Kickerdad,
Does Florida now border Southern VA? LOL

I noticed that Averett had 39 kids on their roster from Florida. Was just wondering if there was a Florida connection or they just liked to winter in Danville?  :)

Ever since I have been associated with Averett, they (Coaches) love to recruit out of Florida. No idea what the connection/reason - 39/40 is around the normal for Florida guys on the roster.

Maryville back in the day recruited heavily in FL. I would say based on their roster they still do. I assume the connection/reason is there is LOTS of talent in FL and no DIII schools.

The win column for USAS looks mighty bare. Congrats to Methodist for getting us at least 1 notch in the W column. I wonder if it would look better or worse had the CNU/Wesley game been played?

Well, Wesley was clearly favored, but you never know ... CNU has a good team and plays well at home.  My guess, however, is it would have been worse.   :-\

papi - i talked to some folks you know a little bit tonight :)

i'll give you a buzz soon...heading out to the chanel marker right now

If you are going to the Channel Marker you'll probably run into some more folks that know me more than a little bit  ;)

Just great! No CNU game last Saturday. They don't play this weekend. Then they hit the road for two games with the closest game the same weekend I'm in Chicago and Green Bay. The next home game is October 11. Oh wait - that's the weekend I'll be at a mandatory strategy "thing" for work....coupled with a UVA game! I better break out my izod sweater vest and brush up on my wine knowledge as I prepare to tailgate with some guy named Buffy.  :-\

That is funny 85! There weren't too many wine and cheese tailgaters from USC when I was there 2 weeks ago. Hit me up as I will be at the UVA vs. ECU game as well. Not tailgating though. I'll have 2 twelve-year-old UVA fans in tow.  ;)

narch - What's your take on the Monarchs and the Quakers this Saturday night?  Hope you make the trip and, if you do, make sure you say hello.  I can send you a PM of where I'll be.  Congratulations, by the way, on last weekend's win over the Camels!

narch

papi...i have five letters for you...the bt...interesting experience...'nuff said

'nova - i think the monarch defense will be tested big time - when the db's played up on the campbell wr's, i liked what i saw...bartee and co. are every bit as athletic and physical as the gcq wr's will be (maybe more so), but i'm not sure the monarch coaches have enough confidence to leave them out there one-on-one - if mu can get in vogelbach's face and force him to move around and rush his throws, i like the monarchs chances - if they sit back in zones, vogelbach will pick them apart - i think it will be much like the game last year...whoever has the ball last wins

and i won't be making the trip...i'm going to be in papi's neck of the woods through the weekend

AdmiralPapi

Fond memories of BT's...wait...no...I don't think I've ever remembered a night that I spent in BT's!  ;D

Hey, narch, I think you're right.  I was at last year's game in Fayetteville ... 50-47 was it?  We didn't have Hagen Miller (103 catches in 2007) last weekend for the Greensboro game, so I hope he'll be back against MU.  Even on a "off night", Vogelbach was 30 of 40 for 340 yards and two TDs.  He was picked off 4 times, but three were tipped.  He'll get his numbers, but I'm encouraged we had 116 net yards on the ground ... that forces the Defense to play the run as well.  Sorry you won't be there, but enjoy your trip.  Guilford has an internet audio (and I think video) feed for the game as well as a phone line you can listen in.  Just follow the links at www.guilford.edu.

I'm down at Maryville, taking in my first game ever in Tennessee. Looking forward to seeing the Scots bounce back from a tough loss last week.

I see a good possibility for the conference to win three of the games this weekend. We'll see....

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Go Tipps....Go Scots!! As last year, this is a big game for the Scots. Obviously, not a conference game but IMO, a huge game that will set the tone for the rest of the year.
