could be better (i think they will be), but the record may not reflect it

i'm having dreams about footballs being launched through the air by someone wearing the #16...

i hope the monarch front 7/8 can really bring some heat this weekend and keep mr. vogelbach on his heels...he'll pick the db's apart if he is allowed to sit back and find receivers...should be fun to see

I think it was more Catholic's offense stopping themselves than SU's defense being good...let's see how many Bridgewater scores this week.

narch, I plan to be at MU this weekend.  I hope we can chat some.  I think #16 will launch more than a few this weekend, but we'll see how much protection he gets.  I think Methodist will be a stronger test than SVU, so I'm not expecting 70 in any other games this season.  I took note of Vogelbach's one interception last Saturday, which is a lot better than some of his games last year.  I know it's something the coaches worked on during the off-season.  Hopefully, he's making better decisions this year.  I'm looking forward to the game!

It was against Southern Virginia. I wouldn't draw any conclusions.

Greensboro vs UNC-P Game

On the pick'em contest on here  WCLegacy made the spread even,  I was surprised by that.  If I recall UNC-P is D2 school and I don't care if it is thier first game home game in 50 years, I was still surpised even a little by it.  I learned within the past couple of days that UNC-P runs a spread offense, I think our defense matches well with a spread defense, just ask Vogelbach (we account four 21% of his interceptions the last two years) Vogelbach is a good QB, I don't think it will be fair to say that UNC-P's QB will be as good as him. I don't know what the outcome of this game will be, but I do know the outcome will not be in GC's favor, if TO's and penalities are through the roof at the stadium. I hope GC doesn't take offense to this, but leading the conference in TO's since 2003 is not a good catergory to lead. I know the players are hyped and ready to go they had the week off last week and are dying to get started. Hopefully GC gets a story on the front page for beating a D2 school  ;D

Really, don't read too much into my spread for this game. Eighty-five percent of the spreads I set based on some amount of research and some amount of gut feeling. The Gboro/UNC fits into that other 15 percent. Since I'm guessing that many people don't know all that much about UNC-P, it was an easy game for me to honor the promise I made in the pick-em rules:

3a. I will be using spreads. For those of you who don't know how that works, that means games will be listed, for example: Maryville (+17.5) at CNU. That means, if you pick CNU, the Captains have to beat the Scots by at least 18 points for you to be credited with a correct pick. And Maryville can lose by as many as 17 points and still cover the spread.

3b. As a compromise to those who aren't such a fan of spreads and want a more straight-up pick-ems approach, I will be setting many more games this year at "even" or some minute spread, such as "+1.5." Hopefully that will help keep everyone happy.

And, for what it's worth, D2 teams can be jokes as well. Just look at Chowan.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

I am complimenting your spread.
I thought your spread was good.  I don't mind being "even" with a d2 school.  ;D  Chowan, well, I can't disagree they are a joke.

In that case, thank you!  ;D  I wasn't sure which way you were leaning when you said you were surprised by the spread, so I wanted to give you the background. Unfortunately, the picks themselves aren't too evenly distributed...
