If there are any errors in this week's ATR story about the CNU/NCW game - it's the editor's fault!!!  :D :D :D

Seriously though, thanks go out to Ryan Tipps for allowing me to put down a few notes on the game!

I saw the weekly awards that the USA South gave out and just a thought about the defensive player of the week from Methodist... isn't it bad when the Safety is making most of the tackles???  Also, I don't think he was the one w/ the interception.  Still no knock against him.  Just a thought, I know my coach always said if the DB's are making most of the tackles then the line and linebackers aren't doing their jobs.

more whinese...does m'ville offer a masters in that language :)

seriously, though, i'd be willing to bet that king played most of the game lined up more like a lb than a safety...that's how he's been lined up most of the time when the monarchs have played at home this season and i can't imagine it would be different against a team that was shoving the ball down the monarchs throat - i do agree with your line about db's making a lot of tackles, especially when a team isn't throwing the ball a lot, but if a fs is lined up 5-7 yards off the ball, he's really playing lb even if his official position is as a fs - regarding the int, i haven't seen the tape, but i know the coaches have...typically if a kid isn't the one who made an interception, they would have changed that box score by now... they haven't, which leads me to believe that he is, indeed, the one who made the interception

looking at the other candidates, this looks like it was a tough week to pick - 18 tackles sure does stand out, but the de from ferrum (green) had 3 tfl's and 2 sacks among his 10 tackles and the crew kid from su had 2 picks, one of which was a pick 6...tough decisions...

Yeah like I said not a knock on the kid b/c no matter how you cut it 18 tackles is one heck of a day.  It was just a general comment not directed at a particular team/player.  I do know especially by the 4th quarter, Methodist had 8 in the box and you could count 9 really b/c MU had the safety really close.  Either way good for him for the good game.  On the Shenandoah... GO Scots!!

Been a little busy.

But Greensboro played well enough last week to win and didn't so I am sure they will win this week.

Seems like you wait with such anticipation for football season to arrive and it's gone just like that.   :'( Just something about a fall Saturday afternoon. Just doesn't get any better than that.  8)

I think all this hot weather we've had with only one weekend of real fall weather has made it seem like we haven't had a real season. Trying to find a shade tree and getting sun burned beyond belief is not what I call having fun at a football game.

Amen and pass the aloe. ;D
What was that first game in October 90 something degrees?

I'm waiting to see if its spin that SU might take a MU pass approach to the Scots ... that would shock the world! Especially if it worked.

So are we at group consensus that NCW looks to cruise to the first outright title (how is it that CNU never did that?) Do they have any first round hope? The conference is down but seems like they have the firepower to play now and the confidence to use it they were missing in losing those early two games.
(Oh wait might that kinx NCW, oh no, heavan forbid  ::))

Best game in the conference tomorrow NCW vs Ferrum!!!!!
Hey, Ryan will you be there? The Bishops should eek out a
victory by a 35-20 score. Ferrum can play loose because they
are the surprise team of the season. Should be a good one
GO BISHOPS!!!!!!

Good luck to the Captains this week. Bounce back against the Cougars and play hard and improve in your last 2 games. Hey, you never know what might happen the next two weeks thus the reason why they play the games.
