What happened to Parks???  Did he leave MU?  He played a heck of a game against us last season....

I agree, Parks was/is a good QB. I thought he was Methodist's future for the next several years.

Methodist has another good young QB coming from my former school, South View. I pushed and pushed for him to go to MU, and I finally got my wish. Don't be surprised if he starts early and ends up with every Methodist passing record. Just remember who told you first.

This raises a question I've had for years. What are the rules on recruiting by Alum at the D3 level?

rocket

Parks left school this past semester and transferred to Florida. I'm not sure if he is going to try and walk on or if he is just going to be a regular student. That was a pretty big hit for MU. They expected great things from him.
I was a coach at South View this past year when they recruited our QB. He obvioulsy had a lot of questions for me, and I gave him a lot of answers. I wouldn't say I recruited him, but I let him know where I stood on the subject!!
The kid is going to be good too. He tied my school record for completions on 50 fewer attempts and 20 less games played. One more game and he would hold all of my school records. He is pretty impressive, and I was shocked that he didn't get offers from somewhere else.

Good info Rocket. I'm always hesitant when I run into someone who is considering playing for CNU (usually their parents). I remember asking the CNU coach once about speaking to someone and he was adamant that I not talk to anyone from a recruiting standpoint b/c of NCAA rules. I recently met someone whose kid is heading to Widener to play OL. I had to refrain from giving a CNU speach.

Hey 85,
This might be a thing for you to answer. While I loved CNU's matchups with Rowan, I always loathed how the out-of-region game counted for CNU come playoff time. Now, one of the additions to the sked for '08 is ANOTHER out of region team (Wilkes). Why is this?

I can appreciate the intent to keep the level of competition strong, but it seems to be trading one negative for another. Did the Caps have trouble filling out 10 games? Was this by design? Any insight here?

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Ryan,

Heck if I know. That would involve a thought process too deep to contemplate in my spare time. A good question, though. I'll ask around. Kelchner is a Susquehana (sp?) grad.....does he just like that area?....Salisbury, Wilkes, Rowan, Wesley.......Oh heck Ryan...now I'm actually giving it some thought...dang...right before a week on the beach, too!   ;D

It was my pleasure to get you all flummoxed before your week at the beach!  :D :D

But I suppose it can wait till you get back  ;)  If you do hear anything, let me know. Just something I'm curious about -- and my brain is already in football mode.

Have fun at the beach!!

Just read the article on the front page about former players in the AFL...and didn't see Jeff Hughley's name mentioned.  I thought he made the jump from AFL2 to the AFL this year.  Anybody know about his situation?

Pat Coleman

He was waived by the Colorado Crush on Feb. 22 and I haven't seen any further transactions on him.

It looks like he's back with the Tulsa Talons after getting cut by the Crush.

Press release about him:
http://tulsatalons.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=95&Itemid=2
Excerpt: "He returned to the Talons after going through training camp with the Arena Football League's Colorado Crush, and is off to another hot start in 2008 with nine TD catches in three games."

He's racked up a handful of awards this year with the Talons as Offensive Player of the Game, Ironman of the Game and Defensive Player of the Game.

ahhhhhhhh! The beach is nice....so nice, in fact, that I'm not gonna bother looking up "flummoxed".

Pat Coleman......just read the blog about your move. Best Wishes in the move. Hope everyone and everything makes it safely. Are you originally from MN?

I was actually thinking about trying to get up there this year for a Vikings game. Been a fan since 1969.

Skol Vikings!!
