When I said "they should invest in a better QB" . I meant, the INT's killed them.

And speaking specifically about 2005 like you suggested. Ben performed extremely well. Especially when it really counted. In the playoffs he had a QB rating of 101.7 as opposed to Peyton who had a rating of 90.9.

Narch's whole argument is dumb. I won't waste any more time talking about a two week old game or about a 1 win team who's only shot at the playoffs is to buy a ticket.
This argument is dead to me.

What I wanna know is. What's the spread on the Ferrum v. NCWC game. Just how good is Ferrum? Im excited to find out.

This just in. Tunde Ogun is #2 in the nation in yards per game.

The FC/NCW game should be fun to watch!

Someone smarter than me check my thinking....from a standings perspective...this week's games for CNU and FC mean nothing. Even if one team, but not both, loses...the final game of the year will determine who takes the AQ. And since it is very doubtful that a conference team will get an at-large bid.....then as far as making the playoffs, this week really doesn't matter.

Of course, as a fan (and if you're a player or a coach) all games mean something - but I was just looking at it from a W-L in the standings standpoint come the end of the year.

Am I missing something or is this true?

Hey Narch....

I even got the "then" part right!

wesleydad

cnu85, how is it going?  your team seems to be doing well.  some think that we may even get to see that game we wanted to see in september, just that it is likely to be in dover in a couple of weeks.  it would be nice to hang with you before we get to salem.  good luck the rest of the year and see you in dover.

crazylegs33

85,

You are 100% correct. Everyone else has at least 2 losses in conference. With only 2 games left Ferrum and CNU are sitting on top. Im just glad the championship game is going to be here in Newport News at good ol' POMOCO on the 15th. Saturday should be a good gauge of what we will see come November 15th.

CNU85

Yes indeed. No matter what happens this Saturday, CNU wil be hosting the Championship game on the 15th. With this week being Homecoming and the following week having a huge importance, I can't wait to see the crowds. The last home game was lame at 2400.

My son is even taking off from work this week to join me at the game. It takes a lot for that baseball guy to go to a football game.

if that's what you meant, why didn't you say it...............at any point in time over the last two weeks

just about everything from your original post has now been altered - congratulations...you should have a glorious political career :)

Narch,

I was wondering if you were a student at methodist when the infamous
hazing/sodomizing
incident  took place? If so were you on the giving or receiving end of that Sharpie marker? Maybe that's why you are so uptight? Just busting your balls man. Have fun with your stats, I'll be at the game.

My level of respect for you was never all that high but after that comment it would need a ladder truck to get back in to the Mariana's Trench!
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

crazylegs33

Papi, it was just a joke. Kinda like the whole argument between Narch and I. It boiled down to a debate over what is considered late in the game. People get too uptight. Loosen up have some fun.

I'm not really concerned with who respects me. I will let my years of dedicated service speak for me. I do not give or lose respect for anyone's point of view. However, I have no respect for anyone who wishes ill fortune upon anyone or any team. Good sportsmanship applies to players as well as fans.

...yes it does, and you've shown this board just how classy you are

i don't want to make this personal, but you've shown exactly what happens when people are over their head intellectually in an argument - first they amend and qualify statements that they've made (check) - next, they try to change the subject (iverson vs. nash was germane to this particular debate in what way?), then they start to act as if they don't care ("narch's whole argument is dumb") and lastly they stoop, lash out and make it personal, as you have

i know you're going to (and have) defend your statement as being "just a joke", but your comment is inappropriate and in bad taste, even if meant in jest - if that's your idea of a joke, please do the world a favor and stay out of any comedy clubs

This weekend is meaningless even if both teams lose. They would still be tied with one conference loss a piece.

I will say with prejudice that Ferrum is a good team. I think better than they were in the last few years. They still run the option, and statistically are ranked pretty high.

Their rushing offense is ranked 5th. in the nation.Their defense against the rush is pretty outstanding also. Ranked 34th nationally. In conference statistics show NCW ranked 1st in 7 categories, and Ferrum ranked 1st in 7 categories, There are only three team categories left. Averett, has 1 (sacks)CNU has 1, (turnover margin)and Greensboro has (Pass defense)

They are a good team. Are they as good as NCW? It will be close. I will take the Panthers, because of the home field. Are they as good as CNU? Hard to say. I think CNU is good, and that Running back must be tough...very very tough.
I have seen his numbers, and he is head and shoulders above the rest.

Can Ferrum hang with the Captains? Well I think this. Ferrum is alot better than the last time they played at Pomoco, and without Faison I believe that CNU is somewhat more average. While CNU has a strong club, It seems that this year the spotlight is on Ogun. Can Ferrum stop him...I doubt it. He is talented, and is one of those backs you hope to contain. I will say this. I think Ferrum's D  will contain him. (I hope so anyway)
I am not even going to start debating quarterbacks, but Ferrum is using a two QB system. I am not that big of a fan ot this, and I am not sure it will be as prevelant these next two weeks, but to this point, It has worked pretty well. Marcus Mayo is very athletic, and is much like Jermaine Pitts from a couple of years back. I think he will be hard to deal with by his senior year. He is a sophomore now.
Ferrum is tough, and I think they will beat NCW but it will be close. No predictions for the 15th....yet. I do not agree with Wesleydad that it is a foregone conclusion that Wesley and CNU will meet in the playoffs. Ferrum is strong, and they should not be sold short.

Ferrum only has 9 seniors this year, and only three of them are starters. It will only get better for the Panthers.

If you want to find out more about the year Ferrum has had, I have a blog.
