OT:  North Park hosts North Central for Homecoming this year.  As I perused the NCC website, I learned that NCC competes against Wheaton for the Little Brass Bell and NCC's fans are called the Cardinal Crazies.

Why would NP schedule the defending conference champion for Homecoming?

How small is the little bell?

This needs to go in the FAQ, sheesh, I say it so often.

It may not say anything. Homecoming is rarely set by the football coach. It's more often set by the alumni office.

I would say the little brass bell is about 4-6 inches tall?

Since NPU doesn't have a traveling-trophy rivalry in football, and since noisemakers (Monon Bell, Little Brass Bell) seem to be a motif among D3 traveling trophies, I've often suggested that NPU and Concordia (IL) should play for the Big Clown Horn.

OK, enough of the football digression. Anyone checked out any summer league games over the past week or so?

Glad you asked Greg as my summer league is currently going swimmingly. In a team featuring such former NPU luminaries as Rob Berki, Keith Peterson, Chris Edquist, Mo "Bud" Greer, and Paul Hawkinson we are currently undefeated in the windy city fieldhouse league. Come to think of it, you might have been asking about current players leagues. Sorry.

Augie's heading to Asia this summer. Should be a tremendous experience for the Vikings players returning from last season. Coach G is especially excited about visiting the Great Wall and opening the new arena in Hohhot.

Also, speaking of summer leagues, at last look Dain Swetalla was leading the University of Iowa's Prime Time League (largely D1 and ex-D1 players) in rebounding.

Rob, you've gotta stop playing alongside guys like KP and Cousy. They're cramping your ambition to revive your basketball career as a point guard.

Indeed.  I have to imagine these sorts of quality overseas trips makes for a fantastic recruiting tool.

Augie's roster looks taller than last year, and I thought last year's squad, overall, was the tallest D3 squad I had ever seen.

AndOne,
North Park played right before NCC and won so they may be 4-1 at this point. They were running neck and neck with Trinity that's who I think they played(hard to tell because everyone wears different shirts but same color) and beat them at the buzzer, man those guys can shoot the 3's :o :o :o
I'd really like to agree with you,but then we both would be wrong........

Muskie, are you talking about NPU or Trinity shooting the 3's?
