Yes!!!! :) :) :)

(Ooops.... did I just say that out loud?)  :D

I suppose I don't need to make the post where I was going to beg someone to beg him to come back in exchange for cookies anymore?

Ditto TBF's post... except for the part about me ever being in the stands for an IWU game!  :o

Absolutely outstanding player, terribly glad to see him getting the front page coverage he deserves... Godspeed your recovery Chris!
Wait, dunks are only worth two points?!?!!!? Why does anyone do them? - diehardfan

RIP WheatonC

Gregory Sager

While Martin's return certainly does North Park no favors, I'm glad he's coming back to play in 2005-06. I hate to see anyone get cheated out of a year of basketball because of health issues. He certainly would've been missed around the CCIW; his combination of all-around talent and unselfishness makes him so much fun to watch, even if you don't root for Elmhurst.

True Basketball Fan

How can you call yourself a die hard fan, if you don't plan on at least trying to attend a great game, like the Elmhurst/Wesleyan game will be.  I hate Wesleyan as much as you do, but I appreciate their great quality of basketball.  Therefore, true basketball fan, myself, will be there to enjoy small college basketball at its best.  Martin, Dauksas, Amelianovich are among the nation's greatest DIII players.  Miss that, no way!

TBF,

Much as April may sometimes wish she could, she doesn't 'hate' IWU - it is closer to grudging respect (in fact, I seem to recall her saying it was even her second favorite CCIW bball team).

But she is now in Virginia - unless an IWU-Elmhurst game can fit into a Wheaton weekend, we should hardly expect her to make the trip!  :P

(By now, with my 'tag-line', she may hate ME [just call off the 'Thunder', and my dog will forgive you!], but no indication that she hates IWU.)

I don't think that's particularly accurate anymore, and I don't blame her. It may have been at one point, but I'd be fairly certain it isn't now.

Pat,

I know what you're referring to (I think!), but I'll leave any further comment to April (on or off the board).

Saturday November 19 just became very interesting

Elmhurst at Hope

The opener in the sparkling new  DeVos Fieldhouse.

hopefan

Sac -given what I heard about Hope from Flying Dutch Fan  (incidently, so sorry you were out of town and missed our get  together), and hearing that Elmhurst will have their All American back, this sounds like a GREAT building opener.  I'm hoping to come up for the CCIW-MIAA challenge....
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Mr. Ypsi

Way to early to say for sure, but I hope to be there.

Which (if any) of the games will count as 'in region'?

Well, I'm back, I don't know how often I'll get to post, but I wanted to sy hello at least.  I thought about changing my name to JulianWrightfan, but couldn't figure out if there was a way to do that.  Regardless, I'm excited to learn as much as I can about CCIW basketball this fall, winter, and early spring.  Unfortunately, except for maybe once I won't be able to post about games (which some of you may not find quite so unfortunate) because I am currently doing an internship at a camp in New Hampshire.  Anyway, hello all, and its good to be back!

Mr. Ypsi

Pat,

Sorry, I forgot that d3hoops schedules include 'in-region' notation!

But I'm having a vague recollection from last year - didn't we conclude that Carthage-Hope was 3 miles beyond 'in-region' (or was that Calvin-Wheaton)?

Just double-checking my reading of the schedules: both Hope's games are in-region, Wheaton and Carthage each have one, and neither of Calvin's are - correct?

True Basketball Fan

I guess diehardfan doesn't hate Wesleyan afterall.  I apologize for assuming that.   :-[

However, if I offended you IWU lovers out there......good.  I know I'm not alone, because people have a tendency to love to hate the good teams (especially if it's the team beating theirs all the time).  I will continue to stir it up on this board....Why?  it's fun and keeps things interesting.   :D

Even with all that said, I always enjoy great games.  And as much as it pains me, that unfortunately leads me to the stands of the Shirk Center more often than I'd like.   :P

Indeed.

Calvin/Wheaton was the affected game. 197.1 miles in shortest-possible distance on Mapquest but more than 200 in the NCAA's chosen software.
