Narch hasn't been to the beach in a while and the salt water is washed out of his blood obviously making him less abrasive to the Pride....Come on down narch, we'll knock back some brews, get some brine in that blood and get you back to normal in no time  ;D
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

Wow!  :D :D
i thought i'd be nice for now...after all, his son hasn't officially enrolled at gc yet (meaning he could still change his mind and play for a team that not only has had a winning season, but should actually contend for a conference title...like mu :)) - once his son is officially a member of the pride team, i'll stop being nice to him :)

papi - i plan to make it down your way soon...i'll give you a heads up...i could clearly use a little salt air

Just heard that an Averett assistant was leaving to be an assistant at Methodist. Was curious if anyone has examples of losing a coach to another staff in conference. Also wonder how big of an advantage you think that gives Methodist over Averett.

Any of the Methodist faithful hearing these rumors or know anything about this.
it's official...i like his resume and he looks good in green & gold!

TOO MANY.......But in his defense, he only had 2 players on the OL with playing time experience and they stayed hurt most of the year.

narch

i don't see him coaching the o-line any time soon - the monarchs already have one of the best o-line coaches in the region (if not country) on the sidelines in carl funderburk

pretty hard to beleive Ginn would leave for position coaching duties at a D2. Must be money, problems at NCWC or most probably the cubbard is bare.

Not hard to believe at all, considering where he's going. GVSU is the by god best athletic program in small-college sports (I don't think there's anything they're not good at), and he's got an assoc. HC title.

He may have received word that his biggest sponsor, Dr. Ian Newbould, was leaving to become president of another college across seas.

Thank God, Spring Training will start up here in a week or so. Maybe there will be some talk on this board. It is as dry as the lakes in Ga. Somebody could at least start something......gossip, lies, anything to get a conversation going.

I know Averett is losing a coach to Methodist. Are there any other coaching changes or major developments going  on at your favorite school? I see on the ODAC that W&L is getting a new Offensive Cord.

narch

the monarchs got a win today!  they officially finished 2007 5-5 when ehc forfeited all of their wins for using an ineligible player

story

kudos to ehc for doing the right thing and forfeiting games...it still strikes me as odd that guilford didn't do the right thing a few years ago

NCWC

Supposively, the number one ranked high school QB, Pryor, took a great deal of time in his consideration to NCWC.  The dealbreaker was when the Buckeyes gave him a car and set up a retirement fund.

It's after basketball and before football, so I'm bored.  One word: cupboard.

narch, the Quakers have you for a 7 pm start in September - are you going to make the trip?

kickerdad

This may be old stuff for some, but I am just trying to get some talk going during the dry season here.

You have the following rivalries between USC & UCLA, Alabama & Auburn, Michigan & Michigan State, Ohio State & Michigan, Florida & Florida State, Virginia & Virginia Tech.....so who are the rivalries in the USA South? Is it Ferrum & CNU, CNU & Methodist, Averett & Ferrum or Averett & Maryville? Sound off, who do you thing the big rivalries are. Or are the with out of conference teams like Greensboro & Guildford? This is only my 3rd season so I am not sure whose number one foe Averett is. It could be Maryville, Ferrum or CNU. Don't have a clue, looking for some other Averett followers to chime in on this one.

CNU85

I think rivalries are still being formed. Remember, most teams in the USA South are less than 10 years old. I know CNU considered SU their main rivalry b/c in the beginning we had a hard time beating them...especially in their home. But with the rise of NCW.....but now their coach is gone....AU makes somse sense, too.....Ferrum has a rich tradition....

still forming...I think

CNU Dad

Having two sons play at CNU (one graduated the other will be a Jr) I think CNU's biggest rival is Ferrum. My older son once said SU, because they won at Pomoco, but it seemed every year that last game of the season against Ferrum had conference championship ramifications. Now with my younger son NCW has won the last two meetings, so I know he wants that win this year. But with the NCW coach leaving, and the way the Ferrum game got ugly at the end, I would still have to Vote Ferrum.
