Hey Tom - good to hear from you again. I left a post for you on the ODAC board - be safe!

My sympathy to the family of Coach Bowers and the M'ville community,
it always hurts to see a young promising life come to a tragic end. My
love to all involved.

The men of NCW are traveling now and all that I have said before still
stands. A solid defense, good decision making on offense and the know
how of the coaching staff will carry them throughout the playoffs.
GO Bishops!!!!!!!!!!

For all interested parties: According to Weather Underground, Saturday's forecast for Belton, Texas and the NCW vs. UMHB game is for temps in the lower 40s with a 90% chance of rain and northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

Good luck NCW.  All of Maryville is proud of the Battling Bishops.  Get a great win for the USA-South on Saturday.

64-0.....dang.....

I knew it was over when Ralph posted "Welcome to Texas"!!!

Ok...I will be at the Stagg Bowl.......I'm hoping UMHB will be there.....I will be a Crusader fan that day. If someone will bring me a hat, I'll be glad to either pay for it, or trade a CNU hat that you can let your dog play with in the back yard!!  :D

not well enough, apparently :)

ncwc, great run this season - umhb is a great football team and going into their place and winning in the playoffs isn't easy - don't hang your heads for too long...you've done something very few other teams have done in their 4th year of existence!

From what I am reading on the ASC board NCW was no prepared for the weather
that greated them today. Tough to keep your head inh a game when you are chilled and wet before the game starts.

Congrats to NCW on a great season. Don't let one game ruin what you have accomplished.

LOL yeah the weather had something to do with it. NCWC was lucky to get an overrated 1 seed in the first round, and got their wake up call today.

Happened all over the country. The NCAA needs to do something about how they go about selecting and seeding teams.

I'm guessing this was sarcastic (that's the trouble with the written word, no inflection so you have to guess), but the weather may have played a role.  NCWC was on the sideline without jackets, gloves, blankets...anything to keep them dry or warm.  Most of the team, qb included, didn't even have hand warmers.  The field was slick, there was no cutting hard or bouncing out if you were going forward so when they tried to run in the middle, there was no ability to cut back into an open hole.  I'm not saying they would have won or that it would have been close, but I think the weather did effect their play
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I would just like to take a moment to express to you all just how much Cody Bowers meant to everyone. I had the privilege of knowing this young man and his family for several years, having attended the same high school and college as Cody (even though I am several years older). When I think of Cody the one thing that stands out to me was just how polite and well- mannered this young man was. In this day it is often rare to find someone that is truly genuine in his morals. This is a very difficult time for all of us in the Maryville and Loudon communities. Please remember his family in your prayers, and it is my prayer that no other college family will have to go through a tragedy such as this. I know that without a doubt that I am a better person for having known Cody Bowers.

God Bless You Cody Bowers

I would just like to congrats the players of NCW for a great season. Coming from a school that is young in years of football, I know how great of an accomplishment it is to already be making the second round of the playoffs. Wish that the weather could have been better for the game, but I guess that is to be expected when you are playing football this deep into the year.

Also congrats to any of you who made it to Belton, the weather was terrible and the trip was long but you guys made some noise for your boys.
