Old Ref

The season is changing, the leaves are falling,
A feeling in the air, I think football is calling,

I'm off to the stadium, and hope to see.
Offense and defense, that is the is the key,

To bring home a win, is the goal we seek,
to continue to win and be on top of the peak

Goog Luck to all the USAC Teams!

Old Ref

Smith Reed, I'll be on the top row with an orange knit shirt on.

CNU85

I guess that's better than being in the orange row with no shirt on top!

Allen C

Bridgewater 21 Ferrum 0 Early in the Second. Panthers just intercepted a pass. Probably the highlight of the day for the Panthers
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

wow...can't say i saw a monarch loss in the cards today...i'm a bit shocked right now...i didn't think chowan would be a cakewalk, but i thought the monarchs would get a w...looks like the monarchs went for 2 at the end of the first ot and it backfired

defense got hammered for 500+ yards today...they've got some stuff to figure out before ncwc next weekend

hill did run for 94 yards and 4 td's (but he had 32 carries...just a 2.9 ypc average)

...wow...

PrideSportBBallGuy

correction Rod Hill did not have two INT's for as the live stats said in the scoring summary.  He had kickoff returned for a TD, and the other was a blocked punt for a TD. I think that makes him a lock for Special Teams Player of the Week.

My thoughts on the CNU game today -

pitiful effort. CNU put up some offensive stats...over 380 yds total offense....balanced....190 on the ground and 190 in the air, two QB's with almost 100 yds each, a RB with over 100 yds...CNU had fewer penalties, more first downs, had the ball 5 minutes longer and averaged 4.6 yards per play - yet it didn't "look" that good...the penalties were all critical...like the holding call when the backup QB Brown lined up at WR, took the ball on a handoff, looking like a reverse...pulled up and throws a 40yd TD to Bradshaw - ahhhh...holding!! Or a key 4th and 2, CNU is going for it....when a senior OL and team captain jumps the snap...now we gotta punt.

Burke came alive, Bradshaw had a good game......but the offense just looked out of sync.

The defense is in DEEP trouble! It's Saturday evening now - it wouldn't surprise me if I drove back to CNU and saw the defense hitting the tackling dummies....SU ran for 400 yds!!! That's more than UMHB ran....387 if I remember...either way...that's about 800 yards in 2 games!!!!!!!!!!  Something will change there, not sure what. Maybe the loss of D-coordinator Legg who went to U of Richmond is a bigger loss than anticipated.

I don't get to see the game film and see how the players grade out, but I'm willing to bet most people's spots on the team are up for grabs.

This is gonna be a long 2 weeks - and I'm talking about for me...can't imagine what the players and coaches are going to go through. It's time for Kelchner to get into some faces and kick a few butts (players and coaches).

2 in-region losses...only one way to make the playoffs now. Gotta win it all - and what I saw today - unless something changes - it ain't gonna happen.

The UMHB loss did not concern me - this loss concerns me a great deal.

CNU85

but even with my comments below....I'll be at all the home games! Maybe a road trip or two as well.....

If any players are reading this....get it together....the Captains have talent, just need to put it all together.

Just to let CNU know...your fans are first class all the way. I am a Salisbury fan, but as far as Pomoco Stadium is concerned...College football lives here!! Good game today. I really like the SU-CNU rivalry.

CNU85

Luv....I like the rivalry better when we play in your place....we've never beaten you guys at POMOCO. Today was a part of family weekend, thus the 5,000 attendance.  In 2 weeks, with CNU getting beat twice, the crowd will be half that. And I can't imagine what the crowds would be lke, if CNU loses 2 early conference games and are out of the playoff picture.

powerslant/2

Yea I agree with CNU85, we recitified 1 of 2 problems and that is in the QB spot, the number two problem just got bigger and that's the D, how to contain the outside run and now the secondary is tackling Pop Warner style.  Can't win the conference title out right like that if those problems 2 & 3 don't get resolved. >:( :o
