Quote from: PointSpecial on February 27, 2007, 03:44:04 PMWell, I'm Point Special, not Old School...

You two certainly get confused for each other a lot, which is understandable. I mean, if you weren't a foot and a half taller than OS and of a different race, you two could be twins. :D

I suppose it COULD be possible... Separated at birth (and a few years in age, about 13-14 inches)...

I've always thought it strange that my parents don't have baby pictures of me...

And there have been studies of twins separated at birth who ended up doing the same thing (like both being firefighters, or teachers...)  Maybe THAT is what compelled me to transfer to SP!  Huh!

I went to school with twins who ended up about nine inches different in height.  Very odd, but I guess 14 isn't too much of a stretch.

I assumed there would be more discussion on Raymond capturing the MOP Award.  No one thinks that was a bit of a surprise?

I think he was certainly in the top 3, but wasn't Freeman more deserving with his numbers and with being a Senior?  Perhaps Raymond's strong performance in the latter part of the season helped?

Believe me, I love the choice, but I'm not above questioning it.

As I have posted a few times this year, I think Zach Freeman and Kent Raymond were the two best players in the CCIW.  Freeman led the league in scoring and rebounding (which has now only happened 6 times) and Raymond, of course, is amazing.  Those were my top two M.O.P. candidates.  Congrats to Kent Raymond and all of the All-CCIW picks!

Totally agree they were the two best.  What would sway the vote to Kent over Zach when the league leader stats and frequency of occurence would place the Senior over the Sophomore?  Raymond is truely amazing, Zach is outstanding!!!!!

Getting Karma points from Ralph and Dennis on the same day.....Priceless!!

That makes my day.  ;D

Well, Raymond's team made the CCIW tournament, Freeman's finished 6th, and unde .500 on the year (well under in conference play)... individual stats don't mean a whole lot I guess if your team can't do anything.

What I want to know though, is which twin was taller, the brother or the sister?
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here, all out for Wesleyan!

Well they were both guys when I knew them, whether something happened earlier in life, I know not.  I really never did ask to see birth certificates though.

I'm 5'3"...at least that's what my official height is listed at.  PS was listed at 6'9".  that's 18 inches, right?  I just can't wait until one of the Nonemachers show up at the Point game on Saturday.  I think I'll need to get a pic of all three of us.  He's 7'0"...and if only we could get Kerry Gibson to show up! lol.

Ironically, and this is no joke, I did have a twin brother.

If you think you've had enough snow and winter weather - these folks got 30 inches on day.

The award is MOP, not MOT.  It is an Outstanding Player award and I stand by my vote for Zach as MOP!  Barring a season ending injury to the point guard and his replacement having such bad knees he had surgery today, the team that couldn't would have.  Witness 2 losses to the conference and tournament champs by a total of 4 points and you know what they were almost capable of.  What they did was pure guts and drive through the season lead by MOP Zach!

CCIW regulars-----

I, for one, (possibly the only one?) would be interested in learning if the graduating seniors on your teams made it into the all time top 10 positions of any of the primary statistics for your school.

For North Central------

Dan Walton (1st team all conference) finished FIRST  in career field goal percentage (.593). He finished SEVENTH in all time scoring with 1,308 points.

Anthony Simmons (2nd team all conference) finished FIFTH in all time FG percentage (.551) and EIGHTH in all time scoring with 1,301 points.

Adam Krumtinger finished tied for FIRST in all time games played with 103.

Congratulations to Dan, Anthony, & Adam!  ;D

The great thing about sports is there isn't a lot of gray area. They keep score, so if a team has 20 wins, they are a 20 win team, if they have 5 wins, they are a 5 win team. There isn't any wiggle room, no "we lost but..." type arguments are really valid. IWU is the 7th place team in the conference...that means they are a pretty average or even down right not good team, maybe next year will be different but for right now they are a cellar dwellar, and believe me, I know about those! ha!

Speaking of next year, what is IWU looking like? From what I saw at the crackerbox they are going to be worse next year, but I only saw them place twice this year so I'm not the best to comment.
