I might head on over to CNU this weekend to see the game. Can anyone tell me a good seafood restaurant nearby the campus? I've been in the mood for some crab legs. ;D maybe a little live music as well.

It's been about 4 or 5 years, but there is a crabshack joint at the fishing pier that was great. Can't remember what it was called. Good seafood, good bar.

It's called the Crabshack...good place...it's on the fishing pier next to the James River Bridge. Not too far from CNU. Also, about 15 minutes away in Hampton is one of my favorites - Surf Rider. It's at a marina and off the beaten path, but very nice. If that's a possibility, let me know and I'll make sure you're able to get proper directions. OR - you could head down to the Yorktown waterfront...lots of new stuff down there...Riverwalk is the name of the restaurant (I think - not 100%) and for good old redneck music, there's the Yorktown Pub. If you're not interested in a beer, even closer to CNU is Bill's Seafood. Iced Tea is about as hard as they get on the drinks...maybe a coke with a lime? Nah, no limes there.....but good food. Or, another one of my favorites...it's a chain owned by the Outback folks.....Bonefish Grill. It's also about 3 miles from campus.

Hope that helps....if you need more info, send me a message or email and I'll help out.

Great choices, Bill's looks like a hole in the wall but great food and if the Surf Rider in Hampton is as good as the one in Virginia Beach, you can't go wrong.

85, is Fishermans Wharf in Hampton still open? They use to have a great buffet with Steam Shrimp and Alaskan Crab Legs. (Off Ivy Road)

Fisherman's Wharf is gone......Surf Rider is very near there...same area of town.

Surf Rider is the same as VA Beach as far as quality of food and 100 times better as far as atmosphere and scenary....also the Hampton location has a great bar overlooking the marina and pool.

Get the bang bang shrimp at Bonefish Grill.  It is awesome!

Bonefish has great food....just suggest getting a reservation especially on a weekend....It's also a bit pricy

If you miss the reservation...there's an hour wait on weekends....great bar to wait in and the "talent level" is usually pretty good on most nights!

It is a little pricey, but it is a good place to eat as a treat for yourself every once in a while.  I also recommend the grouper there.

Here are some cool pics of the SU/FC game last week. http://www.whitepostsports.com/collegiatesports/fb092207/
My two favorites are #13 and 33. I just wish the scoreboard had a different score on it. ::) They also have pics of the Bridgewater game as well. Incase the direct link to the FC game wont work (I have had trouble with it today at times) go to www.whitepostsports.com for its home site.

Fisherman's Wharf is gone......

I thought that was on the other side of the water - Willoughby Spit? South of the tunnel off I-64?  Sad. :'(

The one your're thinking of was at one time a duplicate of the one in Hampton. later changed to a Captain George's. Haven't been there in years, so I can't tell you if that one is still open or not. Wasn't as good as the one in Hampton after it changed hands.

USASAC Picks for this weekend:

Ferrum over Averett by 7 points.

E&H over Methodist by 2 TDs.

NCWC over Maryville by a last minute field goal.

Guilford over Greensboro by 4 TDs.

and...

This pains me to type, but CNU over SU by 20 points.

There were two. The one on the spit is also gone.......razed to the ground to make way for a waterfont condo tower that looks like it has come to a screeching halt. I pass it every morning and I don't see much progress. .....sub prime mortgage issue is making lenders nervous and not willing to lend even good credit folks some money.

Your crazy. SU will be lucky to score 7 points with the offence they have. I say CNU by at least 30.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Here is an article from the Star about linemen Nick Oakley

"There wasn't anything remotely humorous about Nick Oakley's sophomore year at Lehigh University. After a promising freshman year, injuries kept him off the field during the fall, and his inability to keep up with Lehigh's academic standards meant he was no longer a student at the end of the spring. He could no longer attend the university....Nick has a passion for the game of football that a lot of guys on this team don't understand," Shenandoah quarterback Richard Glick said. "He almost has that (Baltimore Raven) Ray Lewis type of passion. You know Nick's going to be a coach. You know he's always going to be around the game of football."By Robert Niedzwiecki The Winchester Star http://www.winchesterstar.com/article_details.php?ArticleID=1391

Perhaps we will see this young man on the Hornets sidlines as a coach in a few years.
