Congrats to NCWC for a great year. Take Saturdays game and learn from it. That's all you can do.

Congrats to Snake for going 8-0 in the picks this past weekend ... probably the one guy in the country that picked Central to beat St. Johns.........good luck the rest of the way..

Ryan, its been a pleasure and loads of fun. Look forward to doing it again next year.

I will continue to follow the boards as I have learned a great deal about DIII football in past two years. Probably won't talk a lot but do a great deal of reading and listening. Hopefully I will have something to brag about next season.

FYI, my vote is that Mt. Union will go all the way.

Ladies and Gentlemen
It is a cool 43 right now; just right for a football game. But alas no grass just sand and large rocks. No wonder they are miserable  here. No football!!

Well let me assure you that while you are sleeping that thousands of young brave Americans are prowling the skys and road looking for bad people.

You would be proud, humbled I should say to see them in action. Let me assure you that I am in a support role because of my age so I am not taking credit.

Peace.......well not really ;)
Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

Good morning abnrgr,

This week, I spoke with a mother of a soldier, whose son is over there.  She talked about the new water and sewage treatment facility that they had just completed.  Finally, water so clear that you could read a newspaper thru the glass!  Not drinking sewage any longer!

Mothers, taking their children to school.  The things that those men and women are doing!

Her son turned 21 during his tour.  Her brothers had been in Viet Nam and said that his return for R&R would be surreal, so the mother and the uncles brought him back to Las Vegas.  They all met him there.  She gave him $2000 to spend at the Craps tables and just enjoyed watching him learn.  Up $4000, down to $100, back up again.  What a wild time they had as she smiled with the pride and joy.  Oh, she is proud of her son.

No greater love is there than for a man to lay down his life for another.  I hope that sacrifice will not occur, but to believe in that, and to act upon those convictions, is to understand things far greater than we ourselves.

I am grateful for my "band of brothers", both of them. The experience was not nearly as demanding as the vernacular suggests, but significant to me nonetheless.  In some ways, I have never been prouder or more deeply humbled than my experience with them.

Travel safely, abnrgr!  My prayers are with you and yours.  ;)

God Bless Our troops and their families.....my son did 3 tours in Iraq..with the last one finding his truck blown up....he returned to us unharmed and now is in Germany for 3 years....my sister lost her son in Iraq....2 days after his daughters first birthday....a pain and emptyness no family should have to endure....but we are proud of him -- he was doing what he loved (next to playing football!)...I AM PROUD of all our soldiers and know the GOOD we are doing in Iraq!  STAY safe and I will continue to pray for your safe return!

God Bless you!

Just noticed on Averett's web site that they have posted the 2008 schedule already and they have Bridgewater scheduled for the 1st game. Dunlevy loves to play the best.

Today let us remember our Soldiers and Sailors who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor and those who survived the attack in our prayers and thoughts.

Some food for thought for you folks.

This past year, it was a little tricky juggling my ATR column and the USA South pick-em contest. Since I'll be continuing next season with my column, I'm probably not going to run the pick-ems then. So if anyone is interested in picking up the slack, let me know!

I hope that they will go on, and I'll certainly participate if they do. The tallying, stat-searching and spead-making were heck of a lot of fun to do. Ask Kid. He'll attest to that, too, since he's the ODAC's guru. The combination of things are just a bit much for me to handle in a season.

So, I hope someone will carry the torch in 2008. I can send you the spreadsheet file that has all of my coding built into it.  :)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

congrats to all the usasac players who made d3football.com's all-region team, especially darryl lawrence, who was named a 2nd teamer

Nice article on the SU website highlighting former hornet Anthony Hayes making the roster for the Amarillo Dusters of Arena Football League 2.
