Thanks for the Sun-Times links Q.

As a regular paper, I think the Enquirer is about as well balanced, but damn them, if they're going to include D-3 I may have to look occasionaly.

The city of Chicago seems almost embarrased about its D-3 teams.  Mayor Richie (pere) did designate a "North Park Day", but that was prety well uncovered as well.

I wasn't aware that the National Enquirer had a reporter covering the D-3 circuit.  I guess I'll have to renew my subscription.

Given the start of the season and the expectations therefrom - I'd think that Augie is in more of a "must win" situation than Carthage.  My take only...

I think Q was making the point that you have to protect your home court in the conference race. I agree with this.

Just a head's up to let everyone know we won't be webcasting Augie's next two games due to the vacation plans of my broadcast partner (Chris is headed to Mexico to escape the sub-zero temps here). As far as I know, tonight's game will available on Carthage's website and I believe Augie's student station, WAUG, is planning to cover Wednesday's home game against Millikin:

Chris and I will be back for the North Central game on 1/26.

Thanks again to Titan Q for listing these links.

(1) A couple last (hopefully) comment on Wednesday's  NCC- NP game:  Rogers had one foul going into the last 30 seconds of the game; based upon this fact, no North Central fan should be allowed any complaints about the calls.  Period.

(2) That said, the red headed ref was clueless both ways - missed the fact that
(3) Rogers smacked Williams in the face after the rebound (automatice ejection?) and many other calls (both ways).
(4) What really impressed me about that game, from an officiating standpoint, was the fact that they could miss stuff that happenend within two feet of them (welll noted previously).
(5) Oh, and for what it's worth, it was Riordan that hip checked Gordon to no call.  Sorry, Greg.

1. Spoken like a true NP alum. Period.   ;)
2. Already addressed in detail
3. If you're saying it was intentional---See the 1st paragraph of Greg's post #12927
4. As you also indicate--covered previously and agreed by all parties.
5. For what its worth--A) See my post #12928 indicating it wasn't Barringer, and
B) If you are going to become a regular CCIW poster who you want the rest of us to view as knowledgeable and credible you should be aware of what was already posted on the subject before your entry, and at least learn/know the names of the coaches and players. The NCC coach and player who share the same last name are Todd & Mitch Raridon--NOT Riordan.   :)

"I'm not commenting about Wednesday's game any longer. I've had my say, and I think that this discussion has gone on long enough."

AMEN!  The only thing you left out was the size of the ref's shorts!

Is that something that you really want to know, und63? Holy cow. NPU better make sure that there's a secure lock on the officials' changing room door when IWU visits next Saturday. :D

I do, too, although I think he overstates it when he says that a homecourt loser tonight would have "very little chance of winning the regular season title" ... given the topsy-turvy nature of the conference this year, I believe that it's way too early for such definitive count-'em-out-now statements.

For crying out loud, the NCC @ NPU game was four days ago. Both teams are back in action tonight. Can we move on, please?

You just don't see posts like this in the non-conference season.

NPC-Alum

Where does one pick up eye powder, Rochelle?  Does Jon help you with that?

My apologies for daring to talk abut the last game played.  By all means let us move on.

I am fairly certain the Bob can talk for himself.  I disagreed with his take on one single game - tonight.  Time will tell.  If you have a problem with out tak on the game, kindly post it.

NPC Alum, you should read cardinalfan's post again.  Pay close attention to "dry the eye"(comma) ;)

Good luck to all tonight.

Mr. Ypsi- were you arond in the late 80s?   We were seriously scared to road trip to Bloomington at that point...

The funniest thing I have ever hear to come out of normal, was Justine Monegayne yellling "All your Momas" at the IWU crowd in 1985.
