See, now what aren't you using your knowledge over on the pick-em boards?  ;)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Just wanted to throw out there the final results of the can food drive from the Souper Bowl:

Greensboro 4,321
Guilford 3,967 (not as high this year, no more matching can for can)

Congrats to both schools on participating to such a good cause.

Using d3football numbers for enrollment:

4.88 cans per student at Greensboro
2.67 cans per student at Guilford.

I think this is how they should determine the cans across the conference competition, cans per student.

Hey PSBBG, this is your best statistical analysis yet.  In fact, for once I:

a)  Agree with a formula you have created, and...

b)  Have something positive to say about GC.

Serriously, that's great work for the community. Congrats to both schools, I wish there were more programs like this and the one AU and W&L hosted in Roanoke.  Kudos.

(PS:  although somehow, PSBBG, you have once again created a formula that... drumroll please...  places GC ahead of the pack.  :o )

Maybe I'm just a half-full kind of guy, but I also see GC at the bottom of the pack  ;) ;D

It's never too late to start! With the new format, the regular season picks are, in part, seeding for the postseason.

So, you start late. That just means you might be seeded last, but at least you'll get to participate in the postseason.  :)

That might mean we will win.  As I recall you said we would lose by 4TD's to Guilford.  :P :D

I only created one other formula and that was during basketball season, and as I recall, GC did finish at the top with AU.  The only problems I had were with the teams at the bottom.

Could we do a USASouth basketball pick'em?  I did do a fairly good job on spreads last year.  If you recall the CNU-FC game last year and what I said about that game. Its a little tougher than football because there are multiple games in a week.

If not a pick'em contest a "Fantasy League" for the USASouth.

Jeff Hughley has signed a contract with the Chicago Rush of the Arena League after winning AF2 MVP last season...representing Averett and the USAC!!!

Todd,

Did he break his contract with Tulsa or get cut; or did he just have a 1 year contract with them. I would have thought they would offer big bucks to keep him based on his performce this year.

Is it me or has the interest in this board dropped off since last year this time. I swear there was more posting last year. Is it because we have 3 or 4 teams with hardly any wins in the conference? If you go over to the ODAC board they are burning it up; however those teams are winning week after week.

The top posters from last year, thier teams have a combined record of 2-15 (AU, CNU, MU, and SU) this year.

This time last year 11-10 with those same teams.

I hope that doesn't have anything to do with it, and I hope it is because the posters are actually busy.

It is wierd how the boards get slammed for a while and then there is a lull.  Does each team have a repersentative on here?  If not maybe it is just all the poster's teams lost :)  That still isn't a reason not to keep the conversation going.

All I gotta say is that I am looking forward to the games this weekend.  Personally, I think the MVC/FU game is gonna be awesome!  It will most likely be another down to the wire game (even though I picked Maryville as my sure thing pick to win), which isn't something out of the norm for Maryville.  If anything they keep you on your toes.

FightingScot,

Not sure I can answer your question about a rep from every team on the board. I'am obiviously an Averett fan and I know CNU, Maryville, Greensboro, Methodist and Shenandoah are on as well. Not sure about NCWC. Ferrum came back after a year off. I have only seen two other folks on here from Averett the past year. CNU has a huge following.

My hat is off the to Shenandoah faithful as they are going through some tough times right now, but they haven't run and hide. I must say after last week's game against Ferrum I sure wanted to hide but here I am. Someone has to support these kids or should I say young men.

Good luck with Ferrum this week. They certainly were a better team than I thought. They are big and fast. They run an option as well, however we couldn't cover all the pawns at the same time and got burned several times.

In my opinion this weeks game between Averett and Methodist is going to be one of the better games. Both teams are winless and have something to prove and it will be a great game from start to finish. I believe it will go down to the wire as it has for the past two years.

ProudFightingScot

Something has gotta give in the AU/Meth game.  I think Meth will win by 7.  There isn't reasoning for it, just a gut feeling.  I think there is one NCWC fan on here.  I didn't know if there was a FU poster.

I just hope we can stop FU's Offense.  I could be wrong, but I believe they have put up 400 yards of offense the past 2 games.  I think the final will most likely be 27-24 Maryville win.  I am impressed with Ferrum this year.   I certainly didn't think they would be playing like they are.  This year is like every other b/c you never know what is gonna happen, except CNU will be around the top of the standings somewhere.

I like you have a gut feeling and that is--CNU is going to get knocked off the hill this year. I predict either NCWC or Maryville and possibly Ferrum based on what I saw last week, will take them and one of the lower teams will sneak up on them and catch them off guard (looking ahead or behind)
