When the NCAA starts talking about splitting up D3, that's where the split should occur, between state and private schools.

The 25% of Division III that's public schools wins about 25% of the national championships. Hardly seems like a gigantic competitive advantage.

No, the public/private split may not be as dramatic in the D3/D4 issues as you suspect.

If the support for NCAA Legislative issues is a clue as to who will be going to D4, it looks like the WIAC might be a D4 supporter and the USASouth and the Capital AC (with its public members of Salisbury and St Mary's) stay in D3.

and some whined to their AD like little children, thus forcing other AD's to put a lid on department members from posting - thus we lose some inside semi-scoops!!

You know that's what I always thought was behind the move to establish a split, but the thread over on "General Division III Issues" and "Future of Division III" was very enlightening. (If you have an extra, say 37 hours, on your hands then it's really worth delving into)  The information there is really thought provoking, to the point I no longer see it as Public-Private.  Head over there and check it out.

Kickerdad, aren't a bunch of those posters BC guys?  Not that it matters, but I don't think the USASAC teams are playing them this year (other than the beatdown delivered at SU the other week).

SU
Yea..... there are a bunch of BCers' there but MC and GC-Q people are there too. The biggest posters from BC who do not hit here much anymore are:

LLAMA and SKOAL.

Skoal had the brutal wit. LLAMA  is cute.  ;) At least that cheerleader he was with was.

Personally I did no research or asked for any scoops from people I know (this year)so I just talk smack every once and a while. Some people say I never did any research. :) But I try to get Skoal to come out of his personal wine vinyard and cellar but he hardly takes the bai.t

Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

SU97, someone else will have to answer your question. I do go over to the ODAC board and read when the USASC teams are playing ODAC, but I haven't been posting long enough to know who is who. I do remember a few but not all.

How about some discussion about the mystique that is POMOCO Stadium? What makes CNU so extremely difficult to beat at home? They probably have the best in-conference home record percentage in the country. With that being said I have heard (never been there) that the facility is very nice.

Not sure to be honest with you. Crowds are nice...but it's not like we're packing in 10,000. This weekend will probably be a little less than 3,000. We had bigger crowds at local HS games when I was a kid....way back in the day. Maybe it's the band, 35 cheerleaders, dance team, no travel, get to sleep in dorms,   I dunno.....maybe a former CNU player can shed some light...CNUFinest- what makes POMOCO (and the formerly un-named same satidium) 19-1 with the only home conference loss an overtime game and now a 19 game winning streak????

We have done pretty well over the years but I think Mount is just a little bit better at home. ;D
85 we just had PRIDE for our home turf no matter who we played. Our fans treat us like a D1 program when we are at home and we do our best to try and give them a show and a W.  You just have to want it 85 and for some reason when we make that walk onto the field from the gates we just want it more.  Football is a game of emotion and we thrive on those fans at Pomoco....I still get fired up when I walk thru the gates now when I go to home games. And besides if you ever go to a CNU game you will see a lot of hot girls  ;D. And nothing turns hot college girls on more than a winning team and a stud player. lol. OOOOOOOOOOO  OOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOO WHO CNU.....

AdmiralPapi

If hot girls is a recipe for a successful football team then UNC-Wilmington should start a team tomorrow...watcha think Narch...we can practice your wing T on Masonboro to improve our speed  ;D

Well, since you're a "newbie", you're at the mercy of others. You can't give (applaud) or take (smite) karma until you're at 200 posts.  When you reach that number, those options will "magically" appear on your screen.  Most people use it well to reward someone who's done or said something worthy or, on the opposite side, to chastise someone for saying something really stupid or overly inflammatory.  lol  For the most part, don't worry about it ... just post and let it flow as it will.  FYI - those who ask for karma, usually get the opposite effect.  :)  Peace and a karma for you.
