"Well......I feel good about this, I think we've all arrived at a very special place. Spiritually, ecumenically,.........grammatically."

Hey Sac...always wanted to ask..that's a quote from a movie or something????  Where did it come from???  Seems like I should know it and it drives me crazy.

There.

There's my first question.

5 best...no regard for position.

Yep!  The 5 with the most points in the voting.  Good chance for 3 guards this year.

If IWU wins wednesday you could make an arguement for rosenkranz or dwyer over wessels (though dwyer doesn't have the offensive numbers he has the respect of the voters as a defensive go to guy including sweeps over the other two guards on the team).

I think Sean Johnson is the IWU guard that has the best chance of making the All-CCIW team.  Sean's CCIW-only stats:

12.8 ppg
2.6 rpg
2.8 apg
1.1 spg
32-77 3-pt (.416)

Here are Jordan Delp's numbers from last season:

12.5 ppg
2.3 rpg
2.0 apg
1.1 spg
28-62 3-pt (.462)

Delp made the 2nd Team in 2006-07.  I think Johnson's contributions for IWU this year have been almost identical to Delp's for Augie last year.  He has made so many big shots for the Titans to help get them to this position.

Q,

thanks for the clarification. For some reason I was thinking Rosenkranz was the statistical leader of the 3 guards but it is definately sean johnson. that is who I meant to refer to in all my posts regarding rosenkranz. Got the two mixed up.

I think Brett Wessels should be a lock for All Conference no matter what happens in the IWU game. He has averaged 16.4 ppg in conference and has a .857 FT% with many of those FTs coming with the game on the line.

He is the one Augie player that has pulled them through game in game out with Delp out for the season and Swetalla failing to come close to living up to expectations. If Dwyer shuts down Wessels Wednesday night like he did Raymond, then IWU most likely wins the conference title. That is how important Brett Wessels is to Augie.

As for Dain Swetalla I have to believe he is playing hurt this season. His skills cannot have deteriorated that much from last year without injury problems. Does any one at Augie have any clue as to why Dain is struggling so badly?  Augie really needs him on his game Wednesday night but the last two outings do not indicate that will be happening.

While losing is never fun, the atmosphere at the King on Saturday was great.  It certainly went towards building on the rivalry that continues to grow between the 2 schools.

Bob, you look younger.  What's with that?

Looking at Hintzsche, Jared will graduate as the winningest player to wear an EC uniform. (over a 4 year span)  Congrats to Jared.

Very interesting stastistic there, Jaybird.  I am curious if you happen to have the Top 5 or Top 10 lists for Elmhurst's records during an player's four years.

The Hall of Fame community is shocked by these recent revelations, hearings to determine the status of TitanQ must begin immediately. :D

North Park fans, where are some good places to grab a bite to eat around the gym? I think I will be going with some other Carthage fans.

RedMan1, there's only one place you need to know for pregame or postgame food for a game at NPU -- Charcoal Delights, aka "the Pit". It's right next to the Foster & Kedzie parking lot across the street from the gym, so you can't miss it. True to the name, everything in there is charcoal-grilled. It regularly appears on best-fast-food lists in the city, alongside Superdog, Mr. Beef, Portillo's, etc., which in a town like Chicago is not an easy thing to do.

(And I'm sure that Gus and Spiro and Tom and the rest of the guys behind the counter at Charcoal Delights will all be waiting for Bosko to show up on Wednesday night. Rumor has it that Bosko has it written into his will that a Charcoal Delights gyros plate be put in his casket before he's lowered into the ground.)

Dennis Prikkel and Joe Hakes can each credit a chin or two of theirs to the food at Charcoal Delights.

There are other fast-food joints on Foster across the street from NPU (McDonald's, Subway, Jimmy John's), but what's the point? You can eat at a franchise anytime. Charcoal Delights is one of the best reasons to make the trip to North Park to see a game.

Charcoal Delights sounds like a great place, thanks.

As another visiting fan (of NCC) I second Greg's recommendation of Charcoal Delights for your dining pleasure. I've eaten there 4 times now, including just a few weeks ago, and have enjoyed the "delights" each time. As an added bonus, once you park in the lot right across from the NPU gym, all you have to do is walk a very short distance east and you're there.
