For those folks in greater Blount County, The Tony Ierulli show returns to tv tonight at 9 pm followed by the prep show with co-host John Brice (have to plug the boss  )

The Scots radio show will be on 1470 AM tonight at 8 p.m.

Not sure I can handle this secretly rooting for newport two weeks in a row but if they can make my pick look good for a second week in a row, I'll manage.

The Winchester Star had an article today about the up coming game against BC.  "Shenandoah coach Paul Barnes said the offense, which started five sophomores (against CUA), might have been feeling some nerves."It's just that trust factor," Barnes said. I hope the Defense can hold it together like they did last week. Its a long shot, but if the Hornet D can keep things close, maybe just maybe a miracle can happen.

Thanks RTT.......I see CNU is hosting a donor dinner Friday night.....so I told FT and Coop to do whatever without me. I though they were going to try and sneak in a HS footbal game.

I'm not sure what I'll do after the dinner, maybe grab someone and  (as they might say in Texas -  "find a waterin' hole"

Talking about food here now, what is everyone's favorite tailgating food, ever been to a game where you had anything unusual.

     Cheese Doodles, Chitterlings with Hellfire Hot Sauce, and Pabst Blue Ribbon!!  Yum...Yum.

Not that unusual, especially in the eastern part of NC and SC, but one of the best tailgates to which I was invited had a seafood boil.  Take a big propane cooker (such as the size that will deep-fry an entire turkey) and add Old Bay seafood seasoning, shrimp, small red new potatoes, corn on the cob, onions, Andouille sausage, celery, carrots, etc. and boil until all are tender.  Then put a big piece of waxed paper on a picnic table and just let folks pick and choose what they want.  With cold "beverages", a few great desserts and a good football game, it was a fine day!  The day I remember was a perfect mid-October day and a great 42-38 come-from-behind homecoming victory by South Carolina (QB was Anthony Wright, back-up for NY Giants) over Kentucky (QB was Tim Couch).  It was a memorable day - for food and for football!

i've always called that frogmore stew...and it's unbelievably good...throw some clams and or mussels into the mix, and it makes it PERFECT...i've always made it on the stove, though...never thought about 'gaiting with it...hmm

a few years ago the parents of mu student (and former jv football player) tim evans cooked a whole pig for one game, and on another day made this incredible chicken & rice stew...they basically let anyone and everyone eat...it was very generous and VERY good - there is supposed to be an organized tailgate for monarch fans on saturday called the "monarch zone"...i plan to check it out and see what's doing
