congrats to the captains...they have clearly been the best team in the conference all season...they have some weaknesses and they're a little one-dimensional, but that doesn't mean they can't make some noise in the ncaa's - ogun is an all-american, in my mind, and he can carry them a long way

i was a little surprised by the results today...i listened to the game until just before hoops tip-off and the monarchs were dominating the hornets on the ground...at the game i heard an update that su had gone up 24-7, and i was shocked

this was a long, tough season for the monarchs, but there were some bright spots...peoples really emerged as a top-flight wr...he should be an all-conference selection...and teague had a solid first season as a starter, despite some ups and downs - scales and mcguire are a nice backfield combo and lots of young guys got quality playing time on the o-line and everywhere on the defense...i hope they realize that 2-8 is not monarch football and dedicate themselves in the off season

again, good luck to the captains in the playoffs...rep the conference well

Yikes. That could make it harder on a yds per game basis. The leader is DeRon Brown from MIT and since they are not in the playoffs, Tunde will need to keep rushing for over 182 per game to make it up.

Well I am back home now, and have a chance to really post some thoughts.

1st Ogun is the real deal. I was proud of the way Ferrum handled him. He is tough however. Did he really have 181 yards...It did not seem like that much to me, but they add up fast.

2nd. A lot of credit to the CNU D Line especially in the last 1 1/2 qtrs. They really wore down Ferrum.

3rd What a nice crowd on both sides...I expected it from CNU, but Ferrum brought a good amount also.

4. CNU was the better team today, but I really did believe that even on the last play a hail mary was possible for the Panther win. Just was not to be.

5. Ferrum's Defense was GREAT today. Tough.

6 Good Luck CNU next week. I will be pulling for you.....take it to ahhh whoever.

7. CAint wait till next year...we only lose 3 starters!

Agreed on all points. Some people were commenting from our side of the field that Ferrum fans needed more seating on the visitors side.

What a fantastic game to watch. I didn't realize Ogun had 181 either....he just plugs away. CNU has a few backups that I didn't see play. Legister was one of them. He's a Fr and is bigger than Ogun and seems to have the same running style. He usually mops up in the 4th qt with 10 carries for 60 yds. The D is usually wiped out from chasing Ogun all day and then Legister demoralizes them.

A game like today is what championship football is all about. EVERYONE played their hearts out. Hitting like I haven't seen in awhile was happening on every play. Very few penalties.

If Ferrum is only losing 3 starters....rut-row. Look out. I have to check to see how many CNU is losing. Not many and in most cases CNU substitutes freely everywhere except maybe the O-line. Key loss will be the kicker, Jay Graham.

Box score says attendance was 3525. It looked like a lot more than that.

great pictures, but boy are those ferrum uniforms hideous...i can live with the gold shirt, but monochrome gold just doesn't do it...that uni is screaming for some black pants...

CNU85

Narch,

I thought the same thing when I saw them. Cat %$^^ yellow. Black pants would make that uniform look scary.

Anyone know when Pat and gang have their final projections posted? Of course this year it may take them all night.

Considering I did the math and he trails the kid from MIT by 0.05 yards!

The most exciting part of my 4 years with CNU was the day of the playoff selections. I can't say I feel any different right now. The anticipation is killing me!

As far as Tunde and the rushing yards per game. Cool, but I don't care if he doesn't get it.
JUST WIN BABY!!!
'02, '03, '04, '06...    4 years, 4 championships...

After today, It won't bother me at all to see the CNU kicker graduate.

What years did you play? I'm only vague about it....2002-2005? I do remember one TD run. I think it was your first. If I remember right..it was at POMOCO, south end of field where the band is now.....I think it was a one or two yard off right plunge....Chowan???

On this I have to agree. When I was at Dear ol' FC It was more of a black and yellow, but the jersies were either black or white with yellow trim. I hate the ugly gold.
