Hello All-
This is offically my last post on the board...I will be back again some day.  Not under the name PrideSportBBallGuy, but something else.

classic psbbg :)

believe it or not, psbbg, you'll be missed

and, not to pile on, but if you had attended the mu/gc game at mu last year and listened to your fans in attendance, you probably wouldn't be so quick to call the rest of the conference poor sports - i don't think i posted anything about it for fear of it sounding like sour grapes (since the pride did beat the monarchs for the second time in their history), but i clearly remember how obnoxious the gc fans were...

we all get a little chippy when our teams lose, but given the circumstances and a few days to remove themselves from the situation, i bet even the gc coaching staff doesn't feel like the fg was in poor taste

lose the drama and come back, psbbg...you're team kneads you out their :)

In regards to Pride Sports Something

The mane obviously never played college football.

The mane picked other teams to beat us week in and week out

The mane is gone and that is cool with me.

Roll Pride

By the way, Averett doesnt have a chance!

+2 for you....ok 1 at a time....i owe you one tomorrow....one for not being a "homer" and another one for having played college ball

Upset over a field goal late in the game during a blow out????????????? You should have been with us when MT Union kicked a field goal to go up 72 to 0. We are still here and no complaining.

Congrats to Methodist, looks like Averett has some serious issues from players making bone head mistakes to coaches being unable to get call plays in, get players on the field during a time out and end up getting a penalty for too many on the field and giving Methodist a critical first down after having them backed up inside the 10.

Lots of questions and head shaken going on in the stands. Someone needs to find the answers quick. This is more than a rebuilding issue. Right now Averett has no size to compete, no speed, no offense, no defense, kick off and punting teams can't cover. Appears both players and coaches aren't focused like they should be.

and you're still here!! True fan!!

Hey.....my daughter's kicker friend from school....he's getting D1 scholly looks!!

Highlander

How about some discussion about the mystique that is POMOCO Stadium? What makes CNU so extremely difficult to beat at home? They probably have the best in-conference home record percentage in the country. With that being said I have heard (never been there) that the facility is very nice.

Tell him to work on leg strength, leg speed, height and being consistent. (so consistent he can kick extra points with his eyes closed). Good luck to him.

Not sure to be honest with you. Crowds are nice...but it's not like we're packing in 10,000. This weekend will probably be a little less than 3,000. We had bigger crowds at local HS games when I was a kid....way back in the day. Maybe it's the band, 35 cheerleaders, dance team, no travel, get to sleep in dorms,   I dunno.....maybe a former CNU player can shed some light...CNUFinest- what makes POMOCO (and the formerly un-named same satidium) 19-1 with the only home conference loss an overtime game and now a 19 game winning streak????

I'll pass it along. There was a long story in local sports page about him. He's the best soccer player in the district and he's not going to play this year...he's focused on the sholarship for football. He finished 10th this past year at some national kicking camp - Nike?? At one camp they start at PAT distance, moved side to side, then back.....he missed 1 50 yd FG and made everything else (something like 24 out of 25??)....already has a 47 yarder in a game this year. I think it was in Texas....anyway, ECU is near the top of his list. He's mentally tough - so he'll be fine.

Playing at CNU is no different than playing anywhere else in the conference. They tend to have a larger home crowd than most, however 2 years ago when Averett played at Ferrum, they had the placed packed. I think it all has to do with the fact that they are constantly winners. That draws a crowd not only from the school but the community.

CNU85

nah...I'm not in the negative karma mood....everyone on the board tonight got a +1 from me....

besides.....after further review....I agree CNU has an advantage by being public. But it's not the ONLY reason for their success....just an important factor.
