I could suggest all sorts of questions about game-related minutiae regarding NPU's impending tussle with Wheaton this evening in the crackerbox. Will Clayton Cahill get a lot of court time? How about Phil Schniedermeier as a countermeasure to Andy Wiele? Will Jason Gordon and Nick Williams be able to improve their shooting percentages from the field? Will Ben Panner and Andrew Jahns go off the way that they did against North Park in King Arena? Will the Vikings be able to hold Kent Raymond in check again? Will this be the last time that Raymond ever faces an NPU team?

But the real question upon everyone's mind is this: What will the Carlson Crazies do tonight?

I'm almost as interested to see what the Crazies come up with as I am in the game itself. Almost. ;)

Any word as to whether the Wheaton gens d'armes will be making the trek to that den of iniquity at Foster and Kedzie as a pre-emptive strike?

An appearance by the Wheaton Police Department in the crackerbox would evoke conflicts over sovereignty and jurisdiction issues that would surely lead to a shooting war between the cities of Chicago and Wheaton, so let's just hope that it doesn't come to that.

Between those two schools, I didn't think it would come to guns and bullets.  I was thinking more along the lines of a sword drill.   ;)

Titan Q- Carthage will be going for the season sweep against Augie tonight. If they can do that, things will definately become interesting

petemcb

RedMan, that's the outcome tonight that could make the conference the most interesting.  It would really tighten things up.

with all due respect, the real question tonight is how many times I'll make it up and down the court without needing oxygen and/or having a heart attack.

petemcb

Rob, are you manning the pushbroom at halftime now?

If Carthage can keep Augie off the boards tonight, I think they will have a great shot of winning the game. Bowens and Fendley need to have great shooting nights. Also, "Little Bosko" needs to have a big game. He needs to have one of those magical games he had earlier in conference play.

It will be interesting to see how the Redmen respond tonight to their very poor performance Thursday night.

If Carthage can keep Augie off the boards tonight,

For a team that's just been outrebounded 48-28 and 41-23 by much less physical teams (IWU, Wheaton), that is quite a big "if."

Mighty big "if"; the Red Men's better hope is their 3's find the way to and thru the bucket

Augie         76
Carthage   69

Augie blows a 20 point half time lead, but pulls out the win. Augie had 23 turnovers, but had a huge edge on the boards. Great on free throws down the stretch, helped them pull out the win.

Carthage did a great job with their three's.

Brian Larson had a great game for Augie: 24 points, 7 rebounds
2 Peter 1:5-10

New Standings:

Augustana--8-2
IWU          --7-3
Wheaton    6-4
Elmhurst     5-5
Carthage    5-5
NCC            4-6
NPU            3-7
Millikin         2-8

Wow, how big has Wednesdays game at Kenosha become?  If Carthage is able to snap outta their losing streak and get a W they would have an essential 2 game lead with three to play on Elmhurst being that they would have defeated the Blue Jays twice.  If not, they would be in a world of hurt, losers of 5 in a row and not looking good for the post-season tourney.
