I am new to this board and have only put a few posts up here.
-Anyone think NCWC's offensive speed will just be too much for CNU? I'm leaning towards a game that might not be too close, looking at the comparative scores.

used.......RESIST THE URGE MAN.....RESIST THE URGE!!!  :D :D Below is a post of mine from the ODAC board earlier in the season.  ;)

I promise I will never...ever...EVER compare scores again!!

Johns Hopkins 17 H-S 16
H-S 54 Gettysburg 7
Gettysburg 41 Hopkins 10 (at Hopkins)

Made it back from Atlanta in one piece, though I think there was one morning i'd have bled to death if i'd opened my eyes for any length of time 8)  (A gathering of the clans and my chief is the one who wants to drink 25 year old scotch till dawn! There's worse ways to die ... or at least feel like you have later)

I'm going with NCW speed. I haven't seen anything like it live this season, but Im sure CNU saw something faster in Texas this year. But CNU is a more disciplined team and not prone to blown assignments or careless penalties so I have no idea. This could be a close game or NCW runs away with it.

MU seems to be on an upswing coming to Murvul. Any word on Hill's return?

Well if it isn't good ol Swish 3... Good to see you are still posting for the Captains.

Well the big game is here and I am so freaking pumped... If any of the young guys read this board, THIS IS YOUR TIME TO STAMP YOUR NAME & TEAM INTO CNU HISTORY. You have heard the doubts about you and that you guys are not as good as some of the teams in the past and I don't think thats all a bad thing. We used to get too cocky at least once a year in conference games and loose one.  BUT THERE IS ONE THING THAT WE COULD ALWAYS GET DONE. WE WOULD ALWAYS WIN THE BIG TIME CONFERENCE GAMES AT HOME. THIS IS THE MAIN REASON YOU GUYS DECIDED TO COME TO CNU, FOR GAMES LIKE THIS AND ALL OF THE ATTENTION ON .

COME ON CAPTAINS SINK THE BISHOPS.

85, thanks for the directions to Pomoco. I plan on getting down there
early. NCW has a lot of kids from the Tidewater & Peninsula area so family
and friends will be showing up for this one. The weatherman is calling for
sprinkles right now. Let's hope for good football weather and ideal conditions,
it'll make for a good game. What's all this stuff about NCW speed? Like CNU
doesn't have speed--- give me a break. This could be a real track meet.
See all yall Saturday. GO BISHOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any posters headed to the Maryville/Methodist game this weekend? If so,make it a point to introduce yourself. Even Monarch types are welcome. We can quit speaking to each other AFTER the game starts.  ;) I'll be the 40 something redneck dude with buzzed hair and a goatee. That should narrow it down to a thousand or so anyway!!  :D  I'll be driving a blue Tacoma with personalized VA tags. Trust me, you'll know it when you see it. There will only be a few vehicles with  VA tags on the entire campus.  I plan to arrive early enough to (hopefully) get a spot in the small lot on the east end of the stadium. I can't promise Stone Station like vittles, but can offer D3 conver and a cold one!!   ;D
This is a game that makes me extremely nervous. A statement game against a (better than their record) Methodist team thats says we are close to being a serious contender in the USA South. Not to mention it is HC. GO SCOTS!!! Big Game.....BIG GAME....I'm pumped!!!

ALLSKY7- I thought about driving up for the game. I am not 100% sure right now, i have to wait and see what time our game is going to be over on fridaynight. If we handle business then i will be able to make it. I may drive to my parents house in asheville, then go to the game and be there around 9 or so. I will let you know around thursday and we can talk and you can send me a personal message of where you will be come saturday. Shoulod be a good game for both teams, hopefully methodist can get back on track and finish the season on a high note. GO MONARCHS~!!!!!!!
GO MONARCHS!! 2005 Conference Champs!

kickerdad - how is the boy?
To all newbies - don't run your mouth until the team you're pulling for wins the big game. (please refer to Eh-You's karma for more details)

As well as you would expect for someone who is shouldering the loss. He went bck to the practice field over the weekend and worked several hours by himself to try and figure out what is going on. Without seeing film, I couldn't tell you what went wrong. I personelly think that going all year without a field goal because they are getting blocked all the time, may have been on his mind when he missed the two FG's. It shouldn't have been, but sometimes with kickers they will dwell on that crap. He is letting the team and coaches know, that he shoulders the loss (he alone). What happens now is up to him and his mental state. He has the ability to overcome, but the mind plays games sometimes. All I can do is offer support. I already exploded and beat the hell out of the Greensboro Stadium concrete wall. I figured I needed to to that before he and I talked. I know the coaches were extremely pissed with him so that will be something he and they need to work out. Two good years prior to this one and then all hell breaks loose.

kicker.... I missed a few big ones in my career so I feel your pain. Unfortunately, kicking is a what have you done for me lately kinda deal. Both of you hang in there. Brighter days are ahead.  ;) 8)

nah...we're slow and small this year!!  :D :D

NCWC DAD

85, Sounds like a great match-up.

Old Ref

This weeks contest at Pomoco should be a great one!  I think we have two very good teams facing off. Should be great for the conference! I am in no way trying to say either team should look ahead, but neither can afford to have a let down in the final two contest.......that would really shake things up.
.....Go Bishops !

85.....What is the weather forecast for this week?

CNU85

Forecast.....77 and 40% chance of rain. But it will change 5 times before game time. I predict ROYAL BLUE skies with some SILVER clouds SAILING across the horizon!!

CNU85

anyone else notice that Ferrum has won twice as many games as last year already......has 1 OT loss in the conference and will most likely be 4-1 going into the final 2 weeks. Plus their fans have been quiet on this board lately.

I smell a trap!! ;D
