I'm counting on CNU85 (who i think I just volunteered for the job ;D) to text me updates of the game at POMOCO since we're wireless-less in Murvul.

you got it...scores on the way.

Tough one to call down at CNU this weekend.  Hard to beat the Captains at CNU, but man NCWC looks good on paper.

Home field advantage is huge with CNU and might be all they need to secure the title outright. but... I guess if I had to put money on the game I would go with NCWC.  Either way - going to be a great game down there!

85, thanks for the directions to Pomoco. I plan on getting down there
early. NCW has a lot of kids from the Tidewater & Peninsula area so family
and friends will be showing up for this one. The weatherman is calling for
sprinkles right now. Let's hope for good football weather and ideal conditions,
it'll make for a good game. What's all this stuff about NCW speed? Like CNU
doesn't have speed--- give me a break. This could be a real track meet.
See all yall Saturday. GO BISHOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!

+1 for calling it Tidewater instead of lame "Hampton Roads"...

Narch, I only have one drink....I just have a bunch of that one drink  ;)
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

Narch- Thanks man, i will be there on the 10th. I am going to coe down and see the new facilities they have built on campus. I heard the science building was something special to look at. My question is when are they going to redo the stadium and upgrade it. They have talked about it even when we were in school there. They need to get a visitors section. The place could look just as good as pomoco if someone they would design it right. Beautiful stadium for a nice campus.

Allsky7- No i am not talking about maryville. I didnt go there at all, and i know its easy to get confused with my screen name. But now you know, just for the record.
GO MONARCHS!! 2005 Conference Champs!

MU.....I knew you were a Methodist guy but I thought maybe you were headed to MC this weekend. Just wanted to extend some hospitality and make sure you made it to where the "crazy" tailgating will be taking place.  ;) I have a feeling this game is going to be a tough battle. GO SCOTS!!

MU_ftbl51

Allsky7- Yeah man, i wish i could make it up there. I coach high school football now, so i do not get to go any away games, hell barely any home games! However i remember when we played there in 2005, it was a wild and crazy place man. The fans were nice. However, i know it is not funny, but in a way it was.
After that game, i was in the parking lot with some friends from our team. Some MC fans walked by and shook their heads. The one guy turned and said nice game 51. I looked, smiled nodded, said thanks buddy, your guys played hard as well, good job. He said that sucks so bad, we have the lead, and now we dont at the end of the ball game. He said i was almost drunk when that happened to, and now its like i drank for no reason. I kind of laughed, and went on. You guys are serious about football up there.
I also heard that high school ball up there is pretty good too. Maryville high school has been pretty darn good over the past couple of years. Good luck, but i hope Methodist can pull one out.
GO MONARCHS!! 2005 Conference Champs!

Old Ref

This post appeared on the ODAC Board....... Needs to be read by Everyone!

Guys, Just a few thoughts about two of our friends on the Board who are on active duty in the U.S. military.  They are FMFDOC on active duty in Iceland and ABNRGR. Both of these men have gone on active duty from civilian jobs into harm's way for all of us. To put a few things in perspective, we banter on an almost daily basis about who has the best team in the ODAC, better offense or defense, and even trivialities such as attendance. Speaking matter of factly, this really doesn't mean Jack. Think about the sacrifices that they are making for all of us. Keep these guys in your prayers and Godspeed to both of them. There's an inscription at 82nd Airborne Memorial that says " Only two people have ever offered to die for you. One was Jesus Christ and the other is the American GI. One died for your soul, the other died for your freedom." So the next time you're watching a football game, make sure to remember those two -- FMFDOC and ABNRGR.

Peace.

Today's MDT pick's panel included MC's game as normal, against methodist as well know, but also included the NCW at CNU game.
The column associated is http://www.thedailytimes.com/article/20071026/SPORTS0102/71026006/-1/SPORTS but the panel graphic isn't yet uploading to the web.

Of the 16 East Tennessee pickers 15 picked Murvul with Fitzsimmons being the only MU vote at 17-16.

For the big game: its an 8-8 split. The top three pickers, thus far, all gave the nod to Wesleyan to win at POMOCO.

On the recruiting side, several high school players have stopped by practice the last few weeks to watch during their fall breaks, which is something new in the number of different high schools. Also there are several D2 and D1 playoff guys that are looking at coming home from various schools in the region, though none are a done deal. Guess field success can translate into recruiting success.

If you are headed to the AU, CNU, or any other game in Virginia tomorrow take rain gear and row boat. They were predicting showers today and clearing tomorrow but everyone I have talked to here in Tidewater and Danville said it has been more like Northeaster downpours all day today and tomorrow is looking the same. Sounds like runing games will get a work out tomorrow.

Which sucks!! CNU was hoping to have a near record turnout....which is over 6,000. Not gonna happen in the rain!!

I was at the VT game last night...nearly 70,000 strong in a downpour....and LOUD!!!!! What a game!! I hate the prevent D....can't figure out wht you would change from a scheme that allowed 149 yds in 56 minutes to a scheme that gives up about 170 yds in 4 minutes..."don't make no sense to me, son"

The VT fans are awesome....I was wacthing people file in......people older than me....women, men, kids......they were on their feet during the entire game (except with 11 seconds to go.....most jumping up and down when the D was on the field. When Metalica was played, the players got hyped up and the fans were so intense I thought the stadium would collapse - jumping in unison....kinda like the Cameron Crazies for Duke basketball.....only 70,000 of them!!....that was big time football (I know there is bigger)...but man, what an atmosphere!!

Oh - I was dry...skybox....fireplace...bartender...food...TV.....aaahhhhhh :D :D

After watching my team and a few others in college and the pro's I finally figured out what Prevent D means.. It prevents "D" team using it from winning the game. ;D
Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

True...and I heard exactly that about 15 times last night as well as some choice words for Beamer.
