Wonder if perhaps a statement was made by SU Sat?  ??? Congrats!!

Let's not get crazy here...  I think we are still trying to put together some fragments, maybe a noun or two.

Don't worry SU...not getting crazy. Just thinking that perhaps the adversity of the last week has brought the remaining team members together. Let's hope so anyway. Except when they play Maryville!!  ;)

Hey Narch (wherever you are)

I was mistaken....I had it 17-14 CNU.
as a fan of good football, i'll take that...although i'd prefer to see mu 17- cnu 14 (or really mu one more than cnu in any denomination :))

Cnu plus four scores.

Greensboro beats Averett 2-0

CNU85, Good to put a face with somebody from the board. And thanks for the water. By the time I gave in and had a beer about hour 35 (8pm) it only took three and I was done as soon as UK upset LSU. I made mental notes on some of the fund raising ideas in place and now concede facility wise (fan and team) CNU tops the list, though the wooded areas for tailgating at MC I think still have an edge of their own.

MC qb (Wall) didn't get knocked from game. It was a scheme to get the running qb (Hughes) in with the option package. I would guess MU, AU and SU will be ready for it but still have to stop it.

First time Ive double dutied and been the color guy on the radio broadcast as well this season. Debaby kept calling Christopher Newport Carson-Newman (D2, Jefferson City, tenn.) in excited moments which had several of the CNU staff rolling with me.

It was a great game. But having now seen both I have to say that Im giving the edge to NCW to break the streak at 20. Ginn must have spent all summer with turtle wax because Townsend is so much more polished and smooth than he was last year that it makes the whole team harder to defend.

Lastly, kudos to Nick jensen - I don't know if the lateral to garrett Meyer was forward or not but very alert to grab the losse ball on the PAT block and great run and decison making on the return. I want a copy of the game tape just to see that again. At another level we'd still be seeing it on sportscenter.

Go ahead and ding away at the karma boys.... Private vs. Public huh I heard that there are a few good players from NCW they couldn't get into CNU for various reasons. HHHHHHmmmmmmmmmm who has the edge now????? Sometimes people forget there are a lot of good college programs in VA. Its a lot of talent in the tidewater area but the talent gets spread over various schools. Hell we got 2 pretty good 1aa schools right up the road from us and not to mention JMU won a NC a couple years ago. Geeezzzzzz and ODU is adding a team.  CNU has to jump thru a lot of hoops  to get talented players in year in and year out. So don't speculate that the grass is a lot greener over here, WE JUST DEFEND OURS BETTER. :o ;D ;D

Damn I wish I could play again.... All this talk about NCW is ticking me off.... NCW better worry about who they play on Sat... All this board talk may make them fall flat on their face....Ill be honest with you Batteredbard CNU has played poor the last 2 times at Pomoco and still won big....We will focus on MC right now but we will SHOW THE BISHOPS IN DUE TIME WHY POMOCO WILL GIVE THEM A "PEACE OF MIND" "OF COURSE".;D (dont worry you have to be from the Penisula to get it)

Captains MC is on the clock and payback is a  ;).

Finest54,
I think that CNU and NCW both have several players that are very talented. Most everyone has said that the road to the top of the conference still runs through CNU. Most fans would love to have the opportunity to relish in the fact that everyone puts a large bulls- eye on their respective team. That just means that your team has what everyone else wants. CNU raised the "bar" for every other team in the conference. IMHO, this has caused there to be a increase in parity in the conference.

WOW, theres alot of animosity on here now. I think it is all stemming from there only going to be one conference champion this year. I dont see CNU messing up this year anymore and losing that one game that ties them with anyone. I think it will be NCWC VS. CNU for the battle of conference champion.
Methodist played a tight game vs Ferrum on saturday, although i wish the turnout was different, it was still a good game. Methodist is still young, and learning as the year goes. That offensive line looks like it is gelling together really close which will cause problems in the future for many teams.
Congrats to SU, wow where did that come from. Havent scored that many points all season, and then break out with that many, great job. I think that shows us just how much trouble GC has defending the run. Great job!!
GO MONARCHS!! 2005 Conference Champs!

Finest 54........If you will notice, all this talk you refer to is not coming from the the only three NCWC supporters I see on this board, could be that means they are not looking ahead......... :) I think Coach Ginn would prefer they play each game one at the time....and I think that is the way the supporters are looking at it... the truth will be in the pudding at the end of the season, which ever way it falls. :) By the way, getting in might not be so difficult, but after attending NCWC... staying in is!!

Then it was a good scheme and perfectly timed...cuz he went out right after getting hammered on a play...it had me fooled, big time.....Tony Award for the QB!!  ;D

I liked the change of pace Hughes brought to the game.  I don't think CNU was really ready for it.  It also did give Wall a chance to collect himself after the big hit.

A long over due congratulations to the Hornets team for its win last Saturday night over GC. I try not to get on the computer on Sunday's and yesterday was very busy for me. But nice job to the team. It was a total team win. The special teams were fantastic, Blocking  2 punts returning one for a TD and another to the 1 yard line. Defense had 3 fumbles picked up and 1 INT. Last week could had easily gone another way after all the problems the team had to over come. I was very happy to see how the team was 100% behind new QB Lunsford. After his rushing TD all the players on the sideline were chanting " VERN, VERN, VERN, VERN!" Its been along time from the last SU win. It feels good to chat about a W once again. This week will not be a easy one but perhaps with some luck and hard work the Hornets can make a game out of it against NCW. This could easily be a trap game for NCW as GC was for SU in 2004. Congratulations to Dionte Beatty for grabbing USAC's defensive player of the week award. He had 11 tackles. Also congratulations to Robert Hembrick for getting USAC's special teams player of the week. He had two blocked punts. GO HORNETS!!
