No, but I was sitting on the same row, across the aisle from him in the reserved section. Had a yellow shirt and White NCWC hat, listening to every thing the Widener coaches in the booth had to say.

From any situation which occurs on the field on a given Saturday you must
find the positive, the kids at NCWC played one heck of a game on defense
the last 49 min. In 90 degree heat, they fought off Wideners charge. Coach
Ginn has always heavily substituted on defense in the early season. Yesterday
was no different; they came to play. Special teams and the offense need work.
The offensive line is missing some of the punch from previous years. Hopefully
that will come quickly.E&H the Bishops next opponent has a very poised QB
and an offese much like Widener(very patient and slow)but the scenarios are
set. E&H beat NCWC last year with questionable ref calls, E&H will have
2 weeks to prep for this game, the head coach came from Mount Union(we all
know who they are), and finally NCW's Coach Ginn is an alumnus of E&H.
Look for a good game with some bad blood in it. To Ball Boy, STOP HATING!!
0-2 is not the end of the world. The games still have to be played.

I don't think Ball Boy is hating, he is just doing what we all do, voiceing his opinion.
I agree with you about the play of the defense. If NCWC lacks anything right now... it is consistancy in the offense. If they overcome that obstacle, they will be tough to beat. Will you be at the game next week? :)

As John Penn once said......"You cannot be honest, without offending soneone..

fayetteville observer article with video...pretty good coverage of the game

speaking of video, did anyone else watch the springfield/union game on d3cast last night...it was pretty awesome to see video of a regular season d3 game...great work pat & crew!  maybe the monarchs season will be interesting enough to get you guys down here for a broadcast :)

I will probably be sitting in the same place....but definitly on the top row

Smith Reed

One other note, I would agree with Coach Ginn; it is the worst game I've seen
NCW play in 4 seasons and Ive seen over 20 games. To the young men at
NCWC that read D3FOOTBALL.com and this forum (and  I know for a fact that
coach does not encourage this) remember the GAME is played on the FIELD
and not in the PRESS!!   WORD!!!!!!   Let it be known.  GO BIG BLUE!!!!

Old Ref

I agree.....If I were coaching, I would not want my players reading this stuff either......bunch of "nuts" here...just kidding, ha..ha...ha..

CNU85,

I looked for you after the game.

Sorry (in a way ;)) the game did not turn out to be the game we expected.  I hope everyone arrives home safely and you guys pull it together for next week.  Enjoyed meeting you and visiting with Gray Fox.  I wish I could have gotten there a little earlier for a better visit.

Good luck the rest of the season.

PS:  Just curious, I have heard a lot about the fan turnout and support at ya'lls stadium.  How did Belton compare?
I second that.  It was great talking to the two of you and the other CNU fans.  There were some great stories to pass on to certain people.

Thanks for including me in your tailgate food. :)

Good luck during the rest of the season.  Maybe there will be a replay during the playoffs.

Big win for the Fighting Scots today. One I felt would set the tone for the season. Ok Scots, make me look good with my prediction.
Anyone see the game today? Not sure how good Centre is but a W on the road is always a good thing.

Well at least Coach I has them winning ugly instead of folding up tents as has been the mo in the past. It was huge leap forward for the offense but still a a ways to go. Defense has now given up less than 60 yards rushing in 2 games on 70 plus attempts. One bust on a pump fake cost the Scots as it was the only TD of the year they've allowed, but it was fantastic execution by Centre there. Only time we saw that particular formation. (SEAC beware of the two wide to each side with one on and one off packed left shoe to right shoe against each other on hashes)
It is worth noting that Centre' all region linebacker Johnson was suspended and did not even dress. Adam Hay was still a beast for the Colonels with 13 stops but MC's sophomore backer Chewning wracked up 16 as all three starters finished with double-digits in the takedowns.
Oh yes and Lucas Wall  had a Willie Beaman moment after getting clocked on a 12 yard draw. At least he pulled back from the center and didn't dump on him so he gets half a style point there.

And since we're getting closer to conference play where the wins and losses do matter more ...
This will be the second opportunity for some folks to make the trip to Murvul.

Since we're the longest drive for many if not all I'll put in a p[lug and say make a weekend of it. (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge  and Townsend are cloe enough to make the stay worth while, but then I try to stay over and see something new everytime I make trip for conference play)

If anyone (Greensboro, Ferrum, Methodist, Averettt) wants run downs on where to stay and not stay, eat, which tailgaters are worth visiting or how to avoid traffic problems from the UT games in getting to campus let me know game week.

Roo Cru and Gray Fox....thanks for stopping by. It was indeed good to meet the both of you. Sorry we couldn't talk longer. Part of it was due to the fact that I had to go set up my computer in the boradcast booth for the crew to check scores. There isn't internet access up there, so they used my computer since it has a sprint card. Gotta keep up with the scores.

Roo Cru - I spent the game in the radio booth - it has A/C!!! So, it was difficlut to tell exactly about the crowd....but here's my take:

1. the
UMHB students get into the game more than the CNU students. CNU students seem to be more reserved for some reason.

2. I haven't checked the box score for attendance but I would think that if UMHB and CNU draw 3,000 fans to a game, it will seem louder at CNU....our stadium is listed at 3,000 but has had 6,100 at one game and over 5,000 at others. Tiger Staidium holds about 9,000, so a crowd of 3,000 makes it seem a little empty.

The fans that were there were into it...again it was hard to really tell b/c the radio booth is totally enclosed in glass and you can't open a window....so it's muffled a little......except you can realy hear the student section!

comparison.......I think it's apples and oranges.

Good luck to the cru......the rest of the d3 world should take notice.....I've been watching d3 for 7 years now, NEVER have a seen a faster or harder hitting team.
