Your site is awesome, Thanks.  Im just not into reading the bio's on every D3 team in the Nation.

I doubt too many people read all 239 teams. It's just telling that not one Greensboro fan in four years cares enough to drop 5.95 or 9.95 to support the site and put their money where your mouth is.

Glad you think it's awesome. But it costs us a bunch of money to keep the site in operation for you to use for free. Thankfully, 238 other schools are funding your habit.

Uhh . . . . Pat - I know you're enjoying this little non-football thread, but you can never say again that not one GC fan has ever purchased your membership.  Am I right?!? Sorry, but I bought it , , , , 8)

Me thinks you may have other unmentionable issues with GC, not that I care - but I do enjoy your site - you guys do a great job that I am sure is not very rewarding and is thankless and tiring. :)

BTW, does this post hurt my karma?  :o

Are there any answers to the questions I asked about FOOTBALL? Enough of the 'buy this or you're a jerk' stuff. What's happening at the USA SAC FOOTBALL camps?  I am especially interested in The Pride team (er - GC - sorry)  :-*

Welcome aboard, D3Newbie!  +1!

Pat and the guys decided to add content to the site by creating KICKOFF!  With the revenue that he gets from the subscription to the pre-season e-mag, he was able to discontinue "pop-ups" on the message baords as a source of ad revenue.  The extra income also permitted some plane flights to see teams around the country.

It is all about building D3 fan base!  :)

moshergc9

Yeah Thank God for those other schools

Thanks, Ralph!

and Pat - $9.95 a month is a cheap price to pay to read somebody talking about D3 Football - no place else to go and nothing else like it . Seriously, thanks! :)

BTW, something is wrong with my karma - it looks like it went up - whats with that!?!?

com'on, Pride, WINSOME!! 8)

any updates on the Big Green Pride practices yet? I heard they practiced at 8AM this morning - on SUNDAY! Don't want to mess with the Big Guys day of rest - we need all the help we can get!  ::)

Greenboro visits Guilford at 7 pm on September 6.  Will Vogelbach make it a career sweep?  It should be a good one!  I hope the Greensboro fans will give me a heads up of where you'll be and I'll say hello.  Oh yeah, one more thing ...

Go Quakers!  See you then!

Whats going on everyone? I am new to the board and would like to say i have enjoyed all of your discussions throughout my years at CNU. I just graduated this past semester, so i figured I would finally join the board (since Coach K can't make me run anymore ). First of all I would like to thank all the CNU supporters who have cheered us/me on.  Now that I am an ulumn, i will be one of the biggest supporters of the Captains.  I had the pleasure of sitting in on the Captains practice yesterday, and the boys are looking good. I'm very excited about this year.  Let's get the discussions rolling boys.

Welcome 63! Hey, Coach K just called me. He wanted me to tell you that he expects you at practice today...he has some laps for you to run!  :D :D

ok...so he didn't call. But he will find a way to make you run!

Welcome cnu63. Hope you enjoy these boards as much as I have. Are you from the Virginia/Tidewater area? Even though my son plays at Averett, we know a lot of folks at CNU. It is like a reunion when I go over there.

My welcome also, cnu63.  Check out the other boards as well, especially in the early part of the season, when there are a lot of inter-conference games.  I follow the ODAC and some of the southernmost schools often have a steady diet of USASAC teams before they get into conference play.

Practice has started - where are the updates from those that are there? Who's looking good?

Any hope this year for The Pride? What games might we win?

How do the QBs, RBs, WRs and defenses look in the conference this year?

Any news on any new Greensboro players?

GC FB is practicing - right?

Do they play any scrimmage games this year, or are they saving it all for the conference?

Thanks!

caught about 40-45 plays of the monarch scrimmage today - they were pretty dominant against a bigger, more athletic louisburg team - on defense...lc had just 2 plays of more than 5 yards in about 25-30 snaps and the defense forced 2 to's, had a sack and had 3 or 4 negative yardage plays...and scored a td in a special teams drill (blocked fg) - i wasn't sure what to think of the defense with all the losses at lb, but the dl looks improved and the back-end is playing like they did at the end of the year last year...which is to say, pretty well

on offense, the monarchs threw an early int that didn't look great, but the had a sustained drive of around 6-8 plays that covered around 40 yards before it stalled out - there is a te that made a really nice catch and dragged some guys with him - the running game looked solid and the qb's made solid decisions - the offense still seemed a bit vanilla, but i was pleased with the limited action i saw

louisburg is a tough read, though - the roster is so fluid there, that it's hard to get a good read on what they'll be - they are big, though, and their qb was about 6'2", with a big (albeit inaccurate) arm and the ability to run around...the monarch defense seemed to really bottle him up - they had some big wr's, but the monarch db's looked bigger than usual - the mu defense was very aggressive today bring some blitzes and flying around

this little glimpse of the season has me pretty jacked up about 9/6/08

That would be a tough scrimmage to judge.  Most of those Louisburg kids are right out of hs??  So Methodist is playing with a much more developed team.

Who is starting at qb for methodist?

lc's players are all frosh or sophs...but many are legit d1/d2 talents who didn't qualify academically - from a raw ability standpoint, most of them would be in the mix for burn at any usasac school, even as frosh - you're right, though, they are young and less developed than those at a 4 year school, but i'm not sure i would say much less developed - look around the usasac and see how many frosh and sophs are on 2 deep charts...

teague is starting at qb, and i think it's his job to lose (this is not based on anything other than my gut feeling and what i saw yesterday) - he's the son of a coach who knows the game, he's smart, he can run and he makes good decisions...i'm confident that the monarch offense will be in capable hands with him - i'm hearing that the wr's that mu brought in are very talented and they've got a pretty good wr coach working with them, harrison & mcguire are going to be a very effective tandem with different running styles (i'm hearing there is a freshman rb who will be in the mix, as well) - the line isn't as deep as it has been in the past, but it's talented and coach funderburk will get them to perform
