I like Fazzoli's when I go to CNU/Newport News, VA.

I'm still laughing about this!! We go from trying to find decent seafood to a bad fastfood italian place as a good place to eat!!! This is killing me!!

Thanks - I needed some levity this afternoon!!  :)

I hope you aren't trying to say that Newport News has good seafood, I just bought some crabmeat from "My Harris Teeter" and it was from Newport News, VA, far from exceptional.  :) Maryland seafood is the best (MD crabs) There may be good seafood resturaunts, but not good seafood in Newport News.

I am an italian food junkee and I know Fazzolis doesn't have great italian food.  I think it would be a better choice than going to Mickey D's or Burger King. Either way, you know how the saying goes "greatest thing since sliced bread," well it needs to be changed because there is something better than sliced bread, the never ending pasta bowl at Olive Garden. That is the 8th wonder of the world  :) :D ;)

ABN...still a BM1...won't be eligible for chief until next April.

Kickerdad...no, I'm part of the service that is the hard nucleus upon which the Navy forms on during time of war, USCG!!! ;D  Still active duty, stationed at Camp Lejeune NC!  Admiral Papi was a nickname some of the guys I played with at MU gave me.

85 I was thinking the same thing...Saying Newport News doesn't have good seafood is like saying they don't have ship building!  :o  My GF is Italian and if you tell her Olive Garden is Italian she'd probably slap the taste out of your mouth!!!
PSBBG...you bought Crab meat in a grocery store and it wasn't good....that's a shocker.  If you want good seafood...go to a seafood market or come down here and I'll catch it for you fresh...throw it in the cooker and serve it with a rum drink!!!
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

I know seafood, believe me I never wanted to get seafood from a grocery store. I have family back in MD that own a seafood resturaunt, but I wasn't there.  I was making a dish and was short on time and had to settle for it.

By the way, I was making crab and scrambled egg sandwichs, with some fresh tomatos and a cream cheese spread. Of course you make the crab and eggs with Old Bay.

MD has way better crabs.  They don't have Newport News Style Crab Cakes.  They do have MD style crab cakes.

Don't put words in my mouth, all I said was the never ending pasta bowl was better than sliced bread. I am italian too, and I make incredible pasta, people will just eat my sauce as if it were a stew.

Nobody has put words in your mouth, just simply responded to your comment.

Yes, they do have Newport News style crab cakes...guess where??? Newport News!  Just like my grandma makes Harkers Island style crab cakes...why...because we are from Harkers Island.  Everyone thinks the best seafood comes from their hometown!  Heck back home we all argue about who has the best seafood amongst the small communities and they are only separated by a few miles.  Seafood flavor is more about the person cooking it than what body of water it was pulled from.
I could give my opinion on who has the best seafood on the east and gulf coast based on a career of bouncing in and out of every podunk little port, but to be honest all the food was great and the people I met were amazing.

85...my sides hurt..stop!!!

It wasn't me, its gonna take alot more than saying you won't eat my sauce for me to ding your karma  :).  I don't ding people's karma just because thier opinion is different than mine, or different than the mainstream opinion.

Unlike some people on here well.............that is a different story.

now that is funny!

monarchs need to come out fast on offense today...i think this is a pivotal game for them...going to 0-4, especially if they lose in similar fashion to the first 3 games, could be a back breaker for the rest of the season - i'm hoping to see some significant adjustments on both sides of the ball - should be a great day to watch some college football, though

go monarchs!
