CNU85, I don't ever want you to question GC's discipline in a game.  I know CNU had all the personal foul calls in the game.  A game which was a rout.  I did lose a little respect I had for CNU as a class act program.  I have been nothing but respectful to CNU this year.  They are still the favorite to win, and they will be my favorite to win next year. No need for the fouls.

You have to remember I only mentioned it as a result of shirt tails not being tucked in.....I'll say it whenever it happens and have even sent emails to CNU coaches when  I see it with them....so I'll keep saying it, even though you don't ever want me to question GC discipline.

My thoughts on the game.  CNU, not as good as they have been in the past but still pretty good.  Your qb didnt look like a baller but he is really accurate and he has some speed guys that catch well placed balls.

Hey Mosh,

what were you meaning when yo say the qb doesn't look like a baller. I'm curious on your thoughts.

Not talking for the Moshter but a baller (a QB) is a guy with with an inate ability to make it happen.

Not pretty sometimes but will throw run or throw his mug into the breach. A scrapper without any one great attribute; but wins. Testicles

One name that comes to as a baller is Sonny Jergerson (sp) of the Redskins. Fat overweight played drunk on occassion but NEVER NEVER gives up. Mosh might see it different :)

Congrats to Methodist, CNU and to  Maryville on pulling one out in OT. :)

Got to take a nap, went down to ECU last night, what a game! Way past my bed time. :)

Pretty much what Abngr said,

By just looking at the kid you wouldnt think he had the talent that he has.

85 personally I am still not sold on the new DC or our defense. You would think the program would be taking a step forward but in some aspect I think we are going in the wrong direction.  21 points to Gboro and don't forget they got a td called back later in the game that could have made the game a lot closer. Yea Yea I played defense at CNU so some folks might think my opinions are biased but we just don't look dominate on that side of the ball anymore.  I know the excuse can be used that our out of conference teams are 14-1 but we have played top teams sense the beginning of our program and you will not beat the top teams in D3 if you are giving up 21 first half points to a team like Gboro.  And believe me I KNOW FIRST HAND HOW SHELL SHOCKED YOU CAN GET WHEN YOU REALLY PLAY AGAINST AN ELITE OFFENSE(WIDENER) if they make it to the playoffs.  With that being said the side of the ball is steadily improving and even showed they can put together decent drives in a hostile environment (at MHB) but again you will not win a championship if you cannot play great defense. And if you think at all that my opinion is biased just ask the 05 team which was the first defensive unit to avg giving up 20 pts in a season since our first defense in 01.

Hopefully we will continue to take it one game at a time and make history. After all this is the first team to beat Rowan and hopefully these guys will be the first team to finish undefeated in the conference.

And I know I am critical of MY team and the reason I say MY team is because once you are a Captain you are always a Captain. The ex players in the stands still feel the wins and the loses as if we were the ones still on the field.

And Mosh I know we have had some pretty heated discussions in recent years and I know that at one point you really wanted to know who I was.  Maybe we can meet up and finally duke it out. lol ;D ;D.. The only reason I couldn't give out my name back then was because coach K absolutely hates these message boards. And if you ever saw that vein come out of his neck when he is angry maybe you can understand that player fear at that time in wanting to remain anonymous lol.

You made a point that you don't think that CNU is as good as we used to be what do you think is the biggest difference from this team and teams in the past?

I understand. I was thinking the same thing, just based on sideline appearance, when I first saw Faison a few years ago. But he certainly got it done yesterday. He does have a nice touch on the ball...I've seen him connect a few times with Bradshaw....that's a nice combo!

Finest...we agree that the D isn't what it used to be. This is a big transition year. Many new players PLUS a new coordinator. I think they'll be ok, it'll just take time, maybe longer than one season.

Mosh - sounds like you were at the game.....any distinct view on the linebackers for CNU. The coaching staff has been making tons of changes on D and many of the linebackers (starters and others) are Freshmen.

Narch and Papi
Last night as I was watching Air Force drive 75 yards to salt one away against UNLV I was thinking that perhaps Papi was just crawling out of the ditch near Hay Street ;)

CNUs finest54 has a point (wow I said that?) other teams have found a way to truly limit Lowe this season. he's a great athlete but he's the man among boys on Greensboro's offense this year. You can put two guys as shadow on him and play the rest of the team 9 on 10 and do very well. He's versatile but still one guy.

Congrats to Monrachs on first win. I can honestly say I didn't think it would be this far into the season before MU got its first win.

Scots faded out down the stretch. I'd blame the heat but it wasn't that. They had enough to win in OT with a great four try goal line stand from the 3. I kind of wonder if it wasn't the unfmailiar ground of being ahead of someone so early and so efficiently. Ferrum came out flat and MC didn't seem ready to capitalize and not let them come around.

Anybody from Ferrum know which player went into shock after the game and how he's doing. I know the trainers took care of him but stopped short of an iv after they iced him down but don't know who it was. Coach davis also collapsed after the game but seemed fine when I talked to him later. The heat was brutal for October a bit over 90 generally with only two gusts of wind by the count of the guys and gal running the video cameras.

54-  Its all in the past brother.  The big difference is that when you start a program you generally get some studs that want to play early.  I still see some kids that can really play football but they aren't all the way across the board.

85 I really didn't focus on your lb's but you guys have a dlineman that has a good motor.

One more thing 54, Greensboro does some good things on offense.  The timing on the passing plays is causing a little bit of trouble.  The qb is taking some sacks that he prob wont be taking with a little more experience (but maybe the coverage was good all night?)...Its easy to monday morning qb...The biggest thing that killed us was that wr in man coverage.  He can fly.  One thing I did notice that was good from the greensboro side was that the kids never really gave up.  Hopefully that will translate into some wins the next few weeks.

CNU85

both our DE have good motors. Not sure which one you saw.....maybe it was both and just seems like one guy.

The only part of football I don't like is that I have to wait a week to watch another game.

cnusfinest54

I hear you 85 but when are we supposed to take that next step? We should be an established program by now, no more we are growing BS. We made 2 runs to the second round of the playoffs and now we have a team that even if they win the conference they are not expected to go deep into the playoffs. Maybe I have too high expectations for our program but I want to see those guys go further and accomplish more than we did.
